One day, my good friend & I went down to his mums place for the night. The next day he placed his dad's ashes in an ern to be placed in the back garden/pond. As he was placing his dads ashes in the ern I felt a weird sensation come over me & I felt spooked out. I said to my friend "your dads around you & your mum, I feel him, he's in the garage" as soon as mum walked out of the garage this sensation left? I then said to Paul " your dads around your mother" I felt weird for a few minutes afterwards.
A few days later I was doing a reading on a new friend, I don't know her very well & I came to the end of my reading & again I felt this "odd sensation" I could feel someone around her. I said to her "you have a grand parent in spirit, I feel its a grand mother, your dad's mother?" She was surprised & said "yes. that's right. I was talking to my mother about my grandmother today at lunch. That's weird" Again, I spooked myself out & couldn't read anymore cards for the night or the next day. I tried to do my friends cards today, but I believe that I've put up a wall & I can't open myself up to read the cards as I fear feeling this weird sensation again. I can't see anyone, just feel someone is around a person. Does this make sense??

My real father died when I was 11 and I felt his presence many times. Sometimes very strongly and sometimes just a whisper. I knew it was him. I think he was just worried about us and wanted to make sure we would be ok.
When I was 13 my Mom met my stepfather, whom I call my Pa now. The most wonderful loving caring man you could imagine. After he came into our lives I never felt my father's pressence in the house again. I think that my father knew that this man would take very good care of his family and that he could now move on in peace.
Much Luv,
Mimers

That's really nice Mimers. I'm glad that your step father is a good man. Perhaps your father sent him in to look after the family?

Oh... I've not felt anything like that before, and if I have, I choose to ignore it, to brush it off. It frightens me too much - cheeky, how did you deal with it? And how did your friend manage it? I have to admit that death frightens me. I don't want to live forever, but the thought of life leaving chills me.

Well its a weird sensation. Its kind of like when your home alone & you feel someone is in the house & you can't see them? Well not to that extreme. lol But you get the jift. I don't know how to deal with it, that's why I freak out & can't do readings for a few days afterwards. Yes. I must admit death frightens me too, just the fact of knowing that everythings going to end one day......

There's a filipino superstition that, when you think you see someone in the room out of the corner of your eye, and you look, and no one's there - that means that there's a spirit in the room and you have to tell it hello or it will be slighted and haunt you. I freak myself out very well. I don't touch Ouija boards. Hope you learn how to deal with it... don't want any 6th sense repeat happening to you.

You shouldn't be frightened - these seem to be people who love your friends. While the first instinct is to be frightened, like looking at someone who is hideously deformed, we must move past the first feeling and look deeper. Being able to sense the presence of a departed loved one is a gift. And your third eye must be very open to sense that - so don't put your cards away! Rather, ask the spirit if they wish to tell the person something, and maybe use your cards to help the communication.
I'm very jealous. The only spirits I sense are the people who used to live in my trailer. Harmless, but I think they died of smoke somehow.
I would love to communicate with my Nana & Papa, but I think they must have moved on.

This is something that happens to me half the time. It is normal and only once and a while does it get "spooky" and then usually for some reason. I find one can get more sensitive to these things if they are working on visualisation projects, using real people or composite memes.
Many times it is an active component in my readings and is OK so long as one is careful in what they do.
One must remember that if one is like a fire, it draws some for warmth and keeps the animals away. Just use the right kind of wood and burn.

I am not a professional reader...and though I have read for friends and family...I have not experienced this in readings...but most of the readings I do are for myself...and there are spirits all around me...my guides/guardians/teachers...they will often help me in understanding the msg. from the cards...usually bringing up correspondences I had not considered...that aha/tingling feeling often occurs and I do have them pop in... in many ways...
Almost everywhere I am...I am sensitive to spirit...seeing...hearing...feeling...knowing...sensing...it is rarely "spooky" but I have felt that ocassionally...and when that happens it's easy to scare yourself...centering...deep/full breaths and knowing that I am never alone but always protected and loved has helped me tremendously...
the advice from FULL DECK on lighting your fire is profound and very practical...so well said...and the potential for using all this added information in a reading I would consider a blessing...
I often get information to pass along... and it comes in many forms...and from many sources...many ways...use your own compassion and intuition once you have moved past the fear for handling this...as it is a great responsibility...and will usually make sense and be helpful to the people it is intended for...so be aware...

