Just a real quick question....
Does anyone's hands ever get so warm that it is painful to them?

If mean when using tarot cards, I wouldn't know as I have just started trying to read them, but I am one who experiences such pain in their right hand (my left hand doesn't experience pain, or feel at all for that matter, because it lacks funtioning nerves to do so). Usually it starts to burn when I am completly focused on whatever I am doing (usually drawing). The heat grows in intensity, then it starts getting painful, until all of a sudden it feels as if they are incased in ice (I know that it sounds odd to go from hot to cold so suddenly, but there is no other way I can describe it). I'm no doctor, nor am I an expert on the energies of this world, but it may have to do with the amount of concentration you are putting into your cards as you work with them.
Those are my thoughts anyway.

Hi Turtle,
it is not when i am working with cards. I don't even have my set yet. (I will be posting a big ole' yipee when i get them.)
This is usually when i am trying to go to sleep, am really tired or it is really warm/cold out. And they never switch to cold suddenly. I usually have to put them under cold water to make it stop. And it is both hands.

Hello Reds97 ^_^.
This might not be it, but have you ever heard of a condition of the body where you produce too much or too little heat? I do not know the english term for this. I have that condition. When I am moving around normally I am ok, but when I am trying to sleep my temperature rises to the point where I have to be careful or I will cook my internal organs. It is also important to note that I have grown so used to it that it is difficult to recognise if I am overheating or not until I touch something and feel the difference between my own heat and whatever I am touching. It sounds funny, but it really is a serious condition. I know that you are only experiencing it in your hands, but if it hurts so bad I would suggest going to the doctor. Pain is our body's way of telling us that something isn't right.
I hope this helps.
Oh, there is another possibility that could be considered. My wife has this strange ability to change her temperature. I know that this also sounds silly, but it is true, and I am surprised that she didn't mention it, but maybe she doesn't want to sound weird. When I am hurting, she warms up her hands and places them on the place that hurts and the pain goes away. Maybe it could be this strange ability trying to manifest itself?

Hi you.
Yes, I have the exact same 'condition'! My hands can get so warm I have to keep them under cold water or put them in sand (on a beach in Thailand ;) ).
I've asked many people about this, and if it's not a serious illness, it can be that you have 'abilities'. Or so I was told. If you sit by someone and your hands suddenly get warm, ask that person if you can lay your hands on them. Most likely, they need it. Maybe this sounds strange, but somewhat logical as well.
One person told me that I have very strong energies, and healing abilities. After that, I've tried to reinforce them and strenghten my control on them. Now I'm able to 'heat' my hands when I want to, but I'm still struggling to switch the heat off when it gets uncomfortable. Hope this helps.
Blessings,

Maybe you should try a reiki course to see if that helps you to control it.
Might be the same thing for you, reds97.
Just a thought...

Wow. I have this same trouble, only it's my feet. It's more severe in the summer when I'm stressed (I can't take heat very well.) I've been to about three jillion doctors over the years trying to figure this out. The diagnosis has variously been fungus, poor circulation, allergies, hypoglycemia, diabetes, blood clots and hives.
I don't know what to believe, since all of the above have turned out to be wrong.
I like aonex' post, but I doubt anyone will submit to me laying my feet on them. :)

i would suggest learning about reiki as well. many reiki practitioners feel heat in their hands. perhaps allowing the energy to flow through you, will help your feet as well.
i'm going to move this thread to spirituality. it seems to be leaning more toward spiritual healing than divination.
bright blessings,

That sounds exactly what my wife can do! So it is called Reiki? Interesting as Reiki means "cold" in Japanese. Just the opposite of what it supposed to be ^_^. I looked it up in the dictionary and I could not find it, so if anyone knows what this word means in english I would appreciate!
Where can I find more information of Reiki? My wife is very personal when it comes to this thing, almost as if she is ashamed of it, and won't tell me about it, and I wish to know more.

Sometimes it is so great to know i am not alone. My husband is always saying that i give great massages. I just seem to know how to move his back to make the muscles relax... (i just refuse to crack it... very very dangerous.)
Since i am new to this i will have to put Rekki on my to research list.. it is already becoming very full.

This sometimes happens to my husband, he has certain healing abilities that I suppose he was just born with. When I was pregnant and would get cramps, or 'practice contractions', he would lay one hand on either side of my stomach and we would close our eyes and concentrate on the pain stopping and it would. Afterwards his hands would usually be really hot (hotter than could be explained by our physical contact). sometimes they would also be very sore for awhile afterward. I've been trying to encourage him for sometime to try to develope this skill more but he is very humble and dosen't consider it to be something people take seriously. Anyhow, perhaps this is a skill you have and should test out. I personally think it would be great to be able to do this.

The word reiki (rei-ki) means "universal energy".
Here's a recent thread about reiki, with some background information and a link to a website that provides a lot more information.

I know back when I went to a penecostal church, there was a man who led us in prayer for God to help us find what it is that we truly are. He stated after the prayer that if your hands tingled or grew warm that this was a sign of the gift of healing. I remember it well, since that is exactly what my hands did.
Even though I don't go to church anymore, I still belive I have this gift. I too give really good back massages. I concentrate on what it is that person needs and my hands will warm over the spot that is in the most pain, then I concentrate on that area.
My hands will also warm when I am reading tarot cards. My favorite thing to do to exercise this is to put all the cards face down, and run my hands over them, thinking of a question. When my hand warms, I pick up that card. It is usually very accurate.

I have this, but the oppostie of it. When I am performing a ritual or some seiou magickal working or in an altered state f consciousnes, for want of a better word there, my hands go icy cold.
A few weeks ago I performed a banishing ritual which involved lot of magickal energy going into the ritual, with a friend. At one point we had to hold hands cuz he was showing me the 'Middle Pillar' exercise, and also using induction to help strengthen my aura. When we clasped hands, we both gaspd. His hands were boiling hot. Mine were icy cold. Apparantly he always gets boiling hot hands in ritual. It was funny, but also enlightening.
The only time I don't get icy cold hands in ritual is when I am healing somebody and they are there. That's because I am actually using my hands on them and directing energy through my hands into them, which seems to be slightly different to normal ritual.

I experience pain in my right hand when scanning my tarot cards while chosing which ones to draw. I've noticed that when I get this pain sometimes it shoots up my arm. It starts off with tingling and then as I scan the cards the pain is intense over top of cards I'm supposed to draw. I notice pain more when the tarot really wants to get something across to me. At other times I experience tingling and a bit of warmth when the answers in the tarot are sort of regular answers. The pain tells me that my psychic awareness is strong. That's how I perceive it.
