Anyone read it?
So far I have only read the intro and and about making your own book of shadows..
So far..I really like her approach..this is not a HOW TO book..This explains things..Tells you things you can do..You dont have to agree with everything..
My sister got this for me for my birthday..I had never even heard of it this is what she said about getting the book
"I saw that it said Witch Crafting, You are into that 'stuff' so I got it for you"
LOL--She is not into anything spiritual YET..hehehe

I bought it myself recently, but haven't had time to read it...
I like the approach you're describing.
Have to find some time soon to start reading! ;)

Well, needless to say I am jealous... :P Anyway, in the last pages of "The Spiral Dance" I got earlier this week there is a short list of suggested readings, with <"Witchcrafting" By Phyllis Curott - incoming>. Probably it was translated together with the Dutch version. I have loved the first book ("Book of Shadows"), so I will get this one as soon as I see it, regardless of other stuff that might be on my wishlist... Well, now I DO encourage both of you - and Maan and also Rostie I think *LOL* - to write some more about it, cos I really can't wait!!! :(

I've got this book, but I haven't read to much of it yet. I really need to slow down in my book buying. I don't seem to get a chance to read very many of them any more. *sigh*
Anyway, from the first little bit I read, I think it's pretty good. I also really enjoyed her first book, Book of Shadows. I could sort of relate to her story, although my life is far from being that magical! :)
I do like her approach in Witch Crafting. She seems to sort of stay away from the big rituals, etc. that are in a lot of Wiccan/Witch books. I personally don't care for ritual, so I like that. :) I also like the way she seems to take time to explain the how and why of things. There are some things about the book that bothers me though. IIRC, she seems to toot her own horn a wee bit. I guess that's to be expected though.

It's an absolutely fantastic book, please do the exercises too.
It's one of the best books I've read to date. Another I'd recommend is 12 Wild Swans.
I'm SO glad things like this are being published. I found WitchCrafting at the local library, for some strange reason--didn't think they were into carrying books of this sort. She also has a Book of Shadows out too, if you wanted anything else by this author.

What 'style' of witchcraft does this book discuss? Wicca or Traditional, or something I never heard of before? I noticed that "Wicca" wasn't in the title. Actually, I'm hoping it's not that.

Being solitary eclectic I didn't really pay attention to what type, but she did say she was a high priestess. Could be gardenerian? Not sure. Phyllis Currott does have a web site online, it should say there.

Hi RedWood :)
I have that one too, and I absolutely love it. I really like the fact that she explains things too. She tells you "Why" instead of just "Do this". I also like how she describes the craft as a journey, and how this is affecting her life, as an example to everyone else.
And she gets into the spirituality aspect VS the spellwork side. Spellwork is great, I'm a witch who does cast spells, but it's nice to see someone discussing the sacred aspect of Wicca, and not merely publishing another grimoire.

MH... I loved her Book of Shadows - got it last year for Xmas/Yule, in Italian.
And guess what I just bought yesterday morning? ;)
Look at the pic: isn't the cover corny??? *LOL*

I also have this book, RW, and I am slowly reading through it. It is a good book, especially for someone who is always asking "why?" and likes to understand the history of things. I liked her explanations of particle physics and its relation to magic....
My sister, funny enough, showed me Phyllis's first book, "Book of Shadows", when I was at her house yesterday. But if I understand correctly, from comments here, it is more of her journey to wicca then an actual 'how to" book.
Enjoy your reading! I think you might like this one!!

Yeah I do like it..of course..It helps in Making your own path..As she stated in teh book..Not everything she says is Law ..and that you do question things is natural..So I like this book for the fact..that for one.. A lot of it I agree with..and then I can make my own path..Parts of this book will be included..

I have read her "BOS", and I liked it very much, also in the extreme or exagerated parts. IT deals with her inner discovery of spirituality in her college years and further. There are very few spells and rituals, and they are collected in the end of the book; she just focuses on her grouwth, and experiences, but it really good cos in the narration she mostly covers all points - astral travel, shamanic journeys, elemental meditations, spell casting, Moon rituals, Goddesses, correspondences, magic names... bla bla bla *LOL* I reccommend it, not for the enciclopedical value, but because it's simply a plaesant reading and with some good inuts and thoughts.
Her magic name is, just guesss? Aradia - now this was predictable... *LOL*
