famous/infamous...tarot card likenesses

Hiya all,
I don't know if this has been done before but I sometimes read about someone either famous or infamous and am reminded of certain cards in the tarot. Not always the look of the card, sometimes the meaning behind the card.

For example, I think of the card when I read about

In many areas of life we obviously are reminded of tarot cards whether it be an occurence or event, a character from a book,a famous movie star, a famous singer, politicians, criminals, royalty, religous people or a T.V star. Anybody or event of significance or interest would be fine.

I was wondering if anybody else has any famous or infamous resemblences or similar meanings to people or events that have stuck in their mind !

Interested parties welcome to join in.

Please send your opinions, it could also help us all to get more out of a card and help us to remember the meanings of cards in a different way.

Thanks in anticipation...

Hi Dark Eyes ~

How are you?

I guess alot depends on the deck, huh?

Looking at Morgan Greer......

8 Pentacles - I see George Harrison. The man in the card has a moustache and colouring reminiscent of George. George was at once the most spiritual yet grounded of the Beatles and he had a whole corpus of work which didn't see the light of day until after the Beatles disbanded. 8 is the number of power and fulfilment and George certainly had that. Whilst representing Earth, the Pentacle is also a symbol of magical transformation and I also think George somehow connects with that association.

In this image the figure is quietly working away creating something quite beautiful of his own. You get the sense that George Harrison was his own man - apart from the pzazz of the Beatles.

Check out the 4 of Cups on the Robin Wood deck... Luke Skywalker? And the 7 of Pentacles in the same deck... Xander from Buffy the Vampire Slayer...?

On a more serious note, (based on meaning instead of image) when I see the Ace of Swords, I think of Aleister Crowley: the mind of a genius.

Hi Moongold and Kiama,
I am fabulous thanks. have been very busy so I've had some time away from Aeclectic, but it's hard to stay away too long, there's too much to learn here !
Excellent interpretations Moongold and Kiama !

It's amazing what people see in the cards.

Despite what happens to Michael jackson, whethr guilty or not, I see the "Fool" card in him. He is childlike and a free spirit in some ways, but he has a foolish side who takes a chance on things that are not accepted and ventures into the unknown even though warned against it.

Dark eyes. :)

It's unfortunate, but I see the recently actor turned governor of California as the Knight of Swords.

And I believe a backwards motto might be "Where angels fear to tread, ____ rush in."

And I wanted to retire here, sigh...

anyways, in the light and shadow tarot the 3 of wands reminds me of pocahontus in the disney movie. the part where she's looking out and sees the ship of john smith and all them doods going to their land to find gold or something (i havnt really seen the movie..haha)

in the same deck, the lovers reminds me of the 2 lover peoples in save the last dance.

same deck, the hermit looks like gandalph in the lord of the rings movies.
