"Hearing" a voice

I'm utterly befuddled. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before, but here goes. Everyone's thoughts are greatly appreciated. I'm getting ready to try and get rid of a ghost that resides in the house I'm moving into. I was driving along the other day thinking about how the moon had turned and it was time when I had this voice in my head (not literally heard it or anything) saying that I should do it that night. It was similar to sort of when you talk or argue with yourself, but it was also different, more concrete. So I ended up sort of discussing with it whether or not I should do it that night and why and some other things that made sense, although I didn't agree. I was sort of, I dunno, my eyes kept fazing out, which was only somewhat concerning me (although it should have since I was driving), I don't wanna say I was losing conciousness or anything but I certainly was losing sense of reality in and out. Very strange feeling. Well it kept talking to me even after I reached my destination and by this time I thought I was going nuts. I was trying to think if maybe I'd developed some sort of by-polar issue and if I should even mention it to my Boyfriend if he'd worry about that too or not and it did say anything to these thoughts but I got the distinct impression from it that I shouldn't mention it to him. At this point i asked it why I could feel it only on my left shoulder, which seemed pretty strange and I'd only realized about 1/2 way through this thing that I /could/ feel it there. It moved around and sort of demonstrated that I could feel it on my right and above/behind me, etc. But it wasn't like the presence of a person at all, it was much smaller and constrained by gravity or anything. That's all I can remember about it, when I went inside where I was going, right after I was really getting worried and stuff, it had gone. Does anyone have any idea on what this is??? Is it just me? Do I have some sort of creature following me around and should I trust it? It was a very weird ordeal and made me edgy about my mental health, lol. Never had anything like this happen to me before, and never would have really considered it possible... despite the fact that I have a ghost in my house, hehe. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, Jade

Well, I'm no expert, and I haven't had experiences exactly like you described. But, here is what I have decided to be the best way to handle these things in my short 37 years in this life. Follow you gut. If you get a strong impression like that, go do it. Don't ask, doubt, or persuade yourself otherwise, just do it. Keep in mind also that ghosts are not the boss of you. If they are nasty tell them to 'scram'. I could tell you a story...... about my daughter who had awful dreams about a 'a mean old woman' wanting to beat her. She would tell me she could 'feel' this mean old woman in our house. (my daughter was about 5 or 6 at the time). I was discussing this with a friend of mine who is a Native American (he doesn't mind being called that). He came to our house and gave my daughter a dream catcher he made for her and smoked the whole house with sage. He also gave her sage wrapped in red cloth to put under her pillow. He then told my daughter to tell that 'mean old lady' to 'beat it!', 'scram!', 'this isn't your house any more!'. My daughter has slept like a baby ever since. Enthralled, I asked my friend, 'was there really a bad ghost in my house?!?!'. He replied, ' I don't know. But if there was, your daughter, I am sure scared her away!" Let me know how it goes! I don't know if you believe in the devil and whatever gods, but the evil side tends to mess with your head...if you feel that you can't trust this thing...i'd say it is trying to make you get the ghost out of your house. Do you really know what the ghost is there for? Maybe it is a protector and the other thing is trying to take it away. On the other hand if you feel that it is a good side that is speaking to you and it is not trying to confuse you and bring you away from reality, but instead trying to bring your head out of the clouds. Then i'd say listen to it. Meditation is a good way to find whether something is evil, good, bad, right, or wrong. Good luck

It could be a guide who has come to assist you in helping the ghost cross over. (This is really Holmes' area of expertise, but he is not back yet!) edited to add --(OOops- just got a pm from him entitled "back" !!!!) As you progress with your studies, expect odd things to occur. I think you can decide if you would be more comfortable with the way a guide presents itself. For example, some people don't like to see or hear things physically, so the guides don't show up that way so as not to scare them. (You could do a reading on it. ) What else did it say & how are you planning to de-ghost the place?? Tarotphelia

as alwasy one would reccomend to ground, raise up your vibration and to sage, sweetgrass the house, and put on some postive uplifting music if that song is like a prayer. (i like that song by madonna :O). but i was going to suggest posting a self reading on it as well and tarotphelia beat me to it as for the little voice, a little voice can be many things, and from many differnt influences. it is first necessary to protect and ground oneself before going on wards for it is not usual for one eyes to phrase out like that when we are connectin with the highher guides unless we are open spiritually and have already a connection with them, then in such a case they are showing us a differnt way to view reality. in this case, the voice and presence being constrained by gravity suggest to me that it is an earth spirit of nature such as fairies, or power animals, that are making their presence known. howevever go by gut feelings, and protection of light here, for lower level entities can play tricks like that, in order to gain one confidence. if it felt high wisdom and a high vibration then so much the better yet it could be a "little person" in the forum of lepuchans type. it is not a mental process you are encountering through, take peace in that. :O). and see how you feel after an extensive grounding, light raising vibration (i get a sense to used the light to fill up the whole aura just in case of auric holes)

