Wicca and Witchcraft is not the same. Putting up extracts is supposedly illegal. And I guess that Witches Bible you are talking about is a book by the Farrars... Maybe you could try to search for it, read it, and see if it suits you? Probably you should try and grab some reference, and do some reading first, and see if the whole story can work for you as well?

Amazon.com has a "look inside" option for most books. If you click on the picture of the book, you are shown several pages from the book, usually the table of contents, the introduction and the index. It usually gives a very good idea of what a book is about and whether it appeals to you or not.

You can't expect people to type whole extracts pf books here just for sake of browsing... *lol* And it is not legal I fear.
Wouldn't it be easier to check the local library, bookshop, or big chain stores - apart from the online shops? I think it's really as simple as that, believe me...

Hi Coldsuns,
I've only looked at the Witches Bible quickly, but it goes through stuff such as this:
1) The Eight Holy Days their tradition celebrates- Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnassadh, Mabon.
2) A generally accepted Wiccan/Witchcraft view on sex
3) Magick: How to perform it, it's uses, and some theory behind it.
4) Beliefs of the religion.
5) The importance of Nature
6) The deities involved in the religion
And other stuff I can't remember.

Check the low cost book sites like www.half.com or Amazon, there's no reason to pay full price on books when you're short on cash.

Hello!
I have "A Witches Bible", not "The..." as it was actually meant as a book explaining Gardnerian Wicca. Personally I think it is a pile of excreta. The Farrarr's are not my favourite writers by a long shot, their ideas are a bit dodgy, as is there scholarship. And to top it all off the living half of the pair (which would be Janet Farrar!) actually admitted to making half of the rituals up to pad out the book, which actually was originally sold as two seperate books (Eight Sabbats for Witches and The Witches Way) before being repackaged as "A Witches Bible".
I don't know what Witches Bible Too Cool is reading, but this one certainly has nothing about the religious bible, the devil or god. But conversely it has much to say that is apocryphal and can be one lengthy waste of time! In short don't waste your time with this book! If you want to read about Gardnerian craft go for one of his own books or better still some of Valiente's books, and if you're not interested in Wicca at all and want to look into witchcraft then pull down the shutters and get comfortable because you've a long road ahead!

With all due respect, I disagree with this. If you want to really learn about Witchcraft and neo-Paganism, etc, and of course magic, you need to read ore than one book, so you can get many different author's opinions of the subject. We need to remember here folks, that the authors of the Witches Bible and all other books on the same subject are only human, so they may get it all wrong in their books! They may leave out bits which are very important. They may also come from a different tradition to other people. As Martin said, the Witches Bible was written by the Farrars, who are Garderian Wiccans. So, it may pay to read a few books written by people of different traditions, and thus expand your knowledge base.
ONE book is never enough when studying this kind of thing.
