Spells and Rituals

I'm not encouraging many people to be witches and wizards. But to know some spells might be useful. Here i go.

Protection Spell for outdoor (camp or in the wild):

--Before attempting spells at night, take up a blessed object(wand) and draw a pentagram in the air. Imagine the pentagram glowing and the evil around being trapped inside until after your spells, chant:
'Hail fair moon
Ruler of the night;
Guard me and mine
Until the Light'

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rain Spell:

Stare at the cloud and say, chant and pray:
"Ancient Gods and Goddnesses,
I invoke thee
Waters from the sky,
Let it be.

I command thee now,
to thee all
Listen to my desire
Rain fall!"

Hm, about the rain spell. Have you read the topics about Wicca carefully? Unless it's a question of life and death, I wouldn't try that one...

Kiama  18 Mar 2003
I've been to the site you've got those spells from, and sorry to say, I didn't think much of it.

When you do a spell, you have to ask youself if you have the NEED to do it. If you're doing the spell just to see if you can, then maybe you need to look at your intentions a bit more carefully. When you do a spell because you REALLY need it, then you're on the right track.

In my opinion, we have enough rain where we are right now for ecosystems to stay alive and a balance to be kept within nature.

Whenever you feel the need to do a spell or ritual - first do a reading asking what the outcome of your spell or ritual will be. Based upon the outcome of your reading - you can then decide whether or not to proceed.

This way you accept the responsibility for your actions.

And perhaps even more important - remember that magick is not something you do - it is something you are.

Mylinkay Asdara  18 Mar 2003
I was also un-impressed with the site. Magick and witchcraft is a way of life, not a whim.

Athara  18 Mar 2003
I can see why people would want to try that. When one first starts reading about spells, the only thing they want to do is try, try, try. See it to believe it. What's better for that than to make it rain in a hot place? When you read more, you'll find that this is the wrong way to do it.
Spells are all about intention. I believe that when your only intention is 'to see if it works', it won't work. Be sure your intention is fed by need, and not the need to prove something, but the need to create something or change something for the better.

Love and luck,

Athara

Uh oh -.-? I didnt say anything..i just say is better to know some spells. You guys seems to be blaming me. I havent start casting any spell yet ^_^ I just post them for people to cast it in their hot countries. ~>,<~

What does whim means? Sorry =X

I dont think they just cast the spell to see whether it work. But maybe they need it and also curious about it. They might have a bit of "whether it works" but more on they need it.

Kiama  18 Mar 2003
Coldsuns, we're not blaming you at all! You have asked us lots of good questions about Witchcraft and magick, and all we're trying to do is help you as much as possible, so we're giving advice whenever we can. I apologise if the advice sounds as though we are blaming you.

Much on that site is pretty manipulative, no mention of ethics and absolutely no mention of adding 'and it harm none' to stop any spell from hurting anyone. (Their explanation of grey magic was ridiculous too--white turned black equals grey? Where did that come from?).

There are better sites online, it just takes a bit of looking.

No reflection on anyone here (I mean no trouble). Finding the best out there does take time, it's usually not on the flashy looking sites. I can recommend a few places I've found that were honestly witchcraft -- www.witchesrealm.com for one, and www.triplemoon.com is another. A site for new to the craft is www.whitemagic.com.au but there's a lot of 12-18 year olds there wanting to know how to fly Quiddich on a broomstick...*sigh*. They're out there, just gotta dig! A few on the yahoo groups board are legit too.

Not all witches use spells or do a whole lot of spell work. The knowing of spells isn't the main draw and the ones posted online often don't work because they were designed for someone else. It's always better to write your own--but look what others are using & see what's included in them before crafting your own, so you don't need to reinvent the wheel on everything.

Oh, whim means someone thinks about something casually & forgets about it in a few minutes, it's not something that's a real 'need', just a random 'want'.

coldsuns  18 Mar 2003
Is ok Kiama..hehe! I'm just kidding? =P Anyway if witches dont cast spells, what they usually do? Maybe they lead a normal life like us. Ok. But i hope to know more about a witch life in this forum. Any witches?