S. Jade – IMO we’re not nuts as long as we are capable of evaluating & acting independently of voices, & treat them as consultants, not holy-know-it-alls. I’ve been a trance channeling medium since 1972, I assure you I function quite normally in the mundane world. Your description of your experience sounds very similar to the voice I hear & recognize as my guide. Just FYI, in my former career as a social worker with abused children & the mentally retarded, psychological evaluation was required of all staff, & I was assessed as well adjusted & wholesomely normal, & more optimistic than most...which I attribute to my side-line in mediumship. I hope that your ghost-busting has been from a desire to aid your resident ghost in progressing on its journey & not from fear or a disturbance. Ghosts are not any more good or evil than when they were living persons. I can empathize that the experience was cage-rattling. If you can handle the challenge to mundane thinking, you are being invited to explore a greater world than what is right in front of your nose. If you prefer not to follow up on it, you are free to enjoy that as well. After 30 years of it, I can tell you I have no regrets for following the path with the guidance I've received. I sincerely wish you the best of the experience! Enjoy it.

The ghost that I'm getting ready to shoo away is very malevolent. No poltergeist like activity that I have noticed or that has been mentioned to me by the previous residents. It's a strange situation. I grew up in this house the first 10/11 years of my life and i only really knew it was there the last one or two years I lived there. It got to where I was terrified to take a shower because I could feel it on the other side of the wall. I think it /might/ have been there all along because I was afraid of the same specific part of the house as a child, but then that could have been being a kid. ~shrug~ At any rate, I never mentioned any of this to the tennants who rented the house when we moved out. They are good friends of mine and each of the daughters of the family has mentioned the ghost to me independatnly of one another. Apparently for one of the girls it made very bold appearances and tried to scare her as well. I'm moving back in, working on fixing the thing up, and I can tell it's still there. It was following me around one night when I was there all alone. I, actually as you all were just suggesting to me, was kinda scolding it and telling it to get out and leave me alone. I do have a sort of ritual thing planned that I need to do before we put in the new carpets, but I can't say I've noticed it around since that night so perhaps it got the hint. This other thing. Well, I can't say it gave me any creepy feelings at all. Although I did disagree with what it had to say, it /seemed/ as though it was trying to give me advice. I, apparently, dont have ANY decks on my person right now and so a reading will have to wait, but that's certainly what I'm going to do on that part. Thanx so much for the confirmation that I'm not crazy, heh. I had thought perhaps it was some sort of 'guide' but I know less than nothing about that sort of thing and all the books I glanced at (while awaiting my copy of Harry Potter the other night :) ) weren't of any help. From the feeling I got from it, I'd say I wouldn't mind if it stuck around. But I certainly hope, as Holmes made mention, that it isn't trying to trick me or anything. Jade, Conversing with spirits is fraught with the same difficulties as speaking with people. People will sometimes tell the truth, but sometimes they tell lies, stretch the truth, or try to impress. There is nothing to suggest that these things change with death. Tarot does not lie. Its not always easy to read the cards, but the cards just don't lie. If you want to get rid of this pesky poltergeist, I think you'll have better luck if you first try and find out why its still hanging around. It may need to vent its feelings before it leaves, or it may need to have some unfinished task completed. Whatever the reason, I think you need to do a little research, whether via Tarot or old newspapers in the library. Once you know what's happening, I think you'll have a much better chance of success. Its not normal for people to hang around after they've died. If you truly fix the problem, I believe this spirit will travel to its next destination. In the end, not only will you be rid of a ghost, you will have given peace to a restless soul.

By the way, when you do readings or rituals, I would definitely do so within a circle. I would also banish the unwanted spirit before you perform your rites.
