Spirit Guides

Do you have a spirit guide? How did you first contact them? What part do they play in your life? Do they help you make decisions, give you information not otherwise available? What do you know about their "lives" when they're not helping people in this dimension? In Marion Weinstein's, "Earth Magic," her book of shadows, hers seem to help her as a writer. Allibee told me how to find one based on guided meditation in which the meditator goes to a field where there is a group of "people," one of which will be your guide. I guess I'm a little confused about the whole concept and I hoped I could clear it up with an AT discussion. Best wishes, Red Emma

i am a universal channel, able to channel angels, archangels and masters,, yet i been out of pratice lol as i can't figure out what to channel on as it is all been said already by other channels. i first contacted them through writing as taught by the book ask your angels, and how to talk to your angels. i learn the other stuff through the book opening to channel. though i haven't actively channel in a while i am alwasy seeing them in the background trying to give me wisdom. they are like trust friends. they don't help me with real life pratical decisions as they say i dont' listen lol. but rather when i ponder spiritual matters that is the area where they can reach me. i dont' know if they give me information not otherwise available,, would have to check out my old channeling thread in spirituality. nay the angels are angels who sit there and wait for those who seek guidance. (they are the answering angels as the other angels have their mission given to them by the creator) the guides on the other hands i see them in a circle, amplying each other loves and energy and focusing on the earth planes they are like a council of light , who give more personal answers to those i channel for they commented on. yes many guides come in as per the soul contract and say we would like yo to do this and that yet it may not be possible so we have these alternatives avaible. to this degree it is always dependant on how wisdom, and power the person asking for guidance will give to the guides. example a high loving guide of the light will empower the channel offering them choices, probilities and leaving the choice in the channel hands. (that frequently is what happens to me i havne't yet got the voice that says go to so and sso and meet a person) there are many ways of reaching a guide from meeting them in your happy place, to telepahty ,, to going upwards, and inwards. i myself i prefer to raise my vibration,, go upwards, and surround myself with light (it makes the channel more acessible to them so they can be effective and efficent in the light they are beaming to my soul) there are three levels of channeling for example. conscious(sanaya roman) semi conscious. (i never been half way yet so i got no name to add to this as no experience to share in this regard) and unconscious (think edgar crayce, jane roberts) if you be a subscriber you can do a holmes name, channeling keyword search to reach my channeling thread. can get many many books on the subject too. ask your angels. how to talk to your angels. channeling what it is and how to do it opening to channel being your higher self edgar crayce on being your higher self. ted andrews has guide books out there. Hi, Heres a strange tale.. the first guide I was introduced to was Ughe, thru the ouiji board...He watches over me and is represented by an Eagle (confirmed by a channeler..and meditaiton). The second was a bit stranger, every reader (channeller) kept asking me who Denis was. Come to find out (thru 1 of my readers and my Reiki 1 attunment) Denis is one of my guides, he is represented by the Crow. He brings me messages. Thru the Reiki attunment and meditation, I found out there is, Ughe, Dennis, a dear (possibly Stephen) and a Skunk (possibly Kathrine). I also have my Guardian Angel (Phylis). My Guardian angel showed her self to one of the Channellers as Phil...she kept asking me who Phil and Denis were..kept telling me Denis was a carpenter and someone either in my life or will be very prominent in my life soon - this was before I started reading well. So, if channeller asks you about someone you don't know, it may just be one of your guides.. Blessings and again Reiki and Meditaiton introduced me to my guides myself. Cj

Hi Red Emma! I remember discussing similar topics last summer, how nice to bump into you again in this great big AT place. I contact my own Inner Teachers, but use prayer or meditation as a way of contacting them. After doing some breathing and centering, I can start posing questions to my Teachers and listening inwardly for Their response. This sounds like dream-speech, it's in my head, and sounds much like your voice of reason when it speaks loud and clear (like I have a lot of those moments ;)!) Over time, I've come to recognize certain Guides, and I have had to call some out as a request to make a more dramatic appearance in my life, if it is to my ultimate benefit to have such done and harming none. I grew impatient of waiting and called forth a guide to accompany my Shapeshifter Tarot -- something I had never even contemplated before. I find that when I get in these deeply meditative states, it becomes possible for me to work what I guess is "spontaneous magick." I focus energy and thought, and the connection becomes clearer. There are other powerful magicks that can focus intent, including sex magick (which can be an Otherworldly lover, and Spirit Guide, as well). But I will leave magick stuff to the more learned to comment on. But a Spirit lover is, obviously, a drastically different Guide than the Physician, who preaches to me on how to take care of myself when I'm suffering, either in body or mind. Both are "aspects," -- that is, I see them as intanglible and more energetically based. The other night I was in a terrible state, and desperately needed some emotional help and guidance. I called out to my Teachers and *demanded* They speak to me, because I needed them desperately and They had to be LOUD and CLEAR if I was gonna receive it. All day, I heard a guiding presence remind me to drink more water, eat a banana to replace my lost electrolytes, and basically guide me step by step through one of my more difficult days. This can be a fantastic thing to learn to do, and quite helpful. I believe we all have Teachers who act as a type of Spirit Guide, in various ways. I journal a lot (well ... less of late, forsooth), and I think writing is introspective and helpful for many who are comfortable with that process. I don't consider myself a channel though, as Holmes is. I see that as a very different methodology, as he some eloquently explained already. Some people, like my friend Joanne (or "Madeleine," who came up in our last discussion) contact Their Teachers through journalling, seeking all kinds of more esoteric information. Joanne isn't on the computer (like ... ever) so I doubt she would resurface to join this discussion, unfortunately. She would have a lot to contribute I think. Naming these Guides, or giving Them identities or aspects, is helpful. I regularly sense the presence of one whom I simply call, "She Who Stands Behind the Decks" and it is She who often speaks to me and guides me when I read cards. Other guides I don't name, I just consider Them my spiritual "physicians" of sorts, and turn to them for guidance when needed (like I mentioned). I hope sharing some of my own work is helpful, and hope to hear more responses. Each path is unique, so it's helpful to examine others' in finding your own way. Namaste!

Thanks to all of you. I'm taking down the names of the books which Holmes recommended so I can get them. Alissa, I remembered our discussion, especially Madeliene's input. I'm afraid I couldn't remember your names (more senior moments than I care to think about), so I'm delighted to be in touch with you again. I have the Shape Shifters' Tarot, but after some initial problems in trying to work with it I've laid it aside thinking that I'd settle down and give it some serious study before trying it again. Unfortunately, I haven't as yet. I really love the artwork, I think it's fabulous. Somehow I feel drawn to it, so I'm sure that when I give it some serious attention, we'll be fast friends. My husband's working out of town for a couple of days, and I suspect that now when I have the house to myself is a very good time to see if I can make contact. And Meatbox, thanks for reminding me that for Christians (which I no longer am), I suspect that Jesus is the ultimate spirit guide. Goddess Bless, RE
