Question...

*Now, I know that this isn't really a tarot question, so feel free to move this since I didn't know where to put it. Sorry.*

I wonder how and if I can find out what color my aura is?

I was reading this article about Hilary Duff (disney channel star) and this lady said that her aura was pink with a rainbow edge or something...and I wonder what color mine is. Hmm...good question.

Now what forum does this fit into ::confuzzled look::

The only way that I know of (as I can't see Aura's either) is by either meeting someone who can see aura's and asking them, or getting your aura picture taken. Which I still am not sure about the truth behind the Aura picture taking. I would trust an Aura sighter vs a picture, but to each their own.

I think this would best fit into spirituality? not sure myself.

Since this thread is better suited to Spirituality, it is being moved there where it will garner more replies.

One trick you can use is to stare at your hand for a while, over white paper. try to go into a trance state, if you can. Don't look for the aura, just gaze.

You may begin to see a color around the fingers or, when you move your hand away from the spot it's been over, you will see color. The white helps you to see it.

It s probably best to use low light, rather than bright.

Also, the color you wear the most may indicate something about your aura. You could have a lot of that color or, more likely, a lot of the opposite color.....

The best time to see auras is in a meditative, kind of dreamy state, in which your 3rd eye is active.

The trouble with identifying color is that everyone sees a different color when they look at aura, even if they're all looking at the same person.

I can't see mine either, but knew several friends who could see auras & had asked one what color mine was. She said reddish orange with yellow spots floating. Another friend in the same room got a weird look & said she saw light green on me, not reddish orange with spots. So what you actually ARE may not be what others are seeing.

Confusing, yeah. I've only seen auras a few times, and usually they're yellow or blue. Can't see my own though. I was told that if you stand in front of a white wall & look at yourself in the mirror you can see it, but that never worked for me.

yeah, I've tried several "tricks of the trade" to see mine, and NOTHING worked for me either.

Everyone "sees" differently. some of us don't 'see' color, we see thoughts or emotions or the internal environment of the body.

Also, there are different bodies, the etheric, the emotional, etc. People may be seeing the auras of different bodies of a person.

For more information about auras, you might want to read Barbara Brennans' books, Wheels of Light by Anodea Judith and books by Ted Andrews.

You may also find that your ability to see auras will improve over time, as you meditate, do self-healing work and 'grow' in Spiritual presence. (We do a lot of these things, such as seeing auras, quite naturally as children & learn to stop doing it from people who think it is 'crazy'. We never lose the ability, we just repress them.)

The most important factor in seeing auras is relaxation.... like Akido or Tai Chi, being in a semi-trance state is when we are strongest in our psychic abilities...... :)

Thanks Yall for your responses!

Skytwig-I have tried the paper thing yet, but I have noticed I wear alot of blue & orange...and I have alot of pink too. Meaning possibly my aura is blue, orange, or pink??

The white wall thing should be a good try too. I'll try both ideas. Thanks yall.

i don't think this one was mentioned--squint and let things get kind of fuzzy around the edges. the ones that i've seen have been green or black. green for healing--a good helping professional will have this. black usually concerns me that the person is probably unhealthy in some way. i had to let this ability to go some years back b/c it simply made me too psychicly vulnerable in public w/o heavy shielding. for me it's hard to remember to keep those inner guards up.some ppl can have very toxic energy around them.

for me this easiest way to detect an aura is to feel it with my hands. it feels warm and like a soft barrier that extends maybe a couple feet from the body. i can't feel my own though. being able to feel auras makes it very difficult for me to be in groups particularly if space is cramped. i'm generally ok if i know my personal space hasn't been invaded.

I've just tried holding my hand over white paper - my aura is purple. I have no idea what this means...

with the paper exercize, you could be picking up on a natural visual effect. try the same thing with an inanimate object and see if you get the same effect.

our brain also wants to see red, yellow and blue, so if you are looking at something primarily red or pinkish, your brain will fill in green, the opposite color, around it.

(hey! who just called me a party pooper! *zorya ducks as thrown objects go whizzing over her head*)

i think aura's are viewed more with the third eye then our two other eyes.

they are also much more easily felt, imho.

I tried the paper thing twice...and when I moved my hand it looked like it was a greyish-green.

But grey and green are calm colors, and I'm certainly not very calm. I'm a loud, ambitious, outgoing type and I dont think grey or green stand for those type of words.

Intuition says mine is pink or orange. Hmmm.

And whenever I do find out what color my aura is, how will I know what it means? Does each color have like a certain meaning? Hmm...sounds like a google search to me.

Thanks yall.

who's chuckin' stuff at you, zorya?? ;) don't anyone dare, i'm gonna thwack ya w/a wet noodle if you do! :D

the thing w/the paper is fairly true, it's mostly a retina effect...a couple of months ago i posted a thread w/an exercise for seeing the aura, and it's similar to the retina effect, but not quite...(a little better if you ask me)

generally speaking you do see them better w/the third eye, but then i think auras come in "layers" (like onions, in a way...)

there are the outer colours...energies that form and flow on the outside that people interact with and can feel...then there are energies that are closer to the body and are not easily perceived w/the naked eye...
the outer colours are easy to see (imo, anyway), but are very changeable, hence different people seeing different colours...(they may just be perceiving different "levels")
the inner colours do not change as much, but their "intensity" often does, depending on psychic traumas or enlightenment...

when viewing the "inner" colours, i usually have my eyes closed (hence the viewing w/the third eye) :) but that's me, and that's how i do it...other people probably have different experiences w/such things...

basically, i'd go w/your intuition...i've always felt "blue" and i am quite blue (it dominates my aura, as well as green)...so, go w/your gut feelings, i say! :D

many blessings,

~azure
