ideas for intention/ritual to protect homestead

I just found out the house I live in is getting sold. The property includes my unit and a house in front and a house upstairs, of people who all really love living here and want to stay. I am considering sending out some magical intentions for the property, so that for the highest good of all concerned, we will have the opportunity to have the best landlord possible. Any suggestions for what tarot card(s) I might use for this? I am thinking about maybe the "Empress" for protection and abundance, using white and yellow candles. My home environment is very important to me, and would like to contribute to the best outcome possible, through both magical and practical means.

I'd also add the 10 of Cups for home family life, and to a lesser degree the 10 of Pentacles for home possessions.

thanks, HudsonGray.. I hadn't thought about using minor arcana, I like the idea of using 10 of Cups and 10 of Pentacles.

Home is an important extension of ourselves and a cocoon all at once. I share your thoughts on this issue. So I looked in the Tarot spells by Janina Renee.

While there was nothing there exactly what you are looking for, there is one there for “Luck’. This one uses the Star & the World card. Both excellent cards for luck! She suggests that you can use a good luck charm such as a rabbit’s foot or a 4 leaf clover. Other accessories can be flowers, candles and precious metals, crystals and gemstones in gold or silver. Gold symbolizes wealth and expansiveness and silver stands purity of understanding and the state of harmony with all.

“This spell helps you “set things up” around you.. It adjusts the flow of events so that things start happening in your favor, and the world begins being a better place for you to live in. In doing this spell, you give a beneficent “push” to circumstance.”

Here is the Affirmation she uses for this spell:

“ I draw power from the stars
and send them, through me, into the Earth,
then back through myself once again.
Fortune and luck are with me,
Surrounding me everywhere.
All who are about me prosper, as do I.
And I become better, stronger, and
more lucky than ever before.
By all the high and mystical powers
Through whom Fortune shines
So shall it be!”

One last thing…… I went to a channeling on crystals this past Saturday. The suggestion was that one use 4 crystals on the 4 corners of your property. They can be placed in any direction, but the crystals should be, amethyst, citrine, malachite and quartz. This is offered for protection from any negativity, especially that which we cannot see.

I hope this helps, please let us know what happens.

Many blessings,

do you recommend that book "Tarot Spells"? I have "Everyday Tarot" and like the straightforward way it is written...but have been thinking about getting another book on tarot spells, just to get a different perspective.

I don't any silver candles, but I have some yellow- gold ones and some crystals I can use.

I had tremendous success with one of the spells I already tried, and I look at using magic as setting out a very focused prayer and intention. And always include the disclaimer of "highest good of all concerned" to whatever intention I work with.

Thanks for including the affirmation, Ruby Red Slippers, that is something I can definitely adapt!

The book, Magical Tarot, Mystical Tao, by Diane Morgan, would seem to also suggest the ten of cups. It is used in this book for "Deep Roots."

Yes, I do. I like it very much. It is well written and easy to adapt from one spell/ritual to the next. I especially like the affirmations she uses, which of course, can be used interchangeably.

As far as the silver and gold aspects, they can be anything, a ring a bracelet, earrings. Spray paint something with gold or silver. I would also use some of the vegetation around your home on the altar. Ask, if it wants to be part of the ritual and thank it for sharing the love with you.

Remember it is ALWAYS ABOUT INTENTION, so use whatever helps to set that.

I always add the "Harm to none" to all my work. For the highest good. Here's a little rhyming binding for your work from Dorothy Morrison, (author of the whimsical tarot and wiccan High Priestess)

"By karmic power of number three,
This spell tied and knotted be;
So that it contents stay together, And can't harm human, beast or weather."

P.S. Thanks for making me get the book out again, I'm planning some intentional good visualization work for this holiday weekend! :)
