Hi everybody
Has any of you used a divination method to find out your life purpose?
I did, and found it's really helpful to know why are you here on Earth. I used tarot, using a 2 card spread and I drew 5 of Coins + 6 of Coins, which for me means "help the suffering". I had felt that was one of my goals before, but with the spread all became clearer.
I'm interested on your experiences on this. Please tell me if you know your life purpose and how did you find out.

I was told by a psychic I trusted (and still do) that my life purpose included no karmic payback, but that I had agreed to return to serve and assist, especially on the spiritual level, as well as counsel.
This felt right to me, since I've been the mediator/psychologist/peacmaker/negotiator/communicator all my life. I see this same ultimate goal as part and parcel with why I read cards, which helps ground me and gives me purpose (it's my motivation, to get Method on you).

I too was told by my clairvoyant that I'm here to "heal people" that I will work in the area of healing. Working with people whos relationships, marriages have ended. Helping out & assisting people with their problems in life. I've also been told that i have healing hands??? My friends tell me I give excellent massages....but what exactly does "healing hands" mean??

I tried the 2 card spread & got the Hermit & the 8 of Pentacles. I could interpret that a couple of ways:
I am here as a student of inner truth, and/or my purpose is to explore the inner wisdom & bring it into material form somehow.

I've been wondering the same thing myself - kind of wandering around lost and hopeless, feeling like the Hanged Man. So I asked the Symbolon deck, and I got:
The Jester,
Matter & Spirit,
and Caring.
Each card makes sense. The Jester is Aquarius, my rising sign. I'm also quite a muck-racker, anti-authoritarian, socialist, rebel.
Not sure about Matter & Spirit - though as a reader and a teacher, maybe it means I should do more of that to earn a living?
And caring I guess means I need to help people heal their inner child.
Still working on it anyway. I wasn't sure if it was OK to post in the "Your Readings" board b/c it wasn't Tarot.

I had someone do a destiny reading for me, they told me I was a light bearer...
I haven't figured out what that is yet.
Need to do some searching I guess.

I do not want to be a cynic... but I get the feeling that everybody has the same purpose in life, or at least is told that by so called counselors. Healing and teaching seem to be very popular...
Maybe I shouldn't be so critical, maybe the purpose of humans on this planet in genaral is to teach and heal. But I still would like to hear from someone who's life purpose wasn't about that...

Consider your demographics, who is being asked this question ... a bunch of tarot readers, who truly believe in what they do.
Go figure ....

you're right about that... many of us go to tarot cards to solve other people's problems...
but I trust myself more than I trust psychics and clairvoyants, cause they'll usually tell you what you want to hear. They will never tell you that you were some insignificant person in a past life... usually they'll tell you you were some king, or emperor or magician... something romantic...
I'm not a skeptic. But I know there are many charlants out there. Trust yourself. What does your heart tell you?
I think that humans have two purposes here on Earth: the most important is to be happy. To achieve happiness is something that will take a lifetime. The second is to discover our Gifts and to use them for common good.
At least that's what I believe.

i agree, alissa. of course, you have to have lots of ppl who want to be helped and taught by these healers and teachers. if you doubt this go to some of the online support groups for disabled ppl. then there are career criminals or psychopaths--there's always exceptions but i doubt all these folks are here to elevate humanity.
