well, I don't know if a thread like that was posted before but I have a question about deja vu. For me, it has always been a great experience, ever since I was a child. I like this feeling when I know what's gonna happen in a moment. However, recently I've been talking with my sis on that and she told me that every time she had it she felt awful, not mentally, but physically. Once she fainted but usually she feels sick. I wonder what do you think about that phenomena and do you have any explanation (either more scientific or more spiritual :)) for it.
I heard the explanation that when we sleep our astral body is able to 'see' what's gonna happen in the near future, subconsciousness absorbs it and then we have deja vu in our real lives.
So, what do you think?

i often wondered if it were a kind of 'loop' in the time continuum. you're going along the path and it loops and crosses another point in time. the place where they touch, would be the deja vu. past, future, another lifetime perhaps.
i guess i really think it is more likely a flash of precognition.
any kind of precognition can throw one off balance. maybe your sister is just more physically sensitive to such things.

Could also be something physical. she might want to get a check up if such occurrences (fainting) continue or increase. The brain can give us weird feelings when it has some 'mechanical' glitches.

For me, most of my deja vu experiences are from clairovyant dreams. Usually they are no not little things. Sometimes what happens in my dreams don't come true, but othertimes it does, however there are other things in the present time of the experience of the deja vu's that everything else is in place, like certain toys the kids are playing with are laying just like they were in my dream, and then the phone rings or something of that sort. Everything else will be in place, but the phone doesn't ring. Little things like that are off sometimes.

I like to think of deja vu as spiritual footprints.
Through our many lives we have been places, seen things and met people and the energy of those happenings is impressed upon us through the experiences. Like an auric identity. A footprint in the sand of time.
When in this lifetime we come across those same energies we remember them, although we may not recognise them.
Example:
You meet someone at a bar, a complete stranger, within minutes you are chatting like you have known each other forever .... it's probably because you have.....
Example:
You have always wanted to take time out from your busy city life to visit a certain place that appeals to you. It's played on your mind for years. You finally get there and it feels like home. The sort of place you would want to end your days in .... it's probably because you did :O)
Bear this in mind next time you have a deja vu moment.

I feel like I've been here before.
My personal take on this is that time is an illusion, just like the 3 dimensions of the physical realm. We only need time because we are, for now, physical beings. Thus, we are actually living all our lives at once in the spiritual perspective, it's just from the physical perspective we're only aware of one at a time.
Deja vu could be the result of any of the things already described.

I suppose it is important to remember that dejavu can be triggered by a variety of different experiences; smell, taste, touch, and vision. I have heard of two explanations of this phenomenon, one of which is scientific, the other more spiritual.
The scientific explanation pertains that dejavu is primarily triggered by a visual experience. Dejavu is explained as related to the intricate chemical and hormonal workings of our brains. To keep it non-scientific and thus in understandable terms (LOL), dejavu is caused by an anomaly in brain functioning, i.e. when the brain accidentally processes information through the area of the brain most commonly associated with past memories. This would explain the occurence of that 'i've been here/done this before' feeling.
The more spiritual explanation adheres to the concept of the astral body. During sleep, we often travel in the astral. Dejavu is caused by our actually having visited the specific place or met those specific individuals whilst in the astral.
It's a very interesting phenomenon. I am reminded of a fantastic little short story by Stephen King in his collection of short stories, 'Everythings Eventual', relating to dejavu. In this, a woman's personal hell is portrayed as the replaying of events over and over and over again, accompanied by that feeling of having 'done this before'.
Anyway, just some thoughts...

Of course she's kidding ! Or is she ........Real 3am stuff Diana !
When I get deja-vu's (3-4 seconds max) they end with the
sense that something DIFFERENT happened next (in the deja-vu)
So . life infact took a different path .
They are frustrating because I'm left racking my brain as to what
was different. It doesn't have to be something big , for example
someone's choice of words , the item I am looking for in the
cupboard ( that was the latest one ) I know that the "reality"
has changed , but can't get to grips with exactly what that reality might have been, let alone a why it altered. (Tho' I sense
that a large number of factors have influenced it , so maybe no way to untangle all the threads that lead up to it.)
As people here are always saying " nothing is set in stone."
