Ok well I would think..if you beleive you can be with your loved ones..and pets are loved...sure~!

Absolutely. In fact, I think that my dog used to be my cat. I used to have a black and white tomcat named Maynard. He had a very doglike personality -- he would roll in the dust and dirt, had a horrible fear of water due to an unfortunate incident with a swimming pool in his youth, and he wouldn't rub against my legs, but he would put his paws up on me like a dog would do. Maynard died when I was in 7th grade. Years later, when I finally moved out on my own, I fulfilled my lifelong childhood dream of getting a puppy (I didn't even have furniture yet, just my uniforms and a couple of blankets, but by golly, I got my dog.) My dog, Loki, loves to roll in the dust and dirt, and has a mysterious fear of water. My crackpot theory is that Maynard came back as a dog to be with me. I couldn't prove it with empirical evidence, but sometimes things like petting him or playing fetch are so familiar, I would swear that we've done that for centuries.

i definitely believe my cats will rejoin me on the other side. i still feel them about me. i find myself still talking about them as if they still live. it's a different kind of love than with a human being. animals are blessed with the ability to love unconditionally. imho, it wasn't an accident that dog backward is god. i think pets are links b/t the creator's love and ourselves. the poem posted here is usually one i post when someone has lost a pet. i don't know how many years i've had it but it still makes me cry. sad yes but the story also gives me hope.

I absolutely KNOW that they return to us, because our cat, who died last July, returned to us on All Soul's Day (significant, huh?) - and he looks exactly the same and has all the mannerisms of his former self, and - well, I just know it's him when I look into his eyes. Plus, he knew all of us immediately, knew all the rooms in the house, wasn't shy at all. So there. I'm a believer.
