hey everyone out there,
Here is my next card riddle. I guess jmd decided against it. Here goes............
" I must keep an open mind, keep my eyes wide in case I get a sign.
It's time to stop feeling sorry for myself, and like a bird use careful stealth.
Be ready to fly forth with carefree wings, my imprisonment broken My heart can sing.
Must be ever cautious though, for fear I will trip ,
and back into prison I may slip !
I cage myself I know not why, should just have self trust and then I may fly."
Well that's it, hope it doesn't go off too quickly.
Be in touch......... Dark Eyes.

just based on the stealth comment i would say 7 of swords..
(ps i notice no one here tells what deck they are using and so that is why some can't get the riddle,
but i think it helps us to think of the pictures of the tarot in further expansions then what we normaly use eheh )

The 8 of swords is truly correct ! well done Riversea.
Good try Holmes, I can see where you got 7 of swords from.
In my figuring, the 8 of swords indicates self entrapment, where one is afraid to move in case of getting hurt further, so he/she stays where they are. Unfortunately, they seem to not realise that they are only trapped by their own inability to think clearly. All they need do is simply remove their blinkers and look around them, thus realising they are really as free as they want to be, the only ties that bind them are loosely placed there by themself only.
An example is somebody who feels passionately about a particular line of work/hobby, but continues to be bound by their routine instead of breaking out and taking a chance for fear of making a mistake, or feeling silly.( Much like myself) boo hoo.
Yes it is the damned if you do/ damned if you don't card.
I have another example, I had a friend who stayed in a relationship she wasn't happy in. She knew that if she stayed she would never be happy, but if she bailed out, her partner was ruthless and would make sure she suffered. She needed to look for a sign, break her own restraints and (unfortunately ... yes get some hurt) in the long run she would find happiness being out of such a negative situation. Freedom was hers she just had to look.
Anyway, that's my slant on this card.
Over to you again Riversea.
Regards Dark Eyes.
