A Crescent Moon rode the sky. Stu turned his face up to it thankfully and then walked across the lawn toward the road. The grass wasy dressed with dewfall. He could hear wind whispering in the pines.

'I'm alive' Stu Redmond said to the night. He began to cry. 'I'm alive, thank God I'm alive, thank You God, thank You God, thank You -'

Tottering a little he began to walk down the road.'

and Bad Typing :) :)

No to the others as well :)

Diana  01 Dec 2003
Okay, one more before I hit the sack. (Naah! I don't really sleep in a sack.)

The Star?

Minderwiz  01 Dec 2003
No not the Star :(

Minderwiz  01 Dec 2003
Like Diana, I'm now going to hit the sack (well it can't hit back :) )

See if we've a winner in the morning!

Sweet dreams all

Mystic Zyl  01 Dec 2003
Death, I know that sounds strange, but he was transformed.
Energy never dies it just changes form.

Dark_angel  01 Dec 2003
The Page of Cups? He's finally able to appreciate life for its true beauty (I'm willing to bet he wasn't nearly as happy before whatever happened to him), and is just starting out on a new journey of love and emotion, in a world that he's seeing with new eyes.

Or I could just be very tired and barking up the wrong tree entirely! lol.

jmd  01 Dec 2003
Le Fou?

gloria  02 Dec 2003
The World?

Diana  02 Dec 2003
I've got it! It's the Wheel of Fortune!!!!

(I think...... )

Minderwiz  02 Dec 2003
No none of the above

Think what sort of a moment it is for Stu.

Diana  02 Dec 2003
Pfffff! A Wheel of Fortune moment.

Okay, I'll go and cook my salmon and put on my thinking cap (had to buy a new one - jmd never gave me back my other one).

Minderwiz  02 Dec 2003
Ahh! well that explains it - jmd has a lot to answer for :)

PS, save some Salmon for me and I'll open a bottle of Chablis!

gloria  02 Dec 2003
10/Cups?

Mystic Zyl  02 Dec 2003
Judgement a time of rebirth and second chances.

spoonbender  02 Dec 2003
ooh, Ace of Cups!

"thankfully... dewfall... crying... God..."

It is a deeply spiritual moment, a moment of great connectedness, a moment in which he's thanking God. He opens up, cries... It is a very emotional moment and the element of water is even physically represented by the dewfall and the crying... No?

gloria  02 Dec 2003
If you say so Spoonbender :)

Diana  02 Dec 2003
Okay, this guy is tottering. And that means he's kind of weak at the knees. Knees and leg problems are sometimes pointed at with the Chariot. But if it were the Chariot, he probably wouldn't go tottering - he'd jump into his car. So let's toss out the Chariot.

I'll go for the 10 of Swords.

*Diana tries to adjust her new thinking cap onto her head - it's a little tight around the forehead*

sharon  02 Dec 2003
Probably way of base - but i'll have a guess at the Tower.

Dark_angel  02 Dec 2003
High Priestess?

Minderwiz  02 Dec 2003
No we've still not hit the right card!!!

Forget the tottering and the dew and for that matter the grass.

RedWood  02 Dec 2003
3 Swords?

Diana  02 Dec 2003
Okay. No grass, no dew and no tottering.

So this guy is really really happy. I mean really overjoyed to just be alive.

Life is what? Coins? Batons? Swords? Cups? Let's toss the Swords. Let's toss the Coins for now. And let's toss the Batons. Cups are emotions, feelings. So let's go for a Cup.

Can't be: Ace of Cups, Eight of Cups, Ten of Cups, Page of Cups (because these have all been refused by Minderwiz.)

So we have left: the Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Nine, Knight, Queen and King.

Happy would be seven. Because it's kind of like a Victory (Chariot....). Victory over adversary, victory over death itself.

So I go for the Seven of Cups.

Minderwiz  02 Dec 2003
Yes and No

Yes
This guy is really overjoyed to be alive and some of the emotions and feelings that go with it - he's just fought his way out of a detention centre in which everyone was dying of plague (sort of) and now he's out in the open and (possibly) safe

No

It's not the seven of cups.

Diana  02 Dec 2003
I think I will read that book. Sounds good - but it is gloomy all the way?

Last try and then I give up for good.

Five of Cups.

(edited to add: SHRIEK!!! It's not a cup.... but it's too late - I said I give up for good. That'll teach me! Hey everyone! Go for the Swords!!!)

Minderwiz  02 Dec 2003
I think it's one of Stephen King's best - a classical struggle between good and evil, sacrifice and redemption. I re-read it at regular intervals.

Although it offers hope to mankind it doesn't offer hope to the Five of Cups.

I'll see if anyone's got it by the morning and if not start offering big clues, though the above might just act as a clue if you think about it in a certain light.

jmd  02 Dec 2003
Let's see... Sacrifice (XII) and Redemption (XX) have already been suggested... so has Hope (XVII)

Gladness to be alive....

how about XVIIII the Sun, freed from the walls of imprisonment?

gloria  03 Dec 2003
3/Cups?

Please delete didn't realise Cups were out.

gloria  03 Dec 2003
9/Wands?

Minderwiz  03 Dec 2003
JMD WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the Sun,

Giver and sustainer of life. optimism, exuberance, affirmation, joy, satisfaction,, energy, celebration, the dawning of a new day and it feels great to be alive!

your turn jmd

jmd  03 Dec 2003
Thanks Minderwiz... it was actually clear once you confirmed it - and it was a wonderful quote for this aspect of the card! :)

Now to find another...
