“I tell you,” went on Syme with passion, “that every time a train comes in I feel that it has broken past batteries of besiegers, and that man has won a battle against chaos.
You say contemptuously that when one has left Sloane Square one must come to Victoria. I say that one might do a thousand things instead, and that whenever I really come there I have the sense of hairsbreadth escape.
And when I hear the guard shout out the word ‘Victoria’, it is not an unmeaning word.
It is to me the cry of a herald announcing conquest. It is to me indeed ‘Victoria’; it is the victory of Adam.”
From The Man Who Was Thursday, by G.K.Chesterton.
What card am I? :)

Aah yes JMD this passage certainly did conjure up the Chariot for me, but alas, not the card I had in mind. After all, that would have been too easy as you have proved. :)
Judgement another good card but not the one Diana.
Spoonbender and Mystic...fraid not :(

For some reason I think it might be the
Wheel of fourtune (moving in a different direction, destiny)

I'll try the 9 of wands. That guy looks like he's pretty banged up, and he gone through lots to get where he is, however small it may seem.

Matt your card is a good one, he has the stamina but there's something lacking with him.
JMD's Chariot is more like the card I have in mind.
So no luck so far. :)

Sorry JMD but I laughed out loud with your choice Knight/Discs.
I wouldn't fancy having to wait around for him.
Hi Spoonbender..... no it isn't the Page Wands....although I can see how it could apply in part to the scenario.
Sorry guys but have to go get a coffee.

Congratulations Bluemanticore!!!!
The Knight of Swords it is.
You know this really is the exhilaration you feel when your train arrives. I can only speak for here in UK, but there are a thousand and one things that could prevent a train arriving at its destination. Leaves on the line, wet lines due to rain, wrong kind of snow, (sadly we haven’t been informed of the right kind as yet) the list is endless. And so it is indeed a ‘victory’ when one does arrive!
Now when you do hear ‘that train’ thundering its way into the station, you can bet your sweet life the fiery and determined Knight of Swords is at the helm. So, he’s a couple of minutes late, he’s probably rescued a ‘damsel in distress’ along the way. This guy will cut through barriers and chaos to be with you. The elements at their worst will not deter him. There is nothing that will hold him back…..
And as much as I love The Charioteer, (well, who wouldn’t?) I’d find the ‘look no hands – I steer from the mind’ approach a little worrying. We have drivers like that over here; trouble is their minds tend to wander!
Anyway have to rush, I have a Knight of Swords to catch!!
Sorry JMD you were so close.:(
Over to you Blue!!!

Are we supposed to find the hidden meaning in the quotes and then find the card that corresponds to that? Maybe I am not understanding the fundamentals of the game?

Hi Rexenne,
If you go to Kiama's index of rules, that will give you all the gen on the various games.
Regards Gloria.

I must say, I am truly in shock. This is the second win for me out of 2 tries! To be honest, I really do not feel I know the tarot all that well, but when I read these literature clues, the cards just seem to jump to mind. Maybe I know them better than I thought. Anyway, I'll do my best to think of a good one as soon as possible.
Blessed be,
BlueManticore
