Missing card: 6 Cups

Here is my three card reading,
The client asked for a general reading, but swayed towards the area of relationships....
...............
It appears to me from your past, that you have been through a period of trying to keep a balanced approach to a situation. With regards to a relationship, I feel that you may have had to possibly cool some emotional feelings or strike an understanding through mixing your passionate feelings more with your mental and rational side. Not knowing the exact nature of the relationship we are talking about made it difficult to interpret this card. I see you keeping the bigger picture in mind and so you acted carefully and and relied on perhaps your spiritual as well as your human parts. Balance is what was required in the past, and by looking at the next card (depicting the present) I can see that you had to make a lot of compromises. The second card is also a card of balance of a type, and you are in a possibly compromising situation right now. The secret here is not to make a decision either way, because you are feeling confused, it would be best to sit on the fence for a while and take in the whole situation. So it seems that you have been balanceing, mixing, compromising and feeling confused, you certainly have had a difficult time on your hands.
The final card, could be your future, or the action you can take to get the most desired outcome under the circumstances. The third card is indicating that a return to your past, perhaps even your childhood could be the answer for you. you are in need of something concrete, something stable, some routine or familiarity.
the difficult period of uncertainty and decisions had left you feeling lost, mixed up, and like you are getting nowhere. you need to catch up with an old friend or relative, draw on your childhood memories perhaps look at some old photos of your family to get in touch with the real you. This will give you stability again, and a feeling of belonging. Then you can strive forward no matter what happens.
The client then told me that she had been stuck between her parents and her inlaws. They don't get on at all, she always feels as if she is stuck in the middle and has to make the peace and juggle family affairs to keep them either apart, or at least just bearing each other. She was sick and tired of making excuses for one or the other and just wanted to tell them all to " go jump".
She felt that she no longer had an identity because all they seemed to care about was how they could get back at each other through harsh words or bitching to her, neither of them seemed to care how it was affecting her, or her family. She was at breaking point, and needed stability and focus from all the confusion.
The first card was Temperance, which fitted her past of trying to mix the two elements to gain equilibrium. The second card was the two of swords, this was her feeling confused at present, sitting blindly on the fence wanting to speak up but deciding it was best to wait, and the third card...............? Regaining her structure through going back to her childhood.
As a matter of interest, she actually did go through some old photos, of herself as a child having fun with her parents, as a result, she realised that she loved them too much to hurt them, they had always been there for her during her growing up and now that she was grown up she could switch off to their childish ways. She realised that the tables had turned, she was the sensible one and keeping the peace was worth it. She was able to go on at ease, having finally realised who she was.
Good luck, hope it is not too hard.

Hey there

I wondered about 6 Cups but have just written quite a long post in the RWS Forum saying that I can no longer see that card as representing childhood happiness.

I was pondering that dilemma when you posted, Indigo Lady, so you prevented me from having to ssruggle any further.

Look forward to the next one. I know the feeling Dark Eyes. My clues are either too obscure or hard or too obvious! It probably took you quite a while to write all that, eh? :)
