Yes I know, I know...BUT

Alright everyone,

I know that the last thing you should do is mess around with spells that you really don't feel ready for, BUT..

I did

I placed the address of the home we were looking to buy on a piece of paper and the words "As God Wills". Then folded it and burned it in a very special ceramic cup that is now on my alter..

I prayed 3 times for God's assistance in getting this house and it being the right place for us..

WELL,

WE WON THE BID ON THE HOUSE..this doesnt mean I now own the place..it's just a major step in that direction..

SO,

The ashes are still in the cup, I am going to the house on Saturday, do I bring them and put them on the property or should I wait for the closing and we actually move in to dispose of them in a more ritualistic way (if I do it Sat..it has to be verry discreat). and if I keep them close and close to my heart witll the rest of the spell - the right place for us- be ummm stornger..

I know praying for specific property can backfire that is why casting for it now (I am verry untrained) may not have been a good idea..but this house would be a great starting point and I just couldn't resist..

Tell me what you think,

CJ

Do what you feel is right..

I dont see a problem with the spell you cast..You said if it was right for you. So if it wasnt..you may of not gotten teh house.

but i dont know mucha bout spells either.

I did something similar with the place we liked, only I 'danced' in the back yard (I shouldn't do that, things/events swing funny--I didn't realize I did it at the time, but Steve saw it & reminded me later what happened LAST time I'd done that, we got a hard to get booth at a Renaissance fair).

Since it already produced what you wanted with 'God's will', dispose of the ashes anyway you want. Putting them on dirt helps the plants.

just a little related tale, I did a spell to get the house I wanted last year, without using any terms like, "as god wills" or "for good of all" and it turned out to have everything wrong with it. It was horrible, and when we wanted to back out of the deal, it was almost impossible. We put so much time and energy into just getting away from that damned house!
Don't take that wrong, I think your spell was more ethical, and should have much better results. I personally would try to sprinkle the ashes at the four corners of the house and/or by the front doorstep. But I don't think putting the ashes there will make or break the spell. But (my opinion) if you can't sprinkle them on-site, keep them around you until the deal is sealed. Good luck!

i don't ever burn anything (other than candles or smudge sticks) for things i want. i save burning for things i want removed or released. burning a paper for something you want makes little sense to me and leaves me not feeling clear on the ashes.

i remember jlbvt's house problems as though they were yesterday. her's is a lesson in caution.

adding 'as god wills' will have probably make all the difference. (with my spells i use the phrase, 'if it be for the greater good'.)

if you are absolutely, positively certain that you want this house, then sprinkling the ashes near the entrance or walkway are probably a good idea.

if there is ANY, even the smallest doubt that this is the perfect house, hold on to them. you may need them to 'unbind' you from the house.

Yeah, Zorya is right. I buried some symbols around that house, and I couldn't find them later to dig them up and try to realease the spell. Caution... now I know. ;) JOAN

jlbvt ,

I remeber your post..that is why I hesitated a bit..but figured..I LOVE the house so go for it...

I think I'll put the ashes in a hanging plant...something I can bring with me when the deal is closed..

It also feels right..a flower to honor a prayer granted..

Thanks for all the advise

Burning is a way to release the stored energy.

I really think the operative phrase is "As God Wills".

The thing I've noticed about "God's Will" is that it's precisely that~ God's Will. Not the person's will, or anybody else's, but God's will. Therefore I would say that changes the parameters a little bit. I hope it works out for you :)

The lessons in this thread are very good.

The truth is, we do need to be very cautious with Magick. jibvt's example is powerful stuff, thanks so much for sharing that.

I really don't indulge in Magick without great preparation. The most we can do to protect ourselves is insist that we not act on impulse.

Research, research. Prepare for spellwork.

You might want to start with Tarot Spells by Janina Renee. She also has unbinding spells in her book....... just in case you need them. :)

I just wanted to pipe in that I, too, burn paper with my prayer, wish or spell written on it. To me, the writing clarifies and focuses the intent, and the burning, as Phoenix says, releases the energy, or sends it off with the power of wands, while the smoke carries the message "upwards" and like you, I like to keep the ashes, or earth of the spell to concretize it. I just made up that word.
