What card am I?

Thread originally posted on the Aeclectic Tarot Forum on 22 Nov 2003, and now archived in the Forum Library.

What this power is I cannot say.
All I know is that it exists, and it becomes available only when a man is in that state of mind in which he knows exactly what he wants, and is fully determined not to quit until he finds it.
(Shakespeare)

What card am I?

jmd  22 Nov 2003
I - the Magician ?

gloria  22 Nov 2003
I am afraid not JMD :)

gloria  22 Nov 2003
JMD just to add.... the power here isn't that of the Magician.

Diana  22 Nov 2003
7 of Swords.

Moonbow*  22 Nov 2003
The Hierophant??

Tallarico  22 Nov 2003
Wild Guess...

When he is in the proper state of mind...The Fool?

Moonbow*  22 Nov 2003
Can I have another guess????

Moonbow*

gloria  22 Nov 2003
No, so far.

"when a man is in that state of mind"
Don't take this too literally, it isn't the mental power at issue here.
And yet, the saying 'strong in mind, strong in body" would be a link to this card. :)

Diana  22 Nov 2003
The Chariot. (I hesitated between this and the 7 of Swords in my previous post. But I was thinking that you would have chosen a minor to make it more difficult for us - lol - ).

Moonbow* : you can definitely have more than one guess!

gloria  22 Nov 2003
Not the Chariot Diana.

Kiama  22 Nov 2003
Ace of Swords? All the talk of strong minds, etc etc...

gloria  22 Nov 2003
Not Ace/Swords Kiama.

I think what would help is if you concentrated more on his body rather than his mind!
(Purely on the grounds to determine which card he is, of course.)

Diana  22 Nov 2003
Hanged Man?

Moonbow*  22 Nov 2003
Mine was going to be Chariot too. I'll think again..

Jewel-ry  22 Nov 2003
Knight Wands ?

Dark_angel  22 Nov 2003
Knight of Swords?

gloria  22 Nov 2003
I'd like to reassure everybody that this thread of What card am I? has no connection with the Literature clues.
Read the text as a whole and take into account there is no deep, heavy, underlying interpretation.
This you'll realise when the card is revealed.

Diana  22 Nov 2003
Strength?

gloria  22 Nov 2003
Strength is on the right lines but not the card I have in mind.

jmd  22 Nov 2003
The Hermit?

Dark_angel  22 Nov 2003
King of Wands?

gloria  23 Nov 2003
No so far,

This is a visual card (RW) and the last line of text should lead you in the right direction.

G.

jmd  23 Nov 2003
Six Wands... :)

gloria  23 Nov 2003
JMD you're getting warmer. :)

Dark_angel  23 Nov 2003
Nine of Wands?

gloria  23 Nov 2003
Yes Dark_Angel you have it.

The guy on the RW card definitely isn’t a quitter.
He has had to face up to a lot of opposition in life. He has been hurt physically as well as mentally, but he still has that power within to face up to life and fight back.
He’s not out of the woods yet, but knowing what he wants and how to get it, the battle is as good as won.

Over to you now......

Dark_angel  23 Nov 2003
Ok, I'll be back ASAP! Hope I can come up with something as interesting as yours!
