Well I don't really know where to start with this but I have had a long run of bad luck recently and am starting to wonder if maybe its something else. A little background....I lost my job several months ago due to lay off, which was expected so I was prepared for it, have been looking for a new one but the search has been unsuccessful. A month ago, we had some problems with our house, it was the bathroom sink, but we figured out the problem and fixed all that, very minor, but the last 2 weeks have been a total wreck for me....it started with our tub leaking thru the kitchen ceiling, then problems with my car, then water pouring out of our electrical box downstairs, then a river in our basement (we've had days and days of rain)so we discover we're going to need a new roof, then husband sees eye doc and they suspect possible glaucoma so now they want to run all these tests but he has to see his family doc first, then major problems with his car, and finally a health condition of mine that had been in check for a year has now worsened and I'm having trouble with that. There's even more I could list but I just wanted to give a little info of what has happened and like I said earlier this all happened in less than a 2 week period. I can't even focus long enough to do a reading to see if this is going to end. I've tried to think if I did anything to anyone that this would be karma, what comes around goes around but nothing comes to mind. I know they say you're never given more than you can handle but I'm starting to doubt that right about now. Maybe I'm just making more out of this than I should, I just feel that I'm at the end of my rope, so to speak. :(

Hi Angelwhispers :)
I cannot help but notice the preponderance of water in your current dillemma. (Glaucoma is fluid, after all...)
Water is a cleasning element, as is fire, but thankfully, you haven't experienced this and I hope you don't. But it occurs to me that it's quite possible what you are experiencing is sort of a cosmic clean up~ and when this spate of 'stuff' is over, things will even out. This happens to me every now and then, and it usually coincides with a new phase of spiritual growth.
However, it's really hard to keep metaphysical concepts in mind when the roof is falling in, everyone is sick, and water is spewing out of the circuit breaker box. (Eeeek!)
Courage, friend, hang in there, things will eventually get better.

Angel,
Sorry to hear about your misfortunes over the past few months :( All my thoughts are with you.
I know the feeling; that one when you just think that the whole world is out to get you. It WILL get better though.
Keep well,
C

Thanks to both of you DarkElectric and Centaur, for your encouraging words. I never looked at it as a kind of cleansing, hard to do when so many bad things happen at once. Lets just hope the streak ends soon, one doctor appointment down, 2 to go and fingers crossed 2 days of no rain ahead!!!!! Yipee :)

Indeed the water thing is striking...
ur probably very busy at the moment but,
I know very little about the subject but the idea popped into my head... from the little I understand of Feng shui I remember that part of it is creating a certain balance/equilibrium in ur physical environment of the elements, and that regarding some areas of life one element is more dominating than the other and so on...
Maybe you should look into this, or any other practice where the elements play a big role and try to see how u can counteract/balance the water ...
coz it sounds to me like quite an odd coincidence
Best of luck... ;)

I don't know much about Feng Shui either and have thought many times about picking up a book on it but you know how that goes, never find the time, but I think it might be worth looking into.

I'm more of the mind that it's a karmic clean up. Karma ripens for us often only many lifetimes after it began. And it doesn't necessarily mean you did something bad to deserve it. It could just be an intense adjustment. Although I'm sure it feels anything but well balanced! Hang in there, though. You're probably paying off a lot of debt and have a clean slate to look forward to.
Also, magically speaking, I do not think this would be the time to try to counter the water element in your life. This is too severe and "coincidental". I really feel that this experience was so intense because there was something you needed to learn or experience about water, something lacking probably for quite some time. Embrace it, as crazy as that sounds. I don't think you were given more than you can handle, and while it is easy to say this from a safe distance, try to think of it as a merciful message from the universe which is desperately trying to get your attention. Pay attention to water! While all of these problems are certainly stressful, they are not truly life threatening. The fact that they all happened within such a short time of each other and seem to echo each other has the feeling of desperately trying to get your attention without truly causing harm. Take it as a warning. Even the car trouble could be saying "don't try to escape from this, you need to face this."
As I was saying, don't fight it. Embrace it, it will make it go away faster. Take lots of lovely warm baths, have lot's of herbal tea. Listen to tapes of rainstorms and whalesongs. Paint a watercolour. Take a moment to meditate at dusk (the time of day associated with the west and the element of water). Get a goldfish. And pay special attention to your dreams, a realm also associated with the water element.
I hope this was helpful in some way! Love and light, Belladonna

I am one of those people who detests the idea of karma coming back in this way. To me, it is a natural law, not a law which has any intelligence behind it. therefore, in my opinion, you haven't done anything to cause this karmically. (This is one of the problems with karma: Good people start blaming themselves for bad things happening in their lives.) The first thing you should think about is that this is not your fault. There are many things that you listed which are problems with the house... It's not your fault at all! :D When we start blaming our past actions/selves for causing these things, we lose our self-esteem and sometimes our energy and will to cope with what is happening. So be kind to yourself and don't blame yourself. ((((((angelwhispers)))))
Life moves in cycles... In ebbs and flows like the tides. Going by this rule, there will always be bad times and good times. The good times we think are great, and we can easily cope with them. But then the bad times come around and we are lost. The trick to overcoming this is to focus on the bright side: There is a way out, and there is sunshine on the other side... Focus on that. Take a step back from the situation, keep your emotions at bay for a few minutes, and just look at the problems objectively, in sight of the bigger picture. Believe me, when you see what is on the other side of all these problems, you'll feel better and will be more able to cope with them.
And treat yourself well. You're obviously very stressed about all this, and this means you feel less able to cope with it, and other areas of your life might be suffering because of it. (When I get stressed, I get very irritable and end up snapping at my loved ones for no reason...) Eat plenty of good food, (Foods with lots of vitamin C are good in times of stress, to fight off any illness that could be caused by the lesser immune system that occurs when stressed.) have nice baths, get out of the house once in a while in the sun, and go to pretty places with people you enjoy being with. When you feel happier about everything, you'll probably find everything easier to cope with.
Good luck!

