Why are we here?

We are all here to learn valuable lessons on earth, once completed our souls pass over. We evalute our life & decide when we want to come back. We are all born with a blue print, meaning we have chosen our path in life.......We always come back to what is familar, hence our family & friends. We have all shared numerous lives with the people that are in our lives. The older the soul is the harder our next life shall be.

Yes. Sometimes we do remember things from a past life, sometimes we wonder why we do things or act in a manner.....our sub conscious is remembering something from a past life. For e.g In a previous life in Spain i was burnt at the stake for being a white witch.....that explains why I fear reading tarot cards, even though I have always been blessed with the gift. I must realise I am in a different time & everything will be ok! Hmm, sounds interesting....but did it really happen? I'll know once I pass over.......

I'd love to hear, well read from people who can add more light onto this matter!

Hi Minx,

I'm not quite sure why I'm here except right now to say hello to another Aussie.

I'm going to go away now and do my usual ponder about the meaning of it all. I don't really know.

The joy of the Tarot and of astrology is that both of these things open the doors of perception and understanding a little bit more.

Blessings,

Moongold

Ya..why? We are born and suffer so much then we die. And this becomes a cycle. Born,Suffer and Die. Why not- Born, Enjoy and Die? Or Born and Die? Why should we suffer? Whats the point being the world richest guy and whats the use after u die?

Kiama  17 Mar 2003
Coldsuns: I am of the opinion, that it IS Born, Enjoy, Die, Reborn, Enjoy, Die. We are constantly given choices in life which could lead to enjoyment and happiness. It is up to us then, whether we suffer or enjoy, not fate, nor is it the fault of life. Of course, sometimes there are occurrances we cannot control, which cause pain, but we have the choice here too: We can either wallow in pain and self-pity, or learn from the bad experience, and move on, wiser and happier.

I don't know why we're here, but I do know that we have choices to make.

I agree with you Kiama. It's your own responsibilty to choose between 'suffer' and 'enjoy'. I've suffered a lot before I discovered that. You're alive, so you'd better make the best of it.

And if you look carefully, altough sometimes it may be hard to see, you will see how beautiful life can be. Because it can be amazing. Everyone can learn to see that.

And what's the purpose? No-one knows. Maybe there is none, but to enjoy it. Maybe there is one, and then we will find that out when the time is right.

In the meantime: enjoy!

Ok! So let the pain be a different type of enjoyment too! It depends on you whether to treat a pain as as enjoyment or a suffer. ^_^

For me, there's only two reasons to be alive: fun and learning.

I do try to live my life this way. Either I'm having fun or I'm learning something or I'm doing both at the same time. :D

The times when I'm not having fun or learning something are the times when I'm miserable. So I increasingly find I don't have time for anything except for fun and learning.

Life its both, suffering and enjoying it. And even if we dont like it, thats necesary to make balance in our lives. Everything has a good side and a bad one, and the experience of living its not different on this. Withouth bad moments, you cant really appreciate the good ones. So, Coldsuns, the point its not about see pain like something to enjoy. Instead of that its something to experience and to learn from it.
Just remember that the way you feel about problems and the things surrounding you, just depends on the way you look at it. The process is this: something happens--> you perceive it and process it in your mind --> you feel one way or another about the subject. (What makes different the feeling is your own mind).

And for the original question on the topic, i think we are in this life both to learn and to help the others.
Cheekyminx, i dont think you can know for sure if something happened in a past life or not, mainly because you also cant know if past lifes really exist. But you can feel if thats true or not.
In a book im reading now, it talks about making regresions and points how to change bad experiences in past lifes that we believe are afecting our actual life. Dont remember the title now, but i can look on it if you are interested in this topic.

Well.....I don't think enjoying pain is really 'enjoyment'. Pain does happen, but I don't let it rule my life & don't try to turn it into something that it's not. My sig. other was exposed to chemicals that were supposed to kill him in 3 years--we went through a lot with that, yet found a way out (doctor treatments were ineffective, we turned to European medicine, herbals) that has kept him alive now for 6 years. He's got a curtailed lifespan, yet he IS alive & able to do most things. We both had depression over it but have turned things around enough to enjoy life. Pets help a lot when you need to refocus. Is there enjoyment in life? Most strongly YES.

I'm sorry Coldsuns that your life is more pain than joy. It can overwhelm & change a life outlook, I know. Changing it back can be even harder, but it's worth it. I wish your life HAD more fun in it. Or something to help you out with.

The last 5 or 8 years here in the states has been harder on people around us than anything previous, from the economy to stress to heavier workloads....I see friends who loose jobs due to budget cuts, others who are doing the work of 3 when they stay in jobs that are cutting staff, to those whose bank accounts are lower now because there's been no raises for anyone in 3 years at their place of employment yet food & bills pile higher. Life is rough. The ones who weather it best are the ones who still see things to enjoy & to feel good about.

It comes down to the individual I guess. And their outlook on life in general. On their support group of friends & family, on having something in life that they enjoy doing & can have fun with.

Just want to second Tom! Well-written and well-thought-out.

Don't pass over his advice just because it isn't a big, dense impressive paragraph. He manages to say a great deal in a very few words!

++++++++

People who are bored ( especially in this day and age! ) only have themselves to blame for it.
