hi guys , as you know my interests are tarot, understanding the tarot by looking at other systems, and channeling and the spiritualityes that comes with it.
I been spendning quite some checking amazon ..
tarot books .
i got a lots fo favourites for tarot books themselves.
to the tarot court , to the kabalistic cube and tarot, to the deal for two books on the tarot (not the one that got bad reviews by amazon ) and lots more
kabbalah
figure i would start with the chicken kabbalah, the book on the kabbalah by elizabeth prophet, but after doing some checking there is a lot lot of book on kabbalah (and webpages as well i am holy )
astrology,
i am still in research phrase, and got these two links from amazon.
25 must have astrology books
and a bit advanced astrology books (working by lists )
numerology
i got two books on numerology which i skimed and the book numerology key to the tarot.
some say what i done with the tarot system is using numerology , should i get like a brunch of quality books on numerology ?
----------
and then there is my spiritual intersts like
that new ascended masters book by doreen virute.
and a course in love the complete course.
-----------
then there is my medition tapes which i been wanting to follow you know those six 12 tapes for 525? (there is like ten sets i want to order , not all are 72 mediations for 525 eheh) some are two tapes of 8 double sided meditions for 99
------------
then there is the healings books on energy work one can order and study
------------
and to come back to the tarot for a moment.
i was wanting to go bota, to learn paul foster system.
--------
so much to do , so little resources,
after my reversed fool journey posts i dont' know where to go. at this time.
with the tarot, the channeling, the other stuff.
i know i just simply want to become good enough to go professional at either channeling or tarot. or both.
anyways thanks for listening,

You are already good enough to go professional. ;)

I told you the same thing in chat yesterday. You don't need all these books.

HOLMES, I know that you are natural student, and that learning will be a lifetime avocation for you. There should always things and ideas for you to study and look forward to studying.
But the question at the end, "when will I know enough to go professional?" is just a part of the learning process for you. You can go professional now. You are a thoughtful, caring and deeply insightful reader. People benefit by your readings and your comments.
Yes, you will learn more, read more, experience more, and gradually you will be even better than you are now. But there is no perfect place to start. Start now. It will be a part of the learning process, as you really already know through your work here. Marion

HOLMES, my advice to you, for whatever it's worth? Just jump right in there and do it. You really are good enough to go pro now, and believe me, it takes time to build up a following. With every experience you learn and grow. No, it isn't easy, but what is, ya know? I mean, if it's really worthwhile, you're going to have to "Pay your Dues' as BB King would put it.
Don't be afraid of yourself. The hardest thing about all of this is the self confidence part. But once you get over that, it gets better. You will be learning new stuff your whole life. It's not like you have to know ALL about EVERYTHING before you go out. If you try to do that, you'll never get there, because you'll be just reading about it, instead of doing it.
If you want this, you can have it. You have a lot more talent than you realise. You've heard it from everybody. So, my question, Dude, is this~ When are you going to start believing it? You totally rock, now make it happen, man, you've got what it takes, I just know it !

at the risk of sounding redundant, just do it!
if you really feel you aren't ready yet, then put away the books for awhile and practice, practice, practice until you do ;)

Holmes, I agree with what everybody else has said in this thread...
You have given me so much insight since you first came to Aeclectic, and you really are a great reader. There are lots of people out there who will benefit from a reading from you.
I have found that I learn as I go along, not formally, but through practicing and putting into practice what I currently know. Go down to a pub, get out your cards, and see if people ask for a reading. Give a couple of people readings, and see if you like it. Basically, dip your toes in the water for a while, see if you like the temperature.
If the water's fine (And I'm sure it will be) then you know what I, and everybody else here, thinks you could do! }) :D
Good luck and best wishes, friend!

Holmes:
Please re-read Marion's post. She said everything I would have liked to say plus a couple of other things.
If you want advice on what to study next, that's a bit hard for us to say. Why don't you just choose what sounds the most appealing? The rest will follow.
But as you're asking, I would say: continue your kabbalah studies for the moment.

2. to study kabbalah more and let astrologogy sit on the backburner
3. to once again pratice in the reading exchange
(up into now i been praticing in your readings now and then, and doing one one card readings in chat )

A friend of mine has a line she gives when some one comes asking for advise or a shoulder to cry on. Sometimes it's said sarcastic, sometimes loving...but always meaning it(too many years of being a bartender I think)...."write a book"
you mentioned this to me in chat...I said YES!
the best books are written from experiences, which from the threads you guided me to, I'd say your experiences are worthy. Going 'pro' will only add material for your writings.

HOlmes, this looks like my Ph.D. dissertation project when I started out.
I thought there were all those things I needed to know in order to do my work.
I was right, but I learned them by doing the work.
May be you will learn more and more as you practice... and for most part, real knowledge comes from practice...
That's all I can say. That and the fact that you sound like a nice fellow and that will help you out.
Good luck

HOLMES,
i know you have already received the advice you needed from your friends here at Aeclectic...i would just like to add that I recently read through your past life readings in the Exchange thread, and if YOU don't have what it takes to read professionally, then I should go ahead and tear my site down and rip my cards up...in other words, you are insightful, detailed, concise, and just plain ole terrific, in my book...
continue your studies, as it will only enhance the gifts that you already have...but slow down! lol....i thought *i* was bad with all the books on my list to read! ;)
you're a fabulous reader...
now, go out there and set the world on its ear...:D
many blessings to you!