HudsonGray  18 Mar 2003
Yes, I'm one. Others on Aeclectic are too. You use the ability to help yourself grow as a person, to face your fears, to become who you want to be by reinforcing your self confidence & your knowledge of your inner worth & abilities. You can use magic to help speed the healing process in people or animals that are sick, to help ease pain, to help your garden & plants grow, to protect your home & family from harm. To keep your car from being broken into, etc. etc. etc.

I don't use it to make others do things that would make my life easier--that means I'd be taking on responibility for their life & actions too (I'm NOT their mom!). I've done magic unintentionally & had lasting results in that (embarrassing!) and I've only called down justice once (nonspecific) on one occasion when I DID have to resort to legal means. I accepted what the lady would deem proper to even out a bad situation deliberately done by another...he ended up getting audited by the state (whoeee! couldn't happen to a nicer guy!). Maybe I didn't 'cause' that & only have wishful thinking about it, but funny it happened a month before he caved on the lemon of a truck he deliberately covered up damage on (this was a car dealership-man did we hear horror stories from other people who'd bought from his place afterwards). Anyway, I left it in the hands of the lady to rectify wrongs, to do as she willed. Those were my words, I left it up to her.

But when it comes to formal spells, they're few & far between, I use tarot to see ahead, I honor nature, and I work on what pushes my buttons so I'm not as vulnerable. The love magic, money, fame & fortune are all things that don't interest me. I have my own life to live.

coldsuns  18 Mar 2003
You've your own life to live..but spells doesnt make you to get to another life. Spells help you in your life? And spells change your life. Though you can change your life yourself too. But spells can help you to be more success..

HudsonGray  19 Mar 2003
Yes, they can make you be more successful, but if it's artificially done, you won't be able to maintain it. I could try to be 'the boss' at work, yet if I don't have the skills to be up there & do the job, I won't be holding it very long.

I look at it as all part of life, and consider what else will be affected before I try anything specific. Yes, I can change my life myself (that's the way you're supposed to start) but when it comes to helping get some of those deep things rooted out that you don't want (like dependence on others ideas of who you are & should be) it can come in very useful.

coldsuns  19 Mar 2003
The spells will help you to be "the boss". But i think if you "maintain" the spell, you should be able to continue to be one? And you will be getting better as being a boss can learn new things.

wavebreaker  19 Mar 2003
By continuing the spell, you would not only fool everyone around you into believing you're the boss, but, more importantly, you would be fooling yourself. You might be able to continue the masquerade for a while, but in the end it won't work. You won't learn anything, because you're relying on a spell, not on doing things yourself. You can only learn by doing things yourself and by making mistakes in the process.

I would also look at the intention. Why would someone want to be the boss? Is it just for the power or because the person likes leading a team of people, inspiring them to do their work as best as possible? If it's the latter, I don't think you would need a spell, because the motivation for wanting to be a boss is inside yourself, and you will get there without a spell.

coldsuns  19 Mar 2003
Thats was just an example. Hehe. But the spell will actually help you to improve things you lack of. Trying to make you get a better idea of what you need and the spell will call you to work towards the target. During the period of working, you gain experiences. Then you will become a boss. But for those who dont use spells, they dont know what they lack of. Maybe you guys will say that they know what they lack of. But sometimes you cant see the thing that you are lacking of. It is something not very clear visible.

Kiama  19 Mar 2003
My Mum always gave me the best advice ever... And I find myself hearing her words now, more than ever, despite the fact that I have moved away from home and the words were spoken to me many many years ago... But if you were to ask my Mum the question you asked, Coldsuns, you would hear her say this...

'It doesn't matter what happens, as long as you remain TRUE TO YOURSELF. If everybody else around you, and the circumstances around you, are horrible, then at least you can take comfort in the fact that you were true to yourself, never fooled yourself, never lied to yourself or pretended to be somebody you are not. Pride in who you are, and remaining true to that, is the key.'

God, I love my Mum!

No spell can help anybody see such things. To see such things is a character trait: Objectivity, and it is up to the person to see it by themselves. You may find that many who DO use spells still find it hard to see what they lack, and thus end up performing the wrong spell, or doing it with the wrong intentions.

Seeing what we lack is something we learn as we grow older, and it is not gained through magic.

Ok..! I'm true to myself. Is just to do something not to change myself but something that you always must change. Such as fortune, luck and protection. These are something that nothing about true and false. However i take your mum's words. Great saying ^_^

i love your mum!
