Ok, this was a reading for someone who was worried that their career was passing them by, along with promotion, and wanted some guidance on their options:
Wheel, 10 Pentacles, ????
It is said that there are only two certainties in life and they are being born, and dying. However there is actually another certainty that we carry with us all our lives, and that is Fear:
Fear of the unknown; Fear of what tomorrow will bring; Fear of change.... and worst of all, the fear of not knowing how we will cope with this change.
This is what the Wheel is all about in this position.
The 10 Pentacles is screaming out to me here - Culmination, Culmination Ultimate success is being able to appreciate what you have achieved already, and being satisfied with it. But is that enough? I feel in the alternative position, you've already achieved all that you can there at this point in your life.
The ............... leads on quite naturally from this then.
It's always hard to journey from familiar into the unknown. But remember that nothing is permanent in life. Eventually, everything that once held so much meaning slips away into comparative nothingness.
To reinforce this card we can see you have achieved as much as you can in the 10 Pentacles, and it is time to take a step into the unknown with the Wheel of Fortune.... and see what it brings you.
Good luck
Allison

Could it be the Death card?
As in a complete transformation of this person's life.

If the tens are the end of a cycle, completion and transformation, wouldn't The Fool lead on naturally from here?

a clue ... it's not a major :O)
Gloria, you are thinking too literally :O). Try and think in terms of the story that is unfolding, not about sequential cards.

If its not the Knight of Discs or maybe the King, then I just don't know. I need another clue.

8 of cups ?? Actually, probably not. It is venturing into the unknown, but probably not as positive a card as the one your describing i guess. Hmmm I will keep trying.

Hooray! we have a winner :O)
Eight of Cups is indeed about striking out on a new path, and leaving behind what is no longer needed.
Sometimes we have to decide what we really want, what we really value, and take steps to achieve it. Even if it means leaving behind what we have built up.
The way ahead may not be fully clear, but we know we have to have the courage of our convictions by closing a chapter of our lives so we can start another.
Your turn Dark Eyes.......
