Missing Card: I The Magician

Thread originally posted on the Aeclectic Tarot Forum on 22 Jun 2003, and now archived in the Forum Library.

"A" wishes to improve communications with "B".

What is obstructing communication? The Ace of Wands
What might foster communication? Seven of Pentacles
What may evolve? Le mystère
The Ace of Wands suggests that paradoxically, communications are obstructed for there being an overly great energy of desire between A and B, that are bursts and starts and fits that trip over eachother. It also suggests that the relationship is but a seed, but a flame, and needs to be carefully tended so that its energy and nutrients won't be scattered to the four winds. Containment, care and protection are advised.

The Seven of Pentacles continues in the vein of the first, suggesting that in order to foster communication, great patience, and careful, right attention must be lovingly, but firmly applied. There is to be no rushing, no rashness. The very patience is an art of love, just as the artful gardner will stand back watching his grass grow, so must a good lover foster understanding by tending it, watching, and waiting, watering, and ferreting out the weeds of mishapen and wild thoughts.

The final card - Le Mystère shows that when the second card will have been heeded, the relationship between A and B will indeed be powerful, there will be a shared experience of the infinite, electrically charged, and the channels of understanding will flow so cleanly as to be virtually telepathic.

Hmmmm, the infinate, could it be the World XXI?

jmd  23 Jun 2003
XIIII - Temperance ?

Dark Eyes  23 Jun 2003
the High Priestess? :THP

firemaiden  23 Jun 2003
nope, nope, and nope :D

firemaiden  23 Jun 2003
..hey where did you all go? Firemaiden takes a sip of her cherry brandy. Sniff, sniff... they've all gone and left me here holding the deck. What is it, not a good clue? Boooooooo hoooooooooooooo, waaaaaaaaaaaaanh.

Dark Eyes  23 Jun 2003

oooooooooh, you know how to push my buttons.

Ok, with words like understanding I would say The World.

am I right??? Are you on line right now???

urgg, I knew I should stay away from these games. Too competetive I am. Says Sam who is, I am.
Sam I am?

Sorry had a glass of wine at Mom's house, feeling a little goofy right now.

Kaz  23 Jun 2003
might be the lovers.......

firemaiden  23 Jun 2003
Dear Sam I Am, sorry, nope, no Green Eggs and Ham for you, it is still not the World. Also not the nine of cups. :( Not the Lovers either, Kaz.

I really, really want somebody to get it though. I am thinking I might have not have interpreted the card correctly, oy, but that is the name of the game in this one, isn't it; we do a reading, and then whatever weird interpretation I have, ought to make sense, but working backwards to the card from the interpretation might be harder.

Should I give a clue? I was looking at the picture of this card, and the words that came to mind were inspired by some of the stuff in the picture. (how do you like that, a big girl like me, using the word "stuff")

I don't really think it is very competitive, Sam I am, I mean, competitive is when there are lots of people competing, no? I mean, opera is competitive, I've gotta beat out these other babes, louder, higher, faster, bigger...

But these poor little cards, just sitting all lonely-like in the box, do they care how high you can sing? No they do not...

Anyhow, in case anyone needs a little nudge, er.... it is a major :)

Dark Eyes  23 Jun 2003
The star?? :TSTAR

Mimers  23 Jun 2003
Ok, my other thought was the High Priestess, because of your reference to "telepathic"

Am I right??? Huh, huh????

Do I get green eggs and ham???

:D

firemaiden  23 Jun 2003
booo hooo, its a bad clue, they're not getting it, Sam I am, must I eat myself Green Eggs and Ham?

nope, nope, sorry, still not the High Priestess, not the Star. Thanks so hard for trying. Keep going... he's a major...( how many more left?)

Mimers  23 Jun 2003
Well, I certainly didn't need you clue it was a major. I knew intuitively it was a major. Humph....

Ok, my first thought was Strength.

Really it was.

(ok, let me see, there are umm, 18 majors left to guess from)

You know I was also thinking the Tower. Something about the lightning bolt....

Is that it?

Am I allowed 2 guesses per post, Sam?

lunalafey  23 Jun 2003
the Magician?

Moongold  24 Jun 2003
How about the Sun?

Everything is in teh light :) It is such a positive card. There are, for the moment. fewer dark caves of misunderstanding.

firemaiden  24 Jun 2003
LUNA LA FEY GETS THE GREEN EGGS AND HAM!!!!!!!

Sorry Mimers!! I'll make a fresh batch just for you, and we can eat them with a mouse. :)

I interpreted the magician this way, thinking he's about communication, and about magic, so -- why not magical communication? He has infinity on his head, and shoots sparks from his hands - so the experience of infinity, and electrical charge.

Was that really a bad interpretation for the Magician?

Mimers  24 Jun 2003
Nope, not at all, I can see the Magician there now. :(

Dark Eyes  24 Jun 2003
Ha ha Mimers, you made me laugh. Very funny. Well guessed lunalafey, and I did like your clue Firemaiden, I think now that I know I can see it. :smoker:

BoomVoom  24 Jun 2003
2 :CL

BoomVoom  24 Jun 2003
ah! forget it!

;) :D

firemaiden  24 Jun 2003
Sorry, Boom Voom, it was the Magician, Luna la Fey got it.

You probably didn't catch it because of all the talk about "Green Eggs and Ham" - it is a children's book by Dr. Suess that we all read and loved when we were little.

I used 'channels of understanding' ; telepathic ;powerful & infinite as my clues.

my little doggie, Sam I am.....thanks you for the GREEN EGGS AND HAM
I do fruit & muffins in the morning......

now....my turn.....I will pull the cards while I'm off doing laundry...
post when I return.....I'm to start a new thread right?

firemaiden  24 Jun 2003
Ooooh, Luna la fey fed our green eggs and ham to her little doggie. Grrrrrrrrrr. She must not be doing the Atkins diet. :) I hope your little doggie likes green food coloring. Actually, this time, I colored them with spinach. :D (What kind of little doggie????)

Yes, Luna dear, in a new thread. :)

Dark Eyes  24 Jun 2003
I wish I knew how to get the green colouring !! hehehehehe what is the trick you guys ? Is there a way to change font and colouring because I can't find it. I think you are all magic and telepathic. Green, how can I find you. Then I can try green eggs and ham for my breakfast, as well as my Atkins diet of egg and cheese....................... ugghhhh which I am fast getting fed up with... pardon the pun.

Moongold  24 Jun 2003
Dark Eyes,

You simply do this

Do a QUOTE look at Firemaiden's post or mine and you'll see what we did :D

Press the Quote button in the bottom righ hand corner of this post and then you'll see exactly what to do. You can nominate different colours e.g. yellow, gold, blue, pink, red et cetera. You must use the right brackets i.e. the square ones like this [ ]. And you must remember to close off the sentence like this [/color].
Color is spelled the US way as well i.e. color.

Have a practice :D

Dark Eyes  24 Jun 2003
Hi there Moongold, hope you are keeping well ! I'll give it a try thanks.... here goes....

Dark Eyes  24 Jun 2003
