I was sitting by a stream watching a spider as she sat in the centre of her web. Suddenly as if awakening from a trance, she began to test the strength of her web by pulling on the nearest strands. She didn't like what she found, without hesitation she ran to the outer perimeter of the web and began to move around her carefully constructed circle. It wasn't until she had completed a complete circuit of the web that I could see that she had cut the entire structure away. She had left only the anchoring foundation. She then, again, without hesitation, began her weavers dance---and in five minutes of human time she had constructed another beautifully made home. She rested in the centre and then, sure of her work, raced off to wait under a rock for whatever fate and the winds would bring.
It took me some time to sort out all the lessons in that scene, but most pertinent is this, we, like the spider, have all that we need to create beauty and balance in our lives, even to rebuild our lives if that is what we must do. All the spider has in her, we have within us. The material to weave our lives and the knowledge with which to do it all. There is only one other element we must energize to bring our creation into form. OUR WILL. As time has gone on I have come to the conclusion that the discovery of who we are and what we are about, is less a journey of shaping reality and more a process of uncovering the Truth that already exists, fully formed, within us. Once we understand this, once we are free enough of the definitions we are encumbered with, by those who will define us for themselves, our task is simply to shape and fine tune this pre-existing Truth which awaits revelation within our being.
Reading the Tarot images and remembering them is simply an ability to recognize the Truth inside the mirrors the cards provide. Each time we use the Tarot in this manner we become more familiar with ourselves. We remember our own image and come closer to the perfection we were created to be.
(I thought I would share this with you)

Yogi Cat,
Thank you for sharing your lesson..what a wonderful story.
The spider to me is a teacher, as is most animals...her web can be seen as a reminder that we are all strings in the web of the universe and as we change so does the universe..
Blessings and keep watching..she will teach you much about yourself and others..
