I've been told that I have 3 guides.
- One is a nun (alot of ppl joke & ask me If i'm going to become a nun, or if I was a nun. I don't practise any religion)
- two is a Buddist monk (??I like asian food & collect bits & pieces?)
- three is an Indian Cheif (explains my fascination with dream catchers, protectors etc)
I went to a psychic confrence a month ago & a lady there drew peoples spirit guides. I saw a few indians & angelic looking females.

I have been told by more than one tarot reader that there is an old woman around me as my spiritual guide. I don't know how she is but I am thankful for watching over me. :)

I never even thought about guides until the early/mid '90's, when I went to a pyschic reader. The first time I was there, she said I was surrounded by three strong women - and went on to name them - an Amelia and 2 Evelyns. She said it was curious that she saw and felt no male presence around me.
The names were extremely significant to me.
1. Amelia was my great grandmother, whom I never met, as she died when my mom was 17. My name is a derivitive of hers, + her & my mom's middle name. My mom was very, very close to her grandmother.
2. Evelyn #1 was my father's mother, whom I never met as she died when my father was 8. My father idolized his mother, and I don't think ever really accepted her death.
3. Evelyn #2 was my stepmother, whom I was very, very close to, and this comment confused me for quite some time. But after she died, I can feel her presence.
I found it strange but comforting that these womean who were beloved by my parents - and me, later on - were watching over me.
About 2 years after this visit to the reader, I was given the wedding portraits of my paternal grandparents (Evelyn #1). I am the spitting image of her! And my stepmom had no children of her own, but several times when I went to visit her, people thought I was her biological daughter. I don't see any resemblance between me & my maternal great grandmother, but my mother does, and she'd know.....
Someone told me recently (Marion. maybe?) that protective spirits who are related are almost never parents - they usually skip a generation.
Now, do I feel their presence? Well, not all the time, but I do find myself thinking about them frequently.

I wish I knew them all, but the only one that I really know and has been confirmed is Jaguar. Not the black Jaguar, but the yellow one. She has been with me for a very long time. She is the ancient Mayan Shaman/wounded healer. She is very quiet, but always there protective, watching :) I never expected to have an animal spirit as my guide, but hey I can relate to animals more than people most of the time :) Now I did meet an old native woman in a dream not long ago and she helped me create rain and thunder with the aid of a goddess that I can't recall the name of too well. I don't know if she is a guide exactly, however she was very wise, I may come to know more in time *s* I also have Spider and Snake as life animal totems which are also guides. I believe Unicorn is also a soul totem of mine as well. Pegasus has always been around for me as well. Other guides, mostly animal spirits it seems! Come in and out of my life.

Very diverse guides, cheeky. :)
I've never actually thought on this subject before... how do you find a spirit guide, really? If it were an animal, I'm sure mine would be a cat - my cat Ivy, specifically. But exactly what is a guide... and how do you know it's yours?

A clairvoyant should be able to tell you who your guides are. They can be anyone or anything. Not too sure how it all works.....but they are called "guides" because they help guide you in the right direction? hehe They reflect on your life as well, as I noted on my first post.

I don't know if this is a spirit guide or angel, but I feel I DO have a guardian angel who helps me only when I say it out loud.
For example, I'm really bad at interviews, and today the interviewer mentioned he wanted me to do this exercise for him to test my "analytical ability"......while he was out of the room, I prayed very hard that I'd do fine.......
Needless to say, I didn't get that "test", and I was offered the part-time job immediately on the spot.

I don't like others telling me who's guiding me. I guess my guides want me to connect to them theirselves...
Once, some psychic woman told me that my grandpa was watching me and guiding me (she first said grandma, but changed it when I told her both my gramma's are still alive...). At that very moment, I knew that wasn't the case...

Upon the first time I did one of my psychic developments exercises, I met Rashad or Ashad (one of them) he had on the "arabian knights" attire . Very cool guy, young (looked 18 to me!!). Seemed to like techno music and said stuff like "wassup?"!!!
Got a glimpse of a husky dark haired viking looking man also.
And an old old man, with a beautiful long grey beard, wears a white robe of some sort. This one was the first I met up with, he led me to the staircase I was going to.
The latter 2 I don't know really know if they are my guides, but the Arabian guy sure did stick around.

Tarotphelia, as to how it was confirmed it was after my guide revealed herself to me. I needed a confirmation by a third party. I knew it was a jaguar, I had a woman who does animal spirit readings and said that Jaguar showed up as the animal spirit who was with me. I needed that validation. I think that reading was done about 3 months after Jaguar appeared. Now if another animal spirit shows up, I don't bother with readings to confirm it anymore.

Hi ReveurPoetique!
This particular one was the chakra/tunnel staircase exercise in the John Edwards' audio set, you go through all the beautiful colors, one blending into the next. Which reminds me, I saw the viking looking guy in the blend of the red and orange. The staircase leads you to your psychic room, where you go to whenever you do a reading. Some neat stuff in that room that corresponds to our senses. I dunno If I can list alot of information about the CDs here, but you can PM me if you'd like.
There is actually a specific "meeting your guides" cd within the set but I got alot of visitors just going through this chakra staircase.

i have a Mexican Shaman/healer woman, she is a treasure and can be as sassy as me!! :) she lived in the 70's and is fabulous.
also a Native American chief is one of my guides, but i don't know how to connect with him so well, and know nothing about him (can't find any information even though he was related to a very famous, highly publicized chief) so i'm pretty at a loss with how to benefit from this relationship!
and i have a guide that comes to help me with tarot readings, though i know nothing about this guide either.
i'm sure there are others, but as of yet pretty unclear about them.

I have been trying to contact my guides for some time now. Have started a psychic development class in hopes of getting in tune with my abilities....
I got in contact with a reader at another site and he told me that he was also did channeling. I asked him if it was possible to find out about my guide. Just last night I got his reply and was pleasantly surprised in what he told me....
My guide is called Mabu and his is an african man, and the Bahamas and tropical island was mentioned alot, with a sole palm tree leaning towards the ocean.
I have ALWAYS loved the beach and am always being called there. The desktop wall paper on my computer is (right now as we speak) a tropical island with palm trees, one off to the side leaning towards the ocean!!....I have ALWAYS been attacted to black men, and found that they seem to be attracted to me as well! I don't know what all this means, but my next class we are doing a meditation to meet our guides and I am very excited about this process.
I have tried to meditate to meet my guides but to no avail as yet. I'm still trying and I'm sure they will come through when they feel the time is right for me. I just hope it's soon as I CAN'T WAIT!!
Blessings
Joe-Anne
