I am just starting out on researching the idea of tarot, palmstry and angels...
I was wondering.. how many spouses/partners are accepting of this and how many aren't.. and if they weren't to begin with.. how long did it take them to be comfortable with the idea? *L*
Mine looks at me like he should be considering committing me to an instution.. and i was wondering how long this will last? *L*

My wife encouraged me to take up tarot, asks for readings (which I tend to struggle on) and also encouraged me to return to Astrology.
However she has some psychic/mediumistic abilities and tends to take a very liberal view of divination.

My hubby isn't too interested in my tarot, but he is quite accepting and encouraging in my pagan expressions and has even participated with me when I have asked for the moon's blessing & protection (I didn't know then it was called "drawing down the moon"). One of his gifts to me this year was addressed to his "wiccy [sic] woman"...

My husband looks at me like I should be committed also when I talk about tarot. He just doesn't get it and doesn't try. Because he loves me he doesn't discourage me from my interests. He does caution me once in a while about who I talk to about tarot, but only out of concern for my wellbeing. Because I love him I accept the fact that he will never even try to "get it".
I mentioned to him yesterday that when our income tax return comes in I wanted to get another tarot deck. He said "Sure" way too soon and was way too agreeable. So I asked him what he wanted. A new remote control car with a price tag of about $500!!! Told him if he spent that much money on a "toy" then I got to spend that much money on tarot!!! We are now in the negotiation process of how much each of us gets to spend on our interests. LOL :-)
This tells me that even though he doesn't "get it" he is starting to accept it.

My husband is sooooo sceptical in all aspects of the 'unknown' he especially thinks the tarot is alot of hogwash!...but in saying that...he bought me the Sacred Circle Tarot for christmas and he supports my pro reading venture, and he is amazingly quite encouraging too..
I think it is good for everyone to have their own interests and it's also a great feeling to have someone close to you support it, (even if they do not believe in it themselves...;))
Cheers

my husband started out very accepting of it...in fact i think it was my eccentricisms that attracted him to me.
about 8 or so years later, he suddenly hated it. thought i was hurting our children by exposing them to the tarot and my beliefs. wanted me to stop or at least hide it.
5 years later and he has just begun to accept and maybe even appreciate my interests. he is trying to make up for his past attitudes. this solstice he purchased four decks and four tarot books for me.
.... in a couple of years he may even believe, hahaha.

I completely understand the $500 amount for the remote control car. My husbands hobby is model railroading. His last "important" train that we bought was $1200. (And it sits in a case looking pretty. *L*)
Most of them run 100-500 depending on when it was made. (i have told him that christmas is a wonderful time to expand his collection.)
So me buying a tarot or two won't be that big of a deal... small change compared to his hobby! *L*

I would never tell my bf....He would freak!! Although, I sorta suspect that he knows. He has never mention anything, and neither have I. I would feel uncomfortable doing him a reading.
