Anyone know anything about Astral projection ???

Has anyone experienced this ????

Maybe our dragon friends can show us the way ???

How does one begin such a journey ????

There are many sites on astral projection, plus plenty of books. If you search for the knowledge, it's out there.

One simple technique is to lull oneself into a mild trance before falling asleep (focus on breathing, count, etc... there are many techniques), then visualize doing something in another room, like handling a favorite object. It helps to repeat a mantra, like "Now I am out-of-body."

That's just one of countless methods. The methods themselves are simple, but they're not effective until you do some research. The thing about a feat like astral travel is that your mind is more capable of pulling it off if you spend your waking hours focusing on the details of the supporting theories. I suggest "Adventures Beyond the Body," by William Buhlman.

Also keep in mind that some people practice daily for years before they achieve results. This is an activity that your mind and body has been conditioned NOT to do for most of your life. A lot of un-learning must take place.

Okay, this is what turned me off Wicca, but here goes.

One of my friends in college told me she had moved into a new room in her dorm and I was wondering which room. There were three practicing witches on my floor - different dorm - so I borrowed a book from one. I think the book was Calling Down the Moon. One of the things described was how to send your spirit out. The process went like this:

1. Lay down in a comfortable spot on the floor in a darkened room. Not too comfortable; you don't want to fall asleep. Think about where you want to go; you'll need a clear sense of it later.
2. Count down into a meditative state. Count from one to seven while visualizing the colors corresponding to each number -
____1 = red
____2 = orange
____3 = yellow
____4 = green
____5 = blue
____6 = indigo
____7 = violet
You can visualize only the color, or something like a friut or article of clothing of that color, or picture a big red one, a yellow three, etc. *You might get tense as you move from one stage to the next. Do not move to the next stage until you are comfortable in the one you are currently in.* That's my experience talking.
3. Be careful when you get down to violet, because that is not the level you'll be projecting from. It's the level you go to sleep at! Once you're comfortable at violet but [/b]before you go to sleep[/b], move a step back up to indigo.
4. Once you're comfortable at indigo again, imagine yourself sitting up. Look around the room. Make sure you can register what you're seeing. (There are probably different ways of registering things.) Get comfy with sitting up.
5. Now try standing. Again, look around the room. Get comfy with standing.
6. Now try walking. Move around the room. Get comfy with moving around where you can see your body.
7. Now try going to wherever you had in mind. Try this at walking speed first. Get comfortable with moving away from your body at this speed.
8. Now move up to a run. Get comfortable with yada yada yada.
9. Now try to go as fast as you would in a car. You might begin at one speed and accelerate to another. Again, get comfortable with this. Later - or if you know where you're going really well - you might try going there instantly, kind of like beaming up on Star Trek or Goku's instant transmission on Dragonball Z.
10. When you get there, look around, etc.

Now, when you're ready to wake up, you don't want to wake up all at once. You'll need to go through all the steps in reverse. When you to the room you're physically in, ease back into your body, count down to violet and then up to red. Hopefully nobody will touch you while if you try any of this. It never happened to me, but I'm told it's uncomfortable.

It should be pointed out that there is no real danger in being physically touched during a projection. You will simply react by rejoining your body. The only discomfort I can think of might be a very brief case of sleep paralysis.

Yeah, you'll only startle a bit. Was I little concerned about comfort, perhaps? ;)

Happened to me a few weeks ago. I wasn't asking for it or even thinking about it at all, so it can happen spontaneously as a by product of spiritual/psychic development.

It was kind of like the pix of the astronauts you see floating around in the space capsule. I was too surprised to really do much. I was relieved later that I realized what was happening, was the only person in the room & that there was nothing astrally threatening waiting for me.

Thanks, I've been eyeing up a book in BArnes and Noble and I
Always ask hubby for a gift certificate for X-mas. Just what need right ?

My kids are already telling people " Yeah, my mom talks to dead people."

I can hear it now--Yeah, My mom went to visit her dragon friends on the astral plane.

My family thinks I'm quirky as it is.

Oh well, a girl'ls gotta' do what a girl's gotta' do.

Thanks again for the info, it's a topic that has long fascinated me.

One time (not purposely) a dog was standing in front of me. I jump right into him as if I was the dog. I felt myself standing on all 4 and I was in his point of view. Then I flashed back into my body. This whol process happened over about 2 seconds. Is that still considered astral projection?

I have them occasionally. The first one was when I felt something "release" from my body. Kinda like floating. Next thing I knew I was looking around my room, observing it. I wanted to "break free" but something was holding me back. Then I darted up awake in bed. I'm used to it, but it only happens when I'm real tired, right before I go to bed, when your mind's at peace. (Hope I didn't freak anybody out with this post.)
