My 12 old son want my to work a spell for him to remember his dreams, which tarot card should I use for this ??
And for those well versed in the ways of magic, what else could I use to boost this spell.
I already have silver candles and poppyseed as good for dream work. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would suggest..he tell himself before bed taht he will remember his dreams..Then put paper and pen next to his bed.. So as soon as he wakes up he remembers..
Also..waking up 2 hours or so before he has to get up..Like by an alarm..Will also help..although it does get tiring.. I dont try and remember my dreams but I end up remembering 2-4 dreams a night..so it is not truly a restful sleep.

Shadow Wolf, if your son REALLY wants to remember his dreams, he needs to learn and practice methods of doing that, and keep practicing it over time. I believe that everyone can learn to remember their dreams, and truthfully most people are just too lazy, or have other real life things and obligations that are more important.
Get a good book on such which will basically tell you to KEEP A DREAM DIARY! A blank notebook by the bed and a pen. The very moment you awaken WRITE DOWN YOUR DREAM! That is it, in a nutshell. So if your son can do this he should start recalling more dreams. Sometimes it is difficult and you have to force yourself to awaken enough to write, perhaps scribbling in the dark. And sometimes you awaken but don't feel like writing , or feel the little remembered dream is too silly to bother to write. But if you make dream journalling a HABIT it should help immensely.
Spells and tarot cards are fine, and who knows , they MAY work for dream recall. I've never tried it for that. However, even IF a tarot spell for dream recall worked, I'm not sure it would help someone remember their dreams on a regular basis over time.
But keeping a dream diary by the bed DOES work, for me at least!

What's important to remember is that immediately upon awakening to write SOMETHING down. Even if it is only one image or simply an emotion. Nothing is too small when starting out. If your son can be disciplined about this he will be amazed at the difference a couple of weeks makes.
Definately the Moon card, possibly coupled with the High Priestess.
Mugwort tea is especially helpful drunk before bed. If you have quartz crystal or moonstone, put them under his pillow.
I'm going to pm you, too.
Good luck! Love Belladonna

i wouldn't recommend mugwort tea for a child. however, a sprig under the pillow should do the trick.
learning to write down or at least replay the dream in his head as soon as he wakes up is the best method.
i use a pen that has a little light at the point, so i don't have to turn on any lights at night.
i ask 'the powers that be' for assistance in remembering and understanding my dreams before i fall asleep as well.

Hi...
These suggestions by everyone for dream recall are great for dream work...I know of friends who do these things with great success...but I do something different...I sleep with quartz...lots of quartz...herkimer diamonds are especially good...a special type of double terminated quartz found only in and around upstate...Herkimer, NY...and often I hold a smokey rutilated and goethite quartz sphere...or it may sometimes be under my pillow...again especially good for lucid dreaming...and astral traveling during sleep...but any quartz can be effectively programed with intention to recall and understand dreams upon awaking...I never write my dreams down...but it is a good practice...with these things I do there isn't a need for me...
Another help for me was alot of self-hypnosis...auto suggestion...and positive affirmations for remembering dreams the next morning...I always add the element of understanding my dreams too as I want this...not just recall/rememberance...so for months I did alot...just before I fell asleep...a tape recorded with your own voice and played at bedtime works well...then it can be discontinued once you learn how...
Our animals sleep with us and often astral travel...dogs and cats do this so naturally and I believe this helps in my own dream recall...there are some flower essences which can be taken under the tongue...or in a nighttime bath...even diffused in a simmerpot in the bedroom that assist in all the dreaming levels...I have used some chapperral...for journeys and bonding with animals during dreams when one of my greyhounds Safari first came to live with us and was having nightmares...I now don't need to use this and it's rare he has bad dreams...but we are most often partners in the dreamworld...he sleeps on the floor next to me and before the night is done he is up in bed...one of my other dogs Psyche also travels at night with me...and of course the 3 cats...cats are true night travelers...and always sleep upon our bed...
This is a wonderful resource for all kinds of essences and such nice and very knowledgable people...they have assisted me on the phone for many years...

edit*...I especially think what Belladonna has said about the use of moonstone and the "Moon" card with the "High Priestess" as sleep/dream rememberance aids would be very effective though I have never tried this...it sounds especially good...maybe add another favorite card for even more assistance and insight since working with the #3 and all its correlations/correspondances is very powerful and benefical...

I make a tea with 1 to 3 tsp of the dried leaf for 2 to 3 cups of water and let it seep for 3 to 5 minutes. My 4-year old ofter shares 1/4 cup of it or so with me and loves it! Sweetened with a little honey and milk. I assure you he's never experienced any adverse reactions.
Also, I sometimes drink it much, much stronger than that and I'm 5 feet tall in my bare feet weighing barely 90 pounds! Many a 12 year old boy have surpassed me in height and weight! It has about the same physical affects as a strong cup of sleepy-time tea.
But you don't need to take my word for it if you're nervous about it. Ask a naturopath or herbalist that you trust.
Keep in touch and let us know how your son does! Love and light, Belladonna
