I've been a wiccan solitary practitioner for about 12-13 years, but I am increasingly coming across references in books to shamanistic practices. The idea is very appealing to me. I feel that I might relate well to such practices, but I know very little about this.
In particular, does anyone know what "left-shifting" is?
And, in general, can anyone direct me towards a book that can provide me with more information and guidance?
I'd appreciate, too, hearing your opinions and experiences of shamans and their practices.

THE book on shamanism; the way of the shaman, by michael harner.
you would be hard pressed to find another that doesn't refer to this one often. however, it is not a particularly light, easy read. (not difficult either)
if you want something lighter, let me know what aspects of shamanism appeal to you and i'll recommend another.

Thank you, Zorya. I will look for it. If you recommend it, Im not likely to shy away from it even if it is dense reading.
I don't really know anything about shamanism at this point, so I couldn't narrow it down at all.
I'm looking forward to learning something new!
