For some time now, I've been reading along, making mental notes to comment on different readings and topics, etc. but have just not been able to 'tune in' to the baser self (for lack of a better term) and have been unable to collect my thoughts long enough to actually make sense of anything much deeper than what to make for supper. Even then, I ask the kids. *laughs*
A lot of this has stemmed from being so far along in the pregnancy, but it's still starting to do things to me. It's just not a good thing to be able to communicate well with the God and Goddess for this length of time. (It's been a couple months now since having any pure contact.) At this point I can't even scry - which usually takes all of 30 seconds or less for me to fall into. Meditation is completely out of the question. It's a little difficult to try when getting beat up from the inside out.
The most frustrating thing might be not being able to read the cards. Without that basic connection, there's nothing there but pictures. I understand that this does happen from time to time, and is no big deal, but there's a situation or two I've been really wanting some advice on. These are things that either get asked now, or make the decision without the insight of the cards and just hope for the best. I'd personally rather have a little help than to go it blind - both are things that, if done, will be around for a long time. Possible the rest of my life for one of them.
Ah well...
*end rant*

Cricket, how far along are you? I can totally sympathize, when I was pregnant I was so absent-minded, I couldn't even remember simple things like how old I was, my phone number, etc. Not to mention the lack of sleep in the last trimester! One time the little guy kicked me really hard right in the bladder...it was a good thing I was near the bathroom! Boy, those were the days...

Myabe you can at least get a good connection with the Goddess by using your preganancy to sympathise with hers, your motherhood as a reflection of the Great Motherhood

Oh Cricket!
It sounds as if the little one is jamming your psychic frequencies with their own developing consciousness!

The baby, the baby, the baby... Sheesh! As if nothing else matters at this point! Well, yeah, so it really doesn't. :) It just gets really annoying that the first thing anybody asks about is the baby when it's not even here yet. Oy! *laughs* Of course, it doesn't help when a person looks like a stick with a beach ball stuck on it.
*ahem* Anyway. I'm in the last trimester now, due the very beginning of May. That means I'm about 7 months or so along. About the time when any coherent thought goes flying out the window anyway. Or gets sucked down the tubes and into the little monster, whichever. This one really hasn't been all that bad yet in regards to losing sleep and kicking bladders. The other two were much bigger by this point and much more lively.
Liliana - You've got a point there! Maybe that's what this is all about... hmm....
attached: pic of me taken this morning (a stick and beach ball) :D

cricket,
i feel that you're meant to concentrate on your connection w/the baby and reflect on the whole Goddess and woman connection. you've got a lot of psychic energy within you w/the little one and it's not going to let up until the arrival. so it's probably blocking you from using your "powers" correctly. (have you watched Charmed at all? piper is "pregnant" and her powers are all messed up from being w/child and a 1/2 angel at that!)...just a thought.
i get like that too since i've been on the pill. i feel more connected once my hormones go to normal and i get my flow. i have to work on meditating cause i can't sit still for more than 5 minutes and my visualization for spells and meditation are just about nill. i've been thinking about going off the pill to have the psyhic and intuitive connection again but i don't look forward to dealing w/the symptoms of PMDD. and dealing with my "partners" reaction to my irrational behavior w/o the pill.
look at this time as a time of reflection of where you want your craft to take you and your relationship w/your baby and your Goddess.
Peace and Blessed Be!

I'll just wait until they restock the salad and baked potato bars. :D Not to mention the fact that the local Pizza Hut has my name and number memorized, along with the order and total. They've been nice enough to add a roll of tums in for free the last three times, too. *laughs*
This little one doesn't like it when I try to meditate, though. Gets awfully restless if I sit still for more than a few seconds at a time. I've even learned to move around and roll over every 30 seconds or so in my sleep - drives the hubby crazy.

