Other astral creatures

We all know that several of us have Dragon friends. I am wondering if anyone has made friends with or even just met any other of the denizens of the astral plane....those that mainstream society is fond of calling "mythical."

I think I have a griffin. Sometimes several seem to hang around. Maybe that's why I haven't got a dragon yet.

I have a BUNCH of fairies that came from a scrying ball. They keep asking for more plants, even though half the house is starting to look like a temperate version of a jungle. They're attracted to my children as well. They do tend to stay away from the cat, though.

I knew a gal who had a very deep kinship with unicorns, but I'm not sure of the details about her relationship with them.

As for myself, I have some form of relationship with the merfolk, but I'm not quite ready to explore that yet.

Teranar  02 Dec 2002
I've come in contact with creatures others have attracted, like every person I've met who has fairies, they play with me, but I've never attracted any about me...

Kiama  03 Dec 2002
Ever since I can remember, up until the age of 10, I had contact with Faeries, though I didn't know they wer faeries at the time, until the age of aound 8 They were my friends. They weren't the typical flower fairies you see in chidren's story books: They were about the height of me at the age of 10, with dark dark hair and eyes. They could understand my language, but couldn't speak it, and i couldn't understand their's. We communicated through gestures and drawing things on the ground. They could say simple English words, hte main one being 'Friend'. (Whenever I asked one it's name, it would reply 'Friend'. :D)

I would spend hours with these guys, learning form them, dancing with them, playing games, etc... Most of my spiritual outlook which I have today is down to what they taught me.

I don't know if they count as 'Astral' though, cuz I saw them in real life.

PS- I lost contact with my friends when I was scolded by my teacher for still believing in 'imaginary friends' and faeries. I stopped believing in faeries, and never saw my friends again. :(

Alissa  03 Dec 2002
Kiama, that is the saddest thing I've ever heard, about how you were scolded like that, and then lost that connection. I would love to hear more of your interactions with the faeries, I think it's amazing! Although I've never seen one, I do wish I may someday.

Just the other day I was having a conversation with another mom about how to keep a child's intuitive connection/link(s) alive, and yet balance them in the "real" world. Since I'm pretty new at this mom thing, I hope I encourage anything my son finds connections with, but teach him the necessity of discretion.

At 17 months, he already is in love with dragons (he made up his own "baby sign" for them to talk about them). And we live in the mountains, and I feel many fae folk are around but hiding. During the summer I would sit outside with my son and you could almost feel them creeping around to come see and play with the newest baby on the hill. I would see movement in the corner of my eyes, but never anything head on.

However, as I started cobbling the back yard path, the clover came up. This year, I counted over a dozen *5 leaf clovers* and you could find a 4 leaf clover in every square foot without even trying very hard. I saw that first 5 leaf clover poke through where I had just cobbled the day before and knew the forest folk were happy with my work.

I let many 4 and 5 leaf clovers stay and grow, but did pick a few. How could I resist??? :D

Kiama  04 Dec 2002
Alissa: It sounds wonderful where you live! Gotta get me a hill full of 4 and 5 leaf clovers! I remember as a kid sitting in fields of clover, desperately searching for a 4-leaf one... I never even dreamed of trying to find a 5-leaf. But I never found a 4-leaf clover.

The faeries I were friends with taught me alot. They taught me how to live a spiritual, moral life. They taught me how to fully appreciate nature, and how to see the sacred in everything. Most of all, they taught me how to face life head-on and learn from every single experience that came my way, whether or not it be good or bad.

Many things they taught me, I did not fully understand until some years later. Especially now, I find I am understanding deeper what they were trying to tell me. One day, I may try and get into contact with them, but I think either there is a horribly inextricable block in the way in my mind, or I don't need them anymore... When I lost contact, I was aware that they had taught me a helluva lot, and now maybe I've got to go it alone, and learn from myself instead of from others.

It wasn't until recently that I actually had the courage to tell anybody about my experiences with the faeries... Hearing that Brian Froud sees them gave me a little courage, and people who I know around me also did... I wish that teacher knew what damage she did to me when she told me off for what I believed, but then again, Im sure htere is a lesson for me to learn here.

Hi all,

When I was very young, up to about age 4 or 5, I had what my parents called "imaginary friends" that I called The Little Girls. I remember playing with them and I did blame them for everything that got broken, even if I knew I really did it. I don't remember what they looked like or if I ever really saw them. Now, years and years later, I wonder who or what The Little Girls were. Were they "imaginary" or did I actually see something? I wish I knew the answer.

I have a badger that follows me around often. He keeps the fairies in line. The interesting thing is that when I'm writing meditations, or working on other writings I feel him quite strongly, my dogs (who are normally quite mellow) will bark like circle behind the desk, eventually they give up and then go into another room.

Could anyone tell me how you came into contact with these "mytical" creatures? I would love to be able to communicate and play with them, or just having them around to know that I'm not alone. I think that part of the reason I don't see any at this point in my life is the location of where I live. It's the basement of my boyfriends' parents' house. whew! It's damp, dark and not finished. The house was built in the early 20th century before cars were popular. It's not pleasant but we've managed and I wouldn't blame any creature who wouldn't want to be around that.

DarkElectric  05 Dec 2002
I really have been thinking a lot about Griffins lately (or maybe Gryphons (?), as I've seen it spelled too, same creature, I think?)
I was considering calling one in to a quarter for a working I was doing. It occured to me, that I had better learn all I can about them, before asking one in to guard a quarter! How does one go about making friends with Griffins? Is it in a similar manner as with Dragons, think good things and send them friendly greetings? Or are there things people should know before attempting contact? Such as, how NOT to offend them?

Phoenix  05 Dec 2002
DarkElectric, look for Mystical, Magickal, Creatures by DJ Conway. It might explain what you need to know.

Pollux  06 Dec 2002
I always had a thing for Gryphons - they are SO Magickal!!! :D
Recently I noticed there was more than fancy around me, but probably real subtle entities... I think I approached griffins even before knowing about dragons and "believing" in them. I am sure I have a Griffin protector, I have never seen him but I have felt him so many times. And no wonder all my doodles during classes are gorgeous griffins in all pose - maybe I should start designing a griffin deck! :D *LOL*
