Hi, Coldsuns. Thanks for the info. I am a newbie to this neat place & have enjoyed reading your words.
I am very much into symbology of nature. One of my books is Animal Speak by Ted Andrews. I think you might like it. Andrews is a very Magickal healer/writer who delves into various types of magick, including gemstones and light. But his understanding of animal Medicine, as the Native Americans' call it, is outstanding.
Hope you get a chance to read it. - skytwig

Coldsun,
My guides showed themselves as animals (or as having an animal that symobized them-their role I think). I have an Eagle, a Crow, a Dear, and a Skunk.
The website you linked us is wonderful, evey bit of information I get about my guides animal symbol the better off I am.
THANK YOU..
CJ

animals can be spirit guides or spirit helpers. one might be with us most of our life, or just for a few days.
sometime an animal may hang around just to give us a message for now, for the present time. when the message is recieved or learned, it may move on.
it is worth paying attention to any animal that you are drawn to or seems drawn to you, 'guide' or not.
imho, 'liking' or being 'attracted' to a particular animal does not necessarily mean it's your guide. when i met mine, i was totally surprised. i hadn't a clue. needless to say, this animal has now become my favorite.

Wow, what an honor!!! Crow represents Spirit. Its presence always calls us to our Inner Light!!!
Go with your gut on this. Explore it. what does your spirit say? Do you dislike the idea? Black is a holy color. It is the Unknown, the Mystery, the Essence of spirit.
Personally, i would be honored to have a crow and a black cat following me around!!!!

One night before I went to sleep I asked to see which animal(s) were my "totem animals". That night I dreamt about a heard of elephants. Totally not what I thought.
I also feel a strong connection with cats.
And I have been feeding a crow on my balcony the two last winters. He will almost let me touch him now. He only flys away when my hand is an inch away from his feathers.

have any of you ever read 'His dark materials' by Phillip pullman? In Lyra's world everyone has a deamond which changes with their mood. It's in an animal shape. and stops changing when they bcome 13/14ish. Is that the same thing?

Hiya,
Certainly have read "His Dark Materials" trilogy - absolutely brilliant IMHO! Draws on Milton's "Paradise Lost" and quite a few other writers, but manages to create a totally unique work, in both tone and plot - absolutely fabulous!
By the way, on the subject of animal familiars, I've just purchased, and am about half way through, "Familiars" by Anna Franklin - useful for us Brits, as it takes a British Celtic look at animal familiars and folklore rather than a North American one...I'm enjoying the book, and am about to try some of the pathworking scenarios it provides...anyone else read it/tried it out?
Best wishes to all,
Wildwood

Pullman--he did that Compass trilogy, right? I read the first two but couldn't find the third, I know it's out but they never have it at Barnes & Noble.
