What Card? VIIII the Hermit

I am a senex. I am Chang O. Time may be running out and I am on the path alone, but I am not afraid because I know my past and the way is clear. Who am I? (I hope this one is a bit harder! :) )

The 8 of Cups? I'm guessing this because of the "senex" part and because " I am on the path alone" and 'leaving the past behind...' Plus the moon is pictured on the card illuminating the path. I have another guess as well, but I'll stick with this one for now. :) Cat

Argh! I'm not at all clever, am I? Yes, it's the Hermit. I guess the clues are pretty clear. Senex is a Jungian term for a spiritual elder or Wise Old Man. Chang O comes from IX - Contemplation in the Goddess Tarot. I mentioned time on the clue because some decks show the Hermit with an hourglass. Now it's jlbvt's turn. I'm going to work on a very smart clue for when/if I win again. :P

I only got it so fast beacuse I really love the hermit. I meditate on that card a lot. It was "the way is clear" that gave it away for me, since he holds up his lantern and seeks the ultimate truth. He must know himself well in order to recognize truth outside of himself. Thank you for picking the hermit!
