20 Questions-Solved

Thread originally posted on the Aeclectic Tarot Forum on 28 Oct 2003, and now archived in the Forum Library.

here's the rules:
the usual 20Q rules apply:

yes & no questions only

modified for tarot forum:
-base questions on the image only
-NO questions involving; suits, numbers, major & minor.
-you can not post another question until your last post is answered
-invalid Q's will not be answered
- save your CARD guess until all 20 questions have been made
-please don't number your question

Declaring a winner:
the one who guesses correctly......
~ in the event that everyone seems stumped;
we can, a) go for 20 more Q's
b) who ever guesses the card that sits closest to the mystery card in the deck.

So.....new game...ready.......set........go!

this card comes from the Legends- Arthurian deck~ GOOD LUCK!

jmd  28 Oct 2003
is the card one of the ones shown on Aeclectic by Solandia?

ie:[I thought this was a fair question, given it is an aeclectic game - but if you don't think so, than just dismiss the question :)]

edited to fix link.

Just a quick question about the rules of the game...

When you say 20 questions, is that 20 questions per person or for the whole game?

skytwig  28 Oct 2003
Also, can we post a question if someone else's question hasn't been answered yet?

lunalafey  28 Oct 2003
{question on rules- YES-you can ask a question if the others are still waiting to be answered- it's 'your' unanswered question you must wait on- that way a single individual can't just post all 20Q's right of the bat......20 Questions for the thread- not per person- everyone gets to see all 20 questions.

JMD- your link does not function, there for I can not answer-
the question is valid- just can't check the link.

luna: Never heard of this deck. But I'll pop in here to read the fun.

Although I could ask a question, seeing as I'm here, although it won't get me anywhere.

Does the card have flowers on it?

**please don't wait for each question to be answered to ask a question- unless you have just asked & are awaiting an answer....I can wake up in the morning and answer a bunch of questions

Emily  29 Oct 2003
Does the card feature a female figure?

jmd  29 Oct 2003
So... so far, we have:
 • The card is not one of the ones depicted on Aeclectic's main site;
 • it does NOT have flowers on it;
 • it is NOT of an indoor scene; and
 • neither does it depict a horse!
Does the card depict more than one person?

Kiama  29 Oct 2003
Does the card feature water?

In white on the left side of the wheel

Kiama  30 Oct 2003
I think it's a man...

Look closely and you will see the moustache.

Also, there is a tradition that going around the Wheel is the same person at different stages in their life. In this one, we have a king (presumably King Arthur?) ruling at the top. ("I am reigning".) We have a man falling down the right-hands side towards doom and monsters. ("I have reigned".) We have a man being eaten by monsters at the very bottom ("Aaaagh! Nooo!") And finally, for consistency, it must be a man climbing up the left-hand side of the wheel ("I will reign".)

Indeed the book that accompanies the deck also says it is a man:

"Past experience with the downturn of the wheel can shake our confidence, leaving psychological wounds, particularly insecurity and mistrust of fortune. These fears inhibit our efforts to climb, as represented by the creature who claws at the rising man." (Keeper of Words, p.69)

There's really no point in me saying any of that, but I just thought I'd do it for the hell of it. ;)

For the hell of it? I'd say not......for I just learned something.....well, re-learned.
I have read the book in bits & pieces, not all is retained.but thanks to you, I'll never forget it now.

Mystic Zyl  31 Oct 2003
Oh my that figure still looks like a lady, I guess it is a gender bender.
