Can someone please tell me what they know about Dragons. ~cough:mystik Dragon??:cough~

I realize i ought to pick up _dancing with dragons_ to help out what I want to know. But I figured this was a good start. I'm mostly trying to align what I'm thinking with what's possible/not possible.

Weird things happening, curisoty killed the cat and all.

Thanx in advance.

There's a ton of information on dragons...could you be more specific?

lol, i'm not even sure. Let's see...

Alright, how do most people see them? (when meditating, in a trance, in ordinary daily life, etc.)

Do most people actually "see" them? Or simply know they are there?

What size range are they in?

Do they all look similar (aside from the color variance that I've heard discusses)? If not, how widely do they vary.

Why are they here? What do they do?

Do they speak or communicate in any other way?

There is a commonality among Shaman’s throughout the world. When one first ‘cracks the sky’, or journey’s into the sky-realm, they meet Dragons. This is a universal commonality – neophytes are not told…they just…meet the Dragons.

So sometimes when you come back…you may continue to see them, and they you…

There are commonalities in appearance…and variations…but they will not conform to your rules or guidelines.

They have tremendous senses of humor – often ranging to darn near cruel. They are honest, and good companions – and not to be trusted.

Enjoy…

honest yet not to be trusted?

Is it only shamans that have 'breached the sky' (is this astral projection you speak of?) that have seen them or are there others?

I've had no experience with dragons as personal aquaintances, but the dragon is often used as a symbol of Earth power &, like the serpent, of kundalini that has been mastered.

I visualize a dragon as my home's guardian & protector. She curls nicely on the roof of my house and keeps a lookout for tresspassers.

I am glad this subject has been bought up!

When I was really young (too young to remember:() My mum said that I had an imaginary friend, whom I would always talk to. When she asked me who I was talking to I would always say "My friend, my friend the dragon".
So as most mothers in that era, she said 'really??" that's nice darling'....
The point to this is, after all the learning over the years and reading up on these "imaginary " friends,I now know that most of them are actually guides and spirits. So mum thought it was wierd that I would have "made up" a mystical creature like a dragon, so now (30 years on) I do beleive that I actually DID have a dragon friend. I would like to know if I would ever be able to "see" him again!!

Cheers
Kazz

WOW Kaz, for a minute then I thought I had written your post, but couldn't remember doing it lol
I too had a 'pet' dragon when i was little, that used to sleep in a cardboard box I made my mum put at the end of my bed!

I hadn't considered the possibility of 'seeing' him(?) again, but now it has given me something to think about, and perhaps meditate on.

Btw, I am sure there is loads of info on dragons on teh internet, I know in Wales (UK) there are many dragon legends.

I haven't been working with Dragons for very long, but I'll tell you what I know.

When I see the dragons, I'm in a mixed state of meditation/trance (and one point, near death).

*For the near death explanation, I was in early labor with my son, and the doctors gave me a drug that slows down (relaxes) all your soothe muscles (including your heart). It's a fine line between stopping your contractions without stopping your heart. I was going in and out of the spiritual realm EASILY. At one point, I found myself surrounded (in a half circle) of 4-5 dragons. They were huge (kinda like dragon heart). Some I could see wings on them and others were land and/or water. They were all laying down but their eyes were open. I spoke to them telepathically and asked "what are you all doing here?" and they replied "we're waiting for him to arrive" and I "knew" who they were waiting for but I asked them anyways. "who are you waiting for?" and they replied "we're waiting for your son to come, to be born, he's one of us" I said "oh, may I wait with you?" and one of the earthly green dragons (with all kinds of different blotches that made him look as though he could hide in any forest terrain) lifted his head slowly and motioned his head in a way to tell me to feel free to lay against him. So I did, and I fell asleep against him.

Later that month, during xmas, my sister bought me the celtic dragon tarot. I did some meditative work with this deck and found my dragon guide who happend to be the same dragon I leaned up against while in labor with my son at the hospital.

I don't use the celtic dragon tarot often, as dragons don't have much to say very often. But every once in a while, they like to speak, and their message is slow, heavy, and deeply powerful/meaningful. Usually when they want to talk, I think "oh my, ok, this is serious, whatever it is".

