Lit. Game

Thread originally posted on the Aeclectic Tarot Forum on 09 Dec 2003, and now archived in the Forum Library.

Mystic Zyl  09 Dec 2003
Sister Brigid couldn't help help it; her young and compassionate heart went out to every helpless creature, from stray puppies to old lonely ladies. She had become a nun in order to serve all people-to care for many not just one. Then Larry Dinneen came into her life, with his two appealing children who so craved a mother's love. Her friend Father Porter Woods watched with concern as Brigid tried to choose between her holy vocation and her awakening needs as a woman. For guidance, she turned to God, and her answer came in a most surprising form.

This papagraph was taken from Flesh and Spirit by Elizabeth Christman.

XI Strength?

Mystic Zyl  09 Dec 2003
Great answer jmd, but not the card I had in mind.

Bluemanticore  09 Dec 2003
5 of pentacles?

Cerulean  09 Dec 2003
Rainbow

jmd  10 Dec 2003
XVIIII the Sun?

MattDouglas  10 Dec 2003
4 of Cups. See three (guy and two kids) cups, but is thinking about other things as well. Then the one (as opposed to the all) is presented.

gloria  10 Dec 2003
The Lovers?

Star Spirit  10 Dec 2003
High Priestess?

Lady Mary  10 Dec 2003
Queen of Pentacles?

Mystic Zyl  10 Dec 2003
Some really great answers, but not the one I was thinking of. I know this situation had many cards that would be appropriate responses.

Sorry no.

Lady Mary  10 Dec 2003
2 of Swords for the decision she's to make?

Mystic Zyl  10 Dec 2003
Oh, Lady Mary another great answer, sorry no.

jmd  10 Dec 2003
(if RWCS imagery)

6 Cups?

Mystic Zyl  10 Dec 2003
jmd you are a deep thinker! I am pretty simple, so I was hoping this answer would be simple too. Sorry but no.

Lady Mary  10 Dec 2003
Empress? She has a great love for everybody and everything.

gloria  10 Dec 2003
The Hermit?

Bluemanticore  10 Dec 2003
6 of pentacles?

Jewel-ry  10 Dec 2003
Hierophant ?

MattDouglas  10 Dec 2003
Hanged Man, sees the answer when upside-down.

jmd  10 Dec 2003
AHhh.... yes.... the Empress (she fell pregnant! }))...

but as Lady Mary has already posted this... how about the other card which is often depicted as pregnant: Queen of Swords?

Star Spirit  10 Dec 2003
Well I originally thought the Empress, but I thought that was too obvious. I had another thought which I also thought would be kind of obvious, but I'll say it now.

The Queen of Cups?

Mystic Zyl  10 Dec 2003
Yes, Lady Mary is correct, it is the Empress. I am glad you solved
this so quickly.

Your turn to start a game.

Star Spirit  10 Dec 2003
Aw no fair. I knew I should have said the Empress :D

I just thought no....that's WAY too obvious. I assumed that's why nobody else guessed it. What a dirty trick, Mystic_Zyl :)

Mystic Zyl  11 Dec 2003
Yep this is me a tricky............ next time is will be harder.

I did consider the answer to be the 2 of pentacles, pentacles being spirituality and also material earthly things like a family. But I thought better not to make it a Minor Arcana as this is a Major Arcana decision to be made.
