A story and a warning

If you are like me you'll find an important message for your spiritual path in this story:

--

Once upon a time a young man called Till came to a city and found out that the University was celebrating a Scientifical Congress. Wise men from all over the world attended this Congress. The Government had lodged them in magnificent mansions in the same city.

Till thought it was a great chance to find a place to live without having to work. So he went to the wise men residence and presented himself as a great scientist. He was well received and lodged.

The next day the Dean announced to the Congress the presence of a wise young man that had just arrived from afar. Two illustrious wise men preceded him on the stage, and their theories were very succesful. When they finished, Till sat on the stage and told the Dean he could answer any question.

-OK -the Dean said-, tell me how much water is in the sea.

Till answered:
-Stop all the rivers that flow into it and remove all the clouds from the sky, and I will tell you the exact measure.

The wise men looked at each other because they couldn't believe what they had heard. The Dean was starting to get angry, but he asked again:
-Where is the center of the Earth?

Till answered quickly:
-The center of the Earth is where I'm standing right now. If you don't believe it then find it yourself.

The scientists were stupefied and angry, specially the Dean, who was about to stop the Congress. Till's answers were indisputable, but they were certainly not scientific.

The Dean gave Till one more chance and asked:
-What is the distance from the Earth to the Sky?

-Oh! -Till answered- very little indeed. You can hear from above all the things below, and from below all the things above. Can't you hear the thunders? If you go up now you will hear me perfectly.

In anger, the Dean considered the debate was innapropiate and ended the session.
The wise men criticized the young man for his impertinence and started to leave the room. But the common people were amazed of his wit and applauded him. They recognized in Till the most eminent of all the wise men and acclaimed him.

The Dean and two other scientists observed the people's enthusiasm and said:
-There he is. From now on he will be the most famous of the wise men that have existed for this people. Common people often confuses witty words with true wisdom. Let's go.

And the Dean and the two wise men left the room.