Thank you Belladonna and Kiama for your replies and letting me see this in a different way. I feel better about everything today and Kiama you are right to say I am very stressed over this whole thing. My stress level has just been building and building over the past several months and then it was like the flood gates opened (no pun intended) and I just couldn't deal with one more thing.
I was so wrapped up in everything going on that when I look at things now, its amazing how everything that went wrong had to do with some kind of water, even the possibility with my husbands eyes, which the doc explained to us and I just never associated it with everything else.

Well what ever was trying to get my attention they got it so I'm ready to know why. I wish I was able to meditate but I can't seem to quiet my mind long enough to do it.

I think all the advice you have received so far is wonderful. Once you are able to quiet your mind long enough to meditate you might want to try cleansing your chakras. This should help in releaving some of the stress you are feeling and invigorate you so the world around you is easier to face.

Hi angelwhispers,
I read your post and made a promise to come back because I couldn't think of anything more to say but (((((angelwhispers......))))).
I see you've had lots of replies and good suggestions and found myself smiling an It never rains but it pours type smile.
Imagine your Guardian Angels with umbrellas out :). A good person here put me on to angels and I invoke them a lot lately. They're easy to imagine and I find it comforting to have some company in the middle of the little disasters that have been happening just lately. Maybe this idea could work for you? I notice your name so I guess you're on to angels already, huh?
Perhaps I can share one (minor) story. I went out into the kitchen earlier this morning. It was dark and the llight switch has broken. I slipped on a bit of plastic of all things and ended up flat on my back with plates going everywhere. Such a racket you never have heard. God knows what the neighbours thought.
Anyway the cat got such a fright she took off, knocking a bunch of flowers over, shattering the vase and spreading water all over the PC and my newly completed report that took me two hours to do last night. The PC is OK I think but God knows where the cat is and I'm a wee bit sore
I was coming to join your thread too so there's a bit of synchronicity there!
My best wishes

I am agreeing with the possibility of Feng Shui here...there is too much water, and all things need to be in balance.
In Feng Shui, there are 5 elements, and they have a cycle of production and a cycle of destruction. We don't want to destroy water, just balance it out. In the Chinese system, the element of earth "destroys," or balances out, water. So, first, get lots of crystals and decorate with pottery and clay. Use colors of yellows and browns. Pictures of mountains, globes, etc.
Second, make sure the areas of the Southwest and Northeast in your home are free from clutter or other negative energies. You may need to use a pendulum to sense the lines of energy. If there is negative energy going to your house, you can negate it with plants placed where the energy runs into & out of the home.
I wish you luck with everything,
DeLani
Second, looking at directions,

Blessings! how brave of you to keep facing these glitches and real worries!
The first thing I wanted to say was slow down. Breathe.
Sometimes our lives become a 'comedy of errors' that's not so funny. I was thinking, too, that this may be indicative of dynamic rearrangement that is occuring on a spiritual level. Is that happening?
I think of the tower card with such happenings. I tend to moan when I see good ol' tower, but I welcome it too, because it means i will be more comfortable in my skin. When we shift, everything has to rearrange....
They say: When everything looks like it's falling apart, it's actually falling together!
Maybe if you could look at it from a different perspective, you would get an insight.....
but the most important factor is rest and recouping your energy. Stress is so destructive. give yourself permission to relax. watch funny movies. Walk through the woods. Breathe.
When in doubt, chill! :)

just reading everyone's responses has made me feel a little calmer, had me look at things a little differently and has been such a big help to me.
Moongold, you are right to guess that I am on to angels and find myself asking for guidance quite a lot lately. Just yeseterday I tried working with my angel oracle to see what their message for me would be and it was Body Care...which would be dealing with my own health issue right now...and Playfulness...letting me know how important it is to relax and just have some fun... something that has definitely been missing lately.
Sorry to hear of your mishap this morning, and hope your feeling ok. :D
skytwig, its funny that you mention the tower in your post. Earlier I mentioned how I wasn't able to do any readings on anything because I couldn't focus so yesterday I just shuffled the cards over and over trying to reconnect with them and 2 cards fell out, the tower reversed and the 4 of swords. Hopefully this is a sign that all this is ending and my time to rest/recoup is coming :)

I never heard that, but it rings with truth! I have had quite a few Tower events in the recent past, and now that it is over, I see good things that are able to happen BECAUSE of the disaster(s) we went through. Things are falling into place here, and I hope that things will look up soon for you too!

Well with the water factor being brought to my attention, it turns out that it would creep up one more time for me. After all the tests they put my husband through, it turns out it is glaucoma, which is rare for his age 35, and we now have drops to put in his eyes every day. I don't even know what else to say, I am just emotionally and physically drained right now.

Dear angelwhispers,
Anything to do with sight is fairly freaky isn't it? And it will take a bit of getting used to. Glaucoma is really treatable though, angelwhispers. My father gad it for 20 years. He was pretty fine up until his death. Maybe your hubby will be OK too.
I'm holding you in my heart and prayers for the time being.....hope it makes you both a liitle better.....If you want to write, please do...... I am a COMPULSIVE letter writer.
