Ice Cream Tarot

We've had threads discussing flavors of cards before, even alcoholic flavors, but I was just eating some Ben & Jerry's and was thinking... what if each card was an ice cream flavor?

10 of Pentacles = Ben & Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie flavor (cinnamon ice cream with fudge chunks and oatmeal cookie pieces.) This flavor reminds me of family gatherings, like baking cookies at Christmas.

3 of Pentacles = Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath bar flavor (coffee ice cream with Heath (toffee) bar pieces) Coffe and Toffee are both sort of grown up tastes, don't you think? And you have to have coffee at work, right?

2 of Cups = Haagen Daaz Strawbery Cheesecake flavor (cheesecake ice cream with strawberry swirl and graham pieces) Not quite the same rich love as the Lover's card.. but it comes really close!

Devil = Ben & Jerry's Phish Food (chocolate ice cream with caramel and marshmallow swirl and fudgy fish!) Can you get very much more decadent than THAT???

Ace of Cups = Peach (any brand) There's just something about peach that's fresh and new feeling!

So, what are your favorite cards, I mean flavors!?! LOL
R :)

Empress= berry or is it blueberry? Cobbler one.
THat earthy natural feel. Back in the old days when moms made cobblers and let them cool on the window sill. For that big barn raising party.

death by chocolate. mmmm wonder which card i'm thinking of !!!

Chronata  10 Jul 2003
I think the Page of Cups is a Baskin Robin's Bubble Gum...

And the Queen of Wands strikes me as a Chocolate Peanut Butter cup ice cream.

The Queen of Swords makes me think of mint chocolate chip, and the Queen of Pentacles I can see as a rich brownie cheesecake kinda flavor...
The only Queen, I think, that doesn't remind me of Chocolate is Cups....Which makes me think of a fruity sherbet of some kind...perhaps pineapple...

And 6 of Cups is anything from a Good Humor ice cream truck on a hot summer day!

The queen of swords reminds me of the sour warheads !! They look nice and sweet, and they won't unleash their sour unfriendliness on you unless you try to destroy them. The minute you put them in your mouth and try to dissolve them.... look out ! the poison will attack you.
I am an aquarius female, and unfortunately that is what I am like. I will help anybody in any way possible, but if they cross me in any unjust or unfair way... they can forget it from then on. Great to have on your side... but you don't like them when they're angry. Best not to make an enemy of them huh!!
Best wishes D.E. :)

whoops,
sorry ! Just realised we are supposed to be discussing ice cream flavours.... ? The sour warhead is a lolly. :| I feel like a dope now. Let me see, an ice cream flavour to describe the queen of swords.... Licorice... ! Yes, that would be it... there are sweet swirls and bitter swirls in the same scoop. Also, it is black in parts, grey in parts and white in parts. Very much a sweet ice cream with a dark side to it.

Vanilla....mmmm...making me hungry. Temperance maybe? Or an Ace? Something pure and simple about vanilla but yet to sweet.

jema  21 Jul 2003
The fool is an odd yet refreshing Pop-corn ice-cream:)

the 10 of swords would of course be the ice-cream cone you drop in the street before you even get a bite;)

SongDeva  29 Aug 2003
The Chariot?

Or maybe something cool and refreshing like the ace of cups...or the knight of cups...maybe the knight of cups.

mercenary30  29 Aug 2003
There is definaly a few gimmies, like blue moon.

What about Neopolitan? How about the pope/heirophant.

Would Superman be the Emperor?

catti  29 Aug 2003
would have to be the sun
we have corn ice cream here too though, i think a cup o corn and peanut would be the sun

really it is yummier than it sounds

and the knight of wands would have to be one of those drumstick ice creams, cones with chocolate inside and lotsa nutty topping and chocalate on top......MMMMMMMMMMM

:) and baskin robbins counter would be wheel of fortune?

Elle  29 Aug 2003
Something organic, like Green Tea Ice Cream or an organic herbal sorbet...

Warmest,

Elle

:T9C Nine of Cups
Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby.
But I don't think they make that anymore, at least I haven't seen it in a while.

oh! I want to play! these are great so far...

let's see...

2 of Pents - chocolate and vanilla swirl?

5 of Wands - Kitchen Sink? (yep, there's an ice cream called that... I think it's a mixture of almost every kind of flavor. ick. ... too many "conflicting" flavors...

Page of Wands - Butter Crunch (I dunno, it seems to fit)

The Hanged Man - one of those "upside down" sundaes with the cone on top (with cherries and whipped cream to make it that look like a smiley face... Friendly's had a sundae like this...) you know, it either be an upside-down icecream cone, or a right-side up face -- but either way, it's smiling.

hmmm, this is harder than I thought!

Who could Pistachio be??? That's my favorite... but I can't seem to find a fit.

ugh. it's a good thing I already broke the diet, cause if not, this thread may have put me over the edge! haha :)

**** edited to add: okay, this may be kinda gross... but the Tower could be when you've eaten waaaay too much ice cream... and, uh, it comes back up. sorry! Couldn't resist. I had my tarot book out while I was coming up with matching flavors -- and I glanced down and saw "Sudden Upheaval" for the Tower card. LOL

Ooh, Rocky Road for the Hermit...just seems right, somehow. Vanilla for the Star, I think. And Green Tea for the Empress, definately. Very earthy. Fudge for the Lovers, as a rule, but Strawberry for the Lovers in the Hanson-Roberts deck. It just looks like them. Black Cherry for the Moon.
