How do you store a crystal ball?

I have a very beautiful rainbow obsidian sphere which my husband bought me for Yule (still haven`t found a decent stand for it). Anyway the question is how do you store a crystal ball? At the moment it`s sitting there on my altar looking marvelous but does it need to be wrapped in silk or anything to protect it from unwanted energies? I suspect that it does. For all of you scryers out there what do you do with your crystal balls or scrying mirrors when you`re not using them? Love and light Crystalmynx xx

My scrying mirror is wrapped in black silk since it is such a personal tool that no ne should handle or use it. The several crystal balls I possess are on little stands inside a glass display case, so no one can easily touch them, yet they are kept clean and on display so everyone can enjoy their beauty. I always feel clear crystals should be kept in sunlight, direct or indirectly. If you are more concerned about people 'playing' with them, perhaps a small handkerchief-sized square of silk ( or whatever) could be draped over them or even wrapped, like a popcorn ball....? PS - I have a black obsidian sphere with two beautiful gold 'eyes.'

mine are displayed on my altar. there are many theories about keeping them in or out of sunlight. i go with a more shamanic theory of energizing tools by moonlight if you're a female, and energizing them by sunlight if male.

Mine stays where it's always been: right in the middle of the kitchen table, surrounded by unfinished jugsaw puzzles, the occasional dirty dish, arts and crafts projects both finished and unfinished, stacks of papers on anything and everything (including bills), etc. etc. etc. The fae that live in it seem to like the clutter and constant movement in and out of the kitchen, though, so it's an ideal place for that particular ball.