cricket,
have your tried a walking meditation? i do that when i'm walking around the office or out at lunch time cause my legs can't stay still...issues i'm working on. plus it's some exercise!
it's in most meditaiton books. i got it out of a book "the full catastrophe" by jon zabat-zihn (can't remember the last name right). there's a website too but i left the book at home. it's about stress and pain management through mindfulness but it works w/anything.
me too...the corner chinese food take out has my order plus soda and w/o memorized! no tums yet that's only after eating italian food. the sauce and cheese are a bad combo.
good luck and let me know if there's anything i can find for you and the baby.
peace and ligth,
:THP

Walking meditation... Now THERE's a thought! I've got plenty of room to do it in, too. Plenty of acreage with nothing but a couple of horses for distraction. I could kiss you! :*

Acerage and Horses. Lucky you! :)
You probably have stuff like...green grass there, instead of frozen ruts and too much dirty snow!
As to your voltage question, yes, it's pretty much just like that. Circuit overload. That will go away when birth occurs. Although the psychic link has been forged, individuation will occur. You'll be you, and the kid will be themself, but the psychic bond will always be there. You'll get used to it.It's something that's there, but doesn't take your mind over the way it does now. Me and my mom have it going on, no matter how old I get. And I have it with my dad too, but not in the same way.
And you may notice that the mares will be extremely supportive of you at this time. Horse gestation periods are longer than ours, and if anyone can sympathise, it's them.
It probably seems like you've been pregnant forever at this point, but remember this...Sooner than you think, you will be able to lie on your STOMACH if you want to!

OH- are you vegetarian? So sorry!
When I was pregnant, the thought of beef actually made me sick, so my family learned to eat turkey burgers instead of hamburgers all summer long. One night I cried hysterically when I couldn't locate any chinese shrimp toast! We went to las Vegas when I was 7 months pregnant, and I ate almost the whole time! And when I wasn't eating, I had heartburn.
I hope the walking meditation helps out, you may even try to use it during labor!

*can't help but laugh* Yep! That would be me! :D The last one was over 9 lbs. and was out on the second push...
No, I'm not a vegetarian, but the thought of eating meat at the moment is just icky. *laughs* When I was pregnant with the first one, my hubby (fiancee at the time) took me to town - over 30 miles away - in a snowstorm so we could drive around and look for Fla-Vor-Ice pops. We were in town until almost midnight looking for the things. For those that don't know, Fla-Vor-Ice pops are basically Kool-Aid in plastic tubes to stick in the freezer.

cricket--
admittedly i'm male, so i don't have this experience from your end. but i did get to watch the changes go on in my wife. we always did a lot of walking-- 10 miles or 6 hours at a time wasn't uncommon; it was one of the greatest ways to have really deeper conversations.
perhaps contemplation on some of the cards with your child as central focus would work well. the empress as has been mentioned. i might suggest strength-- you gotta have a lot of this one now. crowley's version of the aeon. temperence and the lovers with your child as the angel. the chariot as the entire process of the pregnancy. the two of cups... the six of wands...
maybe even take your deck on your walk. who knows, you may get a second opinion from your 'inner child' LOL
best of everything to you and yours
raven
ps-- kind of funny-- i just noticed your 'location'. check out my signature LOL!!!

Cricket,
Very strange and wonderful things are happening to your body right now. Maybe you are connecting, but The Goddess is silent.
Maybe she wants to focus on the miracle that is going on in your body. You are carrying the life of another human being inside you.
HOW AWESOME IS THAT !!!!!
Maybe , also the cards aren't responding to you, not the other way around.
Just try to enjoy the miracle that is going inside you and, and try to relax a little !!!!!

I just wanted to tell you that you look beautiful.
Enjoy other things. I loved being pregnant. It was the most beautiful thing to feel my baby growing inside me.
And just so you don't feel so inadiquate, I was so 'off' when I was pregnant I used to misjudge the doorways and walk into walls!
I must say though, I don't miss the heartburn.

For a little clarity, have you tried visualizing your aura pulling in and settling around the baby? Then pull a tad off & while keeping the majority of it still around your midsection, extend a thin 'film' of it back out to where it belongs. It's a visualization technique & may stop some of the short circuiting that's going on. At least for a while.
