Reiki-Has not been discussed in awhile!

I send reiki to people in those type of situations...And to the person doing it...I feel i need to do something..i dont know if it is technically "ethical" just..at that point..i figure..any little thing can help. I am also getting my Reiki 2 SOON! YAY!! Happy day! woohoo..I am studying color healing..And do use it sometimes with my reiki.. How is your reiki going..and what are you doing with it?

I'm not sure what you mean by this? As for what I'm doing with it: I use it mostly for myself, sometimes every day, sometimes only when I really need it. And I use it for others when they ask for it, or I offer it to them if they are open to it. I'm thinking about getting Reiki IIIa. That's not an "official" level, it's sort of in between II and III; you get the same initiation as a Reikimaster, but you don't become a Reikimaster, so you can't initiate others. It's just that I don't want to become a Reikimaster just now, but I do want to go a step further in reiki, so this sounds like a good next step.

Sorry ..I meant...In sweden there is a man holding a woman hostage..So i send reiki to both..One: To help her stay calm...To him..to do the right thing and let her go.. I just wonder about that.. I hope to one day..be able to initiate people into reiki.

Ah ok, I see what you mean... ;) Personally, I always ask permission to send reiki first. Except in cases where I can't ask (for example with children) or when it's for friends of whom I know they will accept it. But if I'm not sure whether the person I'm sending it to wants to accept it, I send it under the condition that they want to accept it. In the example you mention, about the man holding a woman hostage, I would send it to the situation rather than to the individual persons. Although on the whole, I don't think you can really do anything wrong with reiki, because I see it as "intelligent" energy: it will only do for someone what's right for him or her. I would want to become a reikimaster, if only I had the time to actually organise and give reiki courses... But unfortunately I don't have that time right now... :(

Redwood, would you begin your Reiki teaching by telling me just exactly what it is? I hear about it frequently, on this site and among my friends. When I ask friends about it they say something like, "it's hands-on healing." Consequently, I haven't a clue, and it sounds fascinating.

Hi Red Emma, Reiki literally means "universal energy", the energy that is in everyone and everything and that we need to live. This energy can be used for healing as well, by increasing our energy or that of someone else or by improving the flow of the energy. You can do this by hands-on healing or by sending energy over a distance. To do this, you are initiated by a Reikimaster, who opens you up for this energy. This is not to say that someone who hasn't been initiated can't use the energy; the initiation just makes it stronger. That's my personal view on reiki, anyway ;) . Tarotlady explained it best..that is a very good site! To get the info from! You can reiki ...plants, animals..all living things..When I am not sure..I do send like Tarotlady suggested...If they choose to accept..for the greatest good..and if not..then that energy can go back into the earth.

I think the pretty soon(with in the next month or so) I am going to be getting my master attunement. My RMT and I have discussed it, and have decided that I am ready for it.

Hi all, Like Redwood I am on my way to Reiki II. I contacted the women I have been dying to meet and have teach me and she said SURE....I am so grateful.. Pheonix, I too think you are a great teacher and am glad to hear you will be teaching Reiki. Tarotlady, You are doing it right for you...one step at a time. That is wonderful. My belief about what is Reiki, well as a Christian I believe it is the healing light sent through us by the holy spirit. The light the spirit sends us protects and heals..depending on strength and what is needed. Blessings to all who choose this path. Cj

Thanks Guys! I am not sure if I will have time(or a place to do it) to teach it, and give the attunements. I hope I will though. I plan on giving a friend of mine an attunement though. I could always trade attunements for decks..})

the site tarotlady mentions is a good one to get the info from. i use reiki every day for myself, its great to fall asleep with :-) and like you all, i send it to other people if they ask, and i sometimes offer it if. also situations sometimes, you can send it to anything, anyplace, anywhere in time, actually. like tarotlady i did some healing on past issues as well. and, i think thats the most important thing for me, i really try to live the reiki principles........ kaz

Very True TarotLady about reiking everything..LOL it slipped my mind..I reiki a lot of things..I was tought you only reiki "natural things" but I feel everything is part of the universe..and it probably flows thru more natural things easier..but..i use it on everything..Oh it is great for getting into meditation! I reiki myself to meditate..assuming i dont fall asleep LOL

Before I did Reiki 1 in September my migraines had got totally out of control. My husband had almost lost his job through having to take time off to look after the kids because I was having at least one big migraine a week (sometimes 2). Since becoming attuned to Reiki my headaches have got much better (about one bad one a month now). I try to give myself a couple of treatments per week, one a day if I feel I need it. I also cleanse my tarot decks and crystals using Reiki and hopefully will do Reiki 2 this year. Love and light Crystalmynx xx

Thanks, Guys. It sounds, to use a word my granddaughter made up, splendiferous. It's something I'd really, really like to learn. However at this moment, I've got a plate full of stuff I'm learning--Tarot, astrology, shamanism. But when I've got those under my belt!!!!!!!!! By the way, Redwood, your belief that all things are part of the natural world is supported by current physics experiments. It seems that what looks to us like solid matter (tables, trees, kitchen sinks, people) is in reality pure energy in varying degrees of density. For instance, if I kick the table leg thinking that it's pure energy and my foot will go right through it. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! And my foot will scream bloody murder at me.

The hard thing is thinking of both of them (table let and foot) at the same time. I bet you it's possible. Although I'm not going to try and do it. Last time my foot hit the table leg, I broke a toe.

Hi all, Well, I am signed up for my first Reiki class on January 26, 2003. I am very excited about this! Anyone want to give any ideas or suggestions for a first timer? I do feel like I am having problems with my throat chakra. Should I try to get this cleared up before class starts or will the attunement take care of this?

That's great, raeanne! The only advice I have: just enjoy the course! ;) And as for the problems with your throat chakra: I wouldn't worry about it. The attunement may take care of it and if not, you can practise your reiki on it... ;)
