I generaly let my mind run wild when I'm in bed with some music playing. I pop in music by The Offspring and I just listen to the lyrics. The Offspring have such a wide range of different feelings on each album but a general overall theme (so hard to place a finger on but it's certainly there) and I have all their albums (minimum 12 songs to a disc so around 72 songs). When I listen to the albums there's always one song or a few songs that leap out at me and it makes me meditate whether I want to or not, lol
What about you?

i find that i meditate best while moving around.
i can only meditate for a short while, 5-10 minutes sitting down. but when i walk i can go on for an hour or more.
a walking meditation is a bit special, you really just go with the flow, eastablish a rythm in your step and your breathing, clear your head consiously by saying you are leaving the troubles behind you - and then you walk!
doing the dishes works too.
and dancing. (but be careful not to stumble into things)
i meditate to seldom. i wish i could do it more often.

I, and many other people walk labyrinths in the same manner for meditative purposes.

I meditate when I am walking on my own and also when I am gardening. I try to do a set meditation for about 15 minutes a day - I always have either relaxing music or a guided tape. I also meditate at group sessions (about 3 a week). I find if I am relaxing in my chair I can go into a meditative state some times. I have seen some people who meditate with their eyes open but I find this doesn't always work for me.

i meditate almost every day, like jema and hermit said, walking is a great way of doing meditations. what is even a better way for me is go for a run, take my dogs with me and just run for 10 km, not too fast, easy going speed. all i can say is you should try this, its great.
zazen works also very well.

I try to fit in a meditation session every day although in reality it`s usually every other day. I meditate in the evenings when I`ve just put my daughter to bed and I usually do a breathing meditation or a chakra cleansing meditation. About once a week I try to do a meditation on some specific thing eg one of the elements or a tarot card.
Blessings

I forgot about that. Just today my friend and I walked to McDonald's (ugh, the only restaurant around so what can ya do...) and we were talking about Canada's senate conclusion to legalise Marijuana and what that meant and what the consequences are etc... I find I do that alot when I walk. I'm either talking with someone about what's on my mind or I'm completely silent thinking about it on my lonesome.
Yes walking helps alot.
Although the bed is my favourite right down. I can relax and listen to music or just be at peace with the darkness around me. Funny how darkness has been placed next to evil as the same meaning. I like the comfort of total darkness and the allure of the night. It's very comforting :) I dunno why people see 'darkness' and the 'darkside' as synomwhatever (sp?) to evil.
I hope to use the Osho Zen (thank you very very much ;) ) deck with some candles at night. Provided I don't start any fires. lol, I'll try to be as careful as I can.

When I dance, I sometimes find myself meditative, but not meditating (if that makes any sense).
I sit and practice kundalini meditation at times on my own, but not as much as I used to (doh!)
This summer I've taken to lying on the ground in the foresty backyard while watching the baby play, and doing deep breathing, a lot of stretching and breathing -- cleansing breath stuff.
Active listening is another good one for me, sitting in a comfortable position and opening your ears as far as they can go.... That helps me a lot if I'm having a day where it's hard to get rid of the 10,000 things that keep racing through my mind.

I try to meditate twice a day (before and after bed)... usually for relaxation... stress relief... healing and inner guidance. :)

I like to meditate in the bathtub, in the dark.
Sometimes, I will meditate as I walk around Green Lake or go swimming, but I'm never alone so my awareness tends to get brought to the present pretty consistently. I'd love to have a private place to walk for hours.
I meditate at night, before sleep to try and relax and get better sleep. Some of my most astounding realizations come this way.

I usually meditate before bed, as I have a tendency to relax to the point where all I want to do is fall asleep after.
I try to do this every night.

Goodness, I have missed you guys! I put my cards away for awhile so that I could concentrate on learning lots of new things.
Big hi and hugs to all of my friends!
I try to meditate daily if I can. I use the orange/red ball from Chios, or a chakra clearing guided meditation, sometimes I'll meditate on a symbol or question. I like to go into the Akashic Records, and that's pretty meditative, too...
Love and Light,
Gem

Can I come live with you? LOL.
I too love to meditate while in the garden. Something about having dirt on your hands and touching plants as they grow is very centering. I always feel refreshed after being in nature.
When I have the chance, I love to stand on a hill and meditate as the wind blows on my face and carries away with it all my worries.
Blessings.

I normally meditate when my inner balance is thrown off.... i.e. if im sad, or upset... and things like that... I sit in the middle of my bed.. put on some classical music... and focus on where the music can take me

I meditate best in nature, it almost happens automatically.
This is not always possible, so when I do it at home I need a little more help: soothing music (Clannad works for me) and a tarot card and candles. I'm still trying what works best: if I use more than one card my concentration diffuses so I try one card now.
