OK, while I'm still in "Eagles" mode - another really easy one. I can identify (at least) 4 different cards in here but the one I'm really concentrating on is the "consequence" - where are they headed at the end of this song (although it'll be fun to see what others identify as the other three cards - ie who was he, who was she and what was their lifestyle?).
"Life in the Fast Lane"
He was a hot-headed man, he was brutally handsome
She was terminally pretty
She held him up and he held her for ransom
In the heart of a cold, cold city
He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dude
They said he was ruthless, said he was cruel
They had one thing in common, they were good in bed
She'd say "faster, faster, the lights are turning red"
Eager for action, hot for the game
The coming attraction, the drop of a name
They knew all the right people, they took all the right pills
They threw outrageous parties, they were heavily billed
There were lines on the mirror, lines on her face
She pretended not to notice, she was caught up in the race
Out every evening till it was light
He was too tired to make it, she was too tired to fight about it
Glowing and burning, blinded by thirst
They didn't see the stop sign - took a turn for the worse
She said "Listen baby - you can hear the engine rev
We've been up and down this highway
Haven't seen a goddam thing"
He said "Call the doctor - think I'm gonna crash"
"Doctor say he's coming, but you gotta pay him cash"
They went rushing down that freeway
Messed around and got lost
They didn't care - they were just dying to get off
(And it was) Life in the fast lane (surely make you lose your mind)
Life in the fast lane (everything all the time)

"... have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?"

Hi, Rhiannon!
Yes, you're partly right: I see their lifestyle as the Devil, but I think they've gone just beyond that to another card - literally!

Hi, Lunalafey!
I agree that he's the Knight of Swords.
Hadn't thought of her as the Page of Cups, but it is viable.
I think the nature of their relationship is the Devil to a tee and they're so bound up in it they can't escape until - what? I probably didn't make it very clear by putting the chorus at the end but I wasn't quite sure what else to do with it. But no, I didn't have the Fool in mind.

Sorry, Rhiannon - not 8 Swords, but I can follow your thinking. However, I'm looking for something much CLOSER to the Devil!

LOL, LouiQ! I stink at this game!
Ok, so if they are high and "closer" to the Devil card... then they might be passive like Temperance....
But if they've hit rock bottom, the bottom has dropped out and the lightning has struck, then they might be experiencing the Tower....
I keep saying the Tower for everything! What does that say about my psyche?????

Hi, Dark Eyes - sorry but it's not the Moon, at least not quite yet.
Yes, Rhiannon, you've got it this time - I'm going to take the Tower as your final answer as you've mentioned it twice! The clue for me is the line "they didn't care - they were just dying to get off" which conjures up the image of those two figures leaping from the Tower: they must be desperate to take that jump.
So, take it away Rhiannon!!!

I'd like to thank all the little people..... *sob*
LOL, I'll start a new one as soon as I think of something! Thanks LouiQ!
