Congrats, Rusy Neon (you're good at these games!)
Fun game, firemaiden. Sorry I didn't get a chance to guess (Rusty's too fast!). Let's do it again sometime!

Excellent game, Firemaiden! I fell for your 'fool's Moon' hook, line, and sinker! :D I thought, "Well, that's WAY too easy. I expected more from Firemaiden!" ;)
Silly me!
Peace,
Melvis

Okay, Melvis: here's another one.
What am I? and what (RWS) card am I from?

Oooo, oooo! I know! I know!
Can I answer the question, or do I have to defer to give Melvis the first shot at it?

Thanks for waiting for me Jeannette and/or Lori...that was nice! :D But I don't know if I'll get it, so you can probably answer it correctly after I flub it!
My first thought is The World, but that would be too obvious (???) so I'm going to say The Wheel of Fortune.
Peace,
Melvis

Thanks, Melvis -- you're too kind!
The card is... the King of Swords!
Whee! :D
(Confession: my 8-year-old son helped point me in the right direction.) :|

lol, lol, lol, yes indeed it is from the king of swords. Congratulations Jeanette and/or Lori! (sorry Melvis)
What on earth do you think it represents? Doesn't this look rather playful and joyful to be decorating the Sword King's throne?

Actually, firemaiden, I'd tend to describe the little ladies (I presume) as "wistful-looking."
Whee-fun! Let's do it again! Hee hee!

That's got to be the Two of Wands -- but where are you getting those scans? (Or, alternatively, what deck are you scanning?) That pic shows more detail than I could get out of a scan of my personal RWS cards.

Yessiree, its the two of wands! and doesn't that look like a face? (Well, I do see faces everywhere, but to me, it looks like the crone again)
I am using the Universal Waite deck. If I scan only the detail and not the rest of the card at, say 600 dpi, it will give me a fair amount of detail.
Its called " phun with photoshop" . I did the same thing to some old family photos in black and white -- photos of relatives I never met, and photos of my grandparents when they were in their twenties, etc. The results were astounding. The old black and white photographs were a very high quality and yielded amazing secrets when being enlarged via scanner.
I really ought to be doing this exercise with the original, not the universal waite, it would have more legitimacy, but whatever, here the colours are fun :D

firemaiden: Duh on me! I realized not long after I made my last post that you'd probably used one of the recolored RWS variants. That's very interesting about how the 600 dpi scans brings out so much details in old photographs as well as tarot cards!
Now, for a real challenge, I suppose you could try some pix from the borders of the Diamond Tarot, and see who could identify the card from those -- LOL!
})
Thanks again for a fun game!

Since not everyone "has the technology", perhaps there shouldn't be a winner, but I'd be interested to see what folk make of this. It might be quite EASY for some of you!

P.S. Lateral thinking rather than deck searching seems appropriate!

Looks like something from the Ator tarot?
Or are we still on RWS and -clones?

Macavity:
I'm not sure what the question is. Maybe the point of the exercise is to figure out the question?
If so, how very "zen" of you.

"He only does it to annoy, because he knows it teases?" :D I should perhaps have added: Deck? Card? I have seen a lot of references to this deck recently here, so some of you have been looking at precisely these blobs - and recently too :P That said, I might have been a bit "ambitious" on this one. Sorry! })

I don't want to lose my 1 for 1 record, but here it goes .... Perhaps it's one of the yellow blobs from the Tower card from a Tarot de Marseille deck, possibly the Jodo-Camoin. Sticking my neck out further, perhaps it's the first yellow blob, on the left hand side of the card, below the crown.

What can I say but .... Yes, right on all counts! I won't haegl(?) over which particular blob it was ;)
