I am going to be two people for this one, and take a leaf out of Shakespeare's book...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beatrice: Pray thee, Benedick, dost thou love me?
Benedick: Nay, no more than I love a friend! Dost thou love me?
Beatrice: I would rather hear my dog bark at a crow than hear a man say he loved me! Nay, I love you no more than I love a friend!
Onlooker: Those two speak as though there tongues were of swords!
Onlooker2: Aye, and double-edged swords they are too!
Benedick: You do not love me? Then what is this letter, penned by your own hand, in which thou declarest thy love for me?
Beatrice: A letter? Well, you say thou dost not love me, bt I have it in a letter from you that you do.
Benedick: Ah, our words betrayed by our hearts and our hands!
Onlooker: Those two are two halves of the same coin if ever I saw it...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was watching Branagh's 'Much Ado About Nothing' last night, as you can probably tell.
There's some Qabalah in there aswell... })

This was a hard card to characterise, because there seem to be two totally different schools of thought on this card. Ummmm.... I hate to be picking nits... but I posted "Queen of Swords 18 minutes before Kiama did. But, I guess, perhaps, the Queen of Swords might pick the girl over the guy anyway... (just kidding... :D ) I'll get one of the others...
[edited to add:] Come to think of it... it's probably just as well Kiama got it... I'm not sure I'm awake enough to have come up with something good on this... LOL :joke:
[edited again:] Oh heck!!! I just went back and looked... I WROTE THE WRONG CARD!!!!! AAAAIIIIGGGGHHHHH... I know I was thinking of the Queen of Swords... why didn't the rest of you??? :joke: :joke: :joke: Nothing like making one's self look like an idiot in front of your friends!

Sorry Trogon.
Doggon it, I did actually know what you meant, but I distrusted my intuition. :(

Can we have all the clues at once so that everyone is on at equal footing?
This is moving into real Queen Swords territory. The battle of the minds. No quarter given......

I've got no more clues left for my one.
Trogon, sorry, first thought about this one wasn't right... What was your second thought?
(Go on, I know you know it!)

This is a hard one Kiama. Perhaps the clue itself is a subterfuge?
What about the plainand simple LOVERS?

Moongold got it.
The Lovers... It was difficult cuz, like Firemaiden's Queen of Swords, there are two aspects to it: The love, and the communication aspect.
I chose Shakespeare's Benedick and Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing, because they get across both aspects of the card. They love each other, but it is also disguised by the way they communicate: By their wit.
Their tongues are sharp as double-edged swords... That was a reference to the Qabalistic thing for this card: Zayin, the Sword, which corresponds to the Lovers card.
Okay, so it may have been a little difficult, but I was feeling all Shakespeare-like.