I think of dragons kinda like ents in lord of the rings. They move slowly, their very wise, their very old to the point where they are part of the forest, water, sky, or earth. When they do speak, it's usually slow and more in the manner of emotions (empathic telepathy) vs using a bunch of english words. They like their words to be clear with as little confusion as possible, and that's next to impossible with the english language.

I believe they range in sizes, everything from a cat size lil dragons (usually these guys fly around though) to huge, whale size dragons.

They vary greatly with how they look, their colors, etc. Try taking a look at the Celtic Dragon Tarot. When I saw the dragons that I came across in my near death, they looked almost exactly like they do in the cards of the celtic dragon tarot.

No one can really answer why any creature is here. But they do make for great guides. Very wise, and with that comes a gentleness (that I've found anyways) and comfort. Very peaceful and relaxing, yet you know you're being well cared for and in good company.

There's a lot of legends, stories, whatnot that depict dragons as very wise yes, but very smart and cunning. That's why people say you should never trust a dragon. They are so wise that they can be honest while tricking you into something. For me personally, I trust my dragon guide, so I don't follow that rule of thumb. It's up to you to make that decision.

I think it's great that other people here have had imaginary friends while they were young, with dragons no less. I had an imaginary friend, but she was a fire spirit (her whole body encased in what looked like a flame). She could turn it different colors and everything. My mom would ask "who are you playing with?" I would tell her "my friend Shandora" and mom got MAD. So next time she asked me who I was playing with, I just answered, "no one mom, just pretending with my dolls". She didn't mind that LOL.

sagitarian, Your whole post has made me sooo jelous, it's not healthy. But I'm happy to see that there are real dragons, some posts that I've read in the past make it seem that a few 'kiddies' are making up these friends so that they can feel included. I don't know, maybe it's just the way people wright. Or maybe it's because I feel left out, knowing that so many other people can see dragons but I'm still left on the waiting list with very little possibility of success. (not to mention very little hope)

Do you have the celtic dragon tarot deck, or a dragon deck? If you do, or if you acquire one, here is an excercise that you can do. THis excercise came straight from the book that comes with the celtic dragon tarot.

You take all the aces of the dragon deck and put them together. Set the rest of the deck aside. Meditate. When you begin to meditate, go to a bridge with water running under it. Imagine yourself purging all your thoughts, worries, concerns, and events of the day into the stream and watch it all flow away. This way you'll be focused and clear while meditating. Once you feel "purged" of all of this, then continue to walk onto the other side of the bridge. Imagine yourself on top of a mountain. Call out "The dragon that is to be my guide, please show yourself" then close your eyes (in the meditation) and when you open them, you should be next to your dragon guide. You may be in the water, or on a mountain, in the forest, or up in the air flying next to him/her. You'll be safe no matter where you are with your dragon guide. You can speak to your dragon guide too. Asking him/her questions for clarity on issues in your life. That is what they are there for, guidance, wisdom, and clarity. Please let me know if you decide to try this, and the results of the excercise. It's what I did to find my dragon guide, and it worked GREAT!

Hi All!

Kazz, I too had an imaginary friend as a child and my Mom wasn't happy about it, telling me the friend wasn't there and was all make believe. Humm, actually isn't "make believe" what we all do when showing someone else our own truths and they accept them too? Food for thought.

Back to the story, I had to let go of the special friend that I talked with, but around the same time or just a short space of time, my Aunt sent me a Christmas gift of a very delicate, elegant, soft-stuffed angel that was to hang on the wall rather than to be played with as a toy. I was allowed it over my bed and almost immediately the same feelings I had for and with my friend was being with the angel. I tend today to believe it was a spirit guide at the time and an outlet for me to communicate to the guide. When I was not allowed to have my friend, they just found another means that was okay in my Mother's eyes. I was cautious on how I handled (outloud) talking with my angel though, as prayers were to God and I just asked always seemed to include asking that the angels be with me. :-) She didn't have a problem with that.

I know this thread was dealing with Dragons, I haven't any help there. I am putting this here due to the path it took to imaginary friends. But I do feel that all are guides to us, whether they appear as friend in the form of a person, faery, dragon, whatever -- as whatever form it, it is the Universe sending to us what we need at the time.