I play Ouija Board about 4 times. I usually send them back home and destroy the materials used.
Not long ago, after bathing while i was changing, a long sleeve shirt was waving to me..then i faster ran out of the room. After 1 month on the same day, i saw a shadow on the floor waving to me. And after 1 month again -.-' i heard a sound very clearly behind me, "pss pss". I thought is lizards or sound made by someone outside. Then only i realized that no one outside and the sound is so obvious behind me when no one is behind me!!
Some people might say im too "imaginative". But i didnt realize that is happened on the same date every month only after the 3 incidents happen. It was at the 15th of Lunar during full moon. And whenever at that time, without looking at the calender, i know is a full moon. I can sense a feeling of the moon looking at me. I know that the full moon is staring at me. I dont know why..but i can sense the feeling. Anyone can tell me what's happening?

Cheeky,
Am interested to know if you use an prayer/incantation prior to your readings? Do you use any kind of grounding method or any type of calling on the Tarot guides before you read?

No. I simply sit down with the person ask them to shuffle the cards & off I go :) Its weird, its only ever happened a few times.

Cheeky,
I often have this feeling during readings. Sometimes it happens when I am least expecting it; whilst in an exam, or in class, LOL! It is nothing to be frightened of, and I consider those who have this 'gift' to be very lucky indeed. You must be very sensitive to spirit around you.
However, an important point. You must ground, and protect yourself before, during, and after reading tarot.

Strange but true yes. Yes it does. I get the same feeling when i do a reading for myself or anyone. Usually males. I feel there is a male around. Strange i know but it never stoped me from reading it it made me kind special. Before I do a spell or a fortune reading i always get the sense of spirits around me. I am used to the feeling and contacts with them. I only contact them when they call for me like last night.
I wear 24/7 protection aroung me so i dont get hurt

cheeky, it sounds to me like your a natural medium!
Myself, I'm psychic (I prefer intuitive because to me, that's what we all are), but I'm not a medium.
However, like Ravenal said, I do sometimes get messages to pass along and when I get them they usually come at random times when my mind is resting (say I'm knitting, showering or whatever). They're like a ~zing~ of energy and I will know beyond a doubt that I need to tell whomever what I've received (for me, it's usually karmic related information, not spirits communication ... but it has been both).
With one friend, this was happening so frequently that all I had to say was "I've had another message from beyond the beyonds for you," and he knew what I meant immediately and would listen attentively.
If these happenings continue to frighten you, I would encourage you to consider adding more prayer work, in whatever way that you choose to pray, for your own spiritual protection and guidance. You may wish to address God, or the Divine Source, or your own Inner Teachers. Just whatever way you connect to a source of spiritual love, worship and protection.
If you get used to these occurances, you may begin to find them a rewarding side of your own psychic abilities that you wish to develop. Best wishes to you, no matter what! :)

it's rather disconcerting when spirits decide to let us notice them...often, people will get a chill or the hairs on their body will stand up out of nowhere and they do not know what it is...but it is often just a spirit near us...i think it is wonderful, Cheeky, that you have been able to pass along information to people you've done readings for...so long as you do not get a negative feeling from it (meaning, so long as the discomfort is only b/c it's something new, and not b/c it feels "wrong"), then i wouldn't worry about "protection"...if crystals are what interests you, try black tourmaline for protection...just a piece in the pocket works wonders...
myself, i've been "aware" of spirits for years (since early childhood) and have helped a few "wanderers" pass over...i come from a family of psychics/mediums, so it wasn't too disconcerting as i had my family to turn to for advice...although none of them read Tarot, i was drawn to it and have been using it (along w/other things) for quite some time...i've never had someone come through while reading though, so go figure! LOL...guess it's just "not in the cards" for me (as of yet)...
good luck w/your new talent...and remember, it is your choice whether you wish to develop it or not...if you do not feel comfortable w/it, it's ok to put it aside (at least for the time being)...and if you do wish to develop it, there is plenty of guidance out there...my best to you, Cheeky! :)
many blessings to all...
