“The Mole had been working very hard all morning, spring-cleaning his little home. First with brooms, then with dusters; then on ladders and steps and chairs, with a brush and pail of whitewash; till he had dust in his throat and eyes, and splashes of white wash all over his back and fur, and an aching back and weary arms. Spring was moving in the air above and in the earth below and around him, penetrating even his dark and lowly little house with its spirit of divine discontent and longing. It was small wonder, then, that he suddenly bolted out of the house without even waiting to put on his coat. Something above was calling him imperiously, and he made for the steep tunnel… “Up we go! Up we go!” till at last, pop! His snout came out into the sunlight.”
From The Wind in the Willows, Kenneth Grahame
What card has suddenly influenced our little hero?

I love Wind in the Willows. It's such a sweet story :)

I want to live where that's set.
I should really give it to you for Eight of Wands because the fast 'expanding horizens' and the 'opening up to the outside elements' that the 8oW represents fits this quote far better than the one I had in mind.
But I'm not a nice person so you can't have it Ha! ;)
Think what other influence has suddenly taken hold of the Mole to make him act in such an impulsive and determinded way!

What card has suddenly influenced our little hero? Probably too obvious, but... :TSUN The Sun?

Well, it seems as if it would be one of the wands, I'll go out on a limb here, and suggest the Knight.

Basically it took a lot of confidence and determination for him to "bolt" out of his safe little world like that. It's a huge moment fo daring from him, someone hwose never done this before.
I still admit though that the Eight of Wands is so perfect for this, that I should have chosen the quote for that card in the first place; rather than the one I've chosen which clearly isn't triggering the way thought it would! :)
