It is said that Buddha descends from His high place during the full moon of Taurus*, the Wesak Festival of Light, to bestow spiritual blessings on the world. He joins with the World Teacher of Love, and together they transmit two spiritual streams of energy - Divine Love and Divine Light. Buddha's task in returning for this brief time of the Wesak Festival is to remind us of the possibility of illumination, keeping a channel open for light to illuminate the minds of humanity.
i don't know what time that is my time,(central time) but i am going to set my alam tonight and get up for that.

as i understand it, wesak celebrates the birth, enlightenment and death of the buddha. i thought it was the scorpio full moon.
to make it extra special, there will also be a lunar eclipse that night. we will be able to view it as a total eclipse in our neck of the woods holmes. let's hope for clear skies!

I wish I could recall which one of C W Leadbeater's many books this was in, but he included a long essay about Buddha 'appearing' at a Wesak observance in northern India. He's a clairvoyant writer and a Theosophist, and seems to have a certain insight into it. Well worth finding and reading at this time of the year.

The Lucis Trust publishes the Alice A. Bailey material and operates the Arcane School, which she founded. The link to the Lucis Trust website (which Holmes provided in the opening post of this thread) leads to an excellent description of the Wesak festival, and a timetable correlating the lunar phase with its observance.
Wesak is one of three major spiritual festivals celebrated each year by theosophists, and many others. The first is the Easter festival (held on the Aries Full Moon), the second is Wesak (at the Taurus Full Moon), and the third is the Festival of Goodwill (also known as the Christ's Festival), held on the Gemini Full Moon. These three celebrations culminate in World Invocation Day (celebrated on June 14, this year), in which men and women invoke light and higher consciousness in the service of global goodwill; this is accomplished via recitation of a prayer known as the Great Invocation.
The Lucis Trust is a theosophical organization rooted in esoteric Christianity, which understands the Cosmic Christ (not to be confused with the disciple, Jesus) as the principal spirit overshadowing the current epoch.

It means a lot to me. Found out a very good friend has cancer today, will use this spiritual opportunity to connect with the ascended masters for goodwill for ALL spiritual beings having a human existence!

It's a national holiday here, but nothing much is made out of it...surprising for me to see you all so enthusiastic about it! There are trips to temples to pray for health, career/studies, propesperity and such, and light incense, and spiritual walks are organized, with people holding candles in the shape of lotuses. But great divine illumination is not generally expected, if you know what I mean. :)
P.S. By the time I'm reading this, Wesak Day here is already over and done with.

I am sure the festival is a good thing, but the Lucis Trust rang a bell in my mind from some research I did a little while ago.
They were originally called the Lucifer Trust. Which is not mentioned on that site , and the only reference to Lucifer I found doing a search on it there was this exerpt from a speech:
"We humans, we "thinking entities", are endowed by the Creator with a mind. The nobility of this gift lies in the sacrifice, eons ago, of the solar Angels who, the Ageless Wisdom says, came to earth bringing the principle of mind to what was then animal-man. This is the meaning of the so-called "fallen angel" Lucifer, whose name means "light-bearer" and who represents the sacrifice of the solar Angels so long ago. "
I think if your original name is the Lucifer Trust & there is no mention why on your website, you got some splainin' to do .

I am by no means an apologist for the Lucis Trust, but I do know that the theosophical understanding of Lucifer is that he is a light-bearer, and not an incarnation of the Devil or any other sort of "satanic" or negative entity. Lucifer was considered a benefactor of mankind by H. P. Blavatsky, the founder of the Theosophical Society; the Lucis Trust is an offshoot of the Theosophical Society, so it is not surprising to learn that its original name was "Lucifer Trust."

I know that's what they say , but there are plenty of people who don't believe that & who would want nothing to do with an organization with that founding name or beliefs. I just think it should be clearly explained right off. And I find it highly suspicious & manipulative that it's not.
If the organization is founded on that name originally, it is obviously the central point. Why leave it out ? Why not be up front? I don't like organizations who do things like this for any reason. Many people don't have a lot of time or inclination to dig deep & study, & I think they are taking advantage of that fact.

all i know is that luana huffines the writer of the bridge of light and channel for her guide has written a wonderful book based on the application of some of the principles she studied in the alice bailey writings.

As these qualities supersede the old and undesirable ones, the door where evil dwells will symbolically slowly close through the sheer weight of public opinion and through right human desire. Nothing can possibly stop it.
Thus the original Plan will be restored on earth. Simultaneously, the door into the world of spiritual reality will open before mankind and the door where evil dwells will be closed. Thus through the "centre which we call the race of men," the Plan of Love and Light works out and strikes the death blow of evil, selfishness and separateness, sealing it into the tomb of death forever; thus also the purpose of the Creator of all things will be fulfilled.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

from what i understand at the time of scorpio for 2001 , there was a great manifesting of testing in the material plane.
these test could only be solved by reasoning mind, (which brings to mind the emperor and the swords )
the definition of man means one who thinks, so by our nature we can hanlde the tasks set before us.
when that person decartes announced "i think, therefore i am " that was man realizing his nature.
(i would say becoming the basis for much of our spiritual laws of creating our reality at this time )
we thinking entities were endowed by the creator with a mind.
this gift lies in the sacfrice of the sacfrice of the solar angels (there isn't just one angel but many )
who came to earth and endow animal-man with the prinicple of mind.
(this right here is telling us why we evolved past the ape structure of our ancestors and gives us the riddle of the missing link )
the "light bearer" lucifer represents the sacfice of the solar angels.
to me it means he is the leader and they came to bring us knowledge, and to connect us to the universal mind so we can start evolving.
as at the time we were just caveman just trying to eat and live. the mind principles after they affected us helped us to evolve by letting us make spears and pain on the cave walls and find shamanism.
we owe it to them who brought us the gift of the mind principles to use this at this time (2001). we do this by thinking with reason and aligning ourselves with the divine plan for earth as set by the creator (and i dare say the angel gia as well ).
to sit on the sidelines ,(meaning being seperate ) and thinking of our personal affairs (of strictly of ourselves ) will not achieve that goal.
we can all help the public mind in various ways, and doing so infuse the light upon the mental plane with more light. this will strenght the right thinking of the leaders of the world. and not only that but the responsiblity of the leaders to the safety of the world.
just my laymans translation of what exactly they are saying .

the acim claim to be the sole owner of the course and the arguement is the course was given to the world so how can you claim ownership of it.(this stems from those who are/were passing aroudn the unedited version of the course)
the same is those who are traditional in qabbalah, shamanism, the teachings of my native ancestors as well (like sweat lodges)
can it be said of the works of man as well ? to want ownership of that which is creted is that egoism or the right of the individual or both ?
