What is up with the dates?

Thread originally posted on the Aeclectic Tarot Forum on 05 Dec 2003, and now archived in the Forum Library.

rexenne2003  05 Dec 2003
All the dates are way off...what gives? The Millinium Bug a little late?

Diana  05 Dec 2003
Hi Rexie! Is this a new game? Or did you post in the wrong forum? I suspect this should be in the Technical Forum. I'm sure Kiama will be here soon and will move it over there so that the technical wizards can help you out.

But if it's a new game, I would say: Dates out? Justice reversed. :D

skytwig  05 Dec 2003
Do you mean the dates on the games?

I started that.... so we wouldn't get confused..... We kept posting threads that said New Game, but then they were solved and still said New Game......

I figured a date in the Game title would help us discern...... :D

rexenne2003  05 Dec 2003
Uh oops! I suppose a technical forum board would have been more appropiate. No, not a new game but great guess!! LMAO!
I am talking about the actual dates off to the side of the subject titles...my post says 5.12.2003 at 13:31. The time is right, but the date is about ahlaf year behind!!

Nevada  05 Dec 2003
If you mean the dates of posts on the forum, the format used for dates here is dd/mm/yy (day, month, year), rather than the "American" format of mm/dd/yy (month, day, year).

Bluemanticore  05 Dec 2003
Rexenne, try reading it this way: 5.12.2003 = day.month.year
5.12.2003 is the 5th day of the 12th month, December 5th in other words. :-)

Blessed be,
BlueManticore

rexenne2003  05 Dec 2003
AHHhhhhh I see! Gotch! Thanks!

Diana  05 Dec 2003
Okay guys: What would be the card that means "Everyone is falling over each other trying to solve Rexie's date problem"?

Rexie: I take this opportunity to welcome you to Aeclectic and I hope we'll be reading a lot of your posts! Don't forget to pop into the Historical forum from time to time. We are not as scary as we look (it's just the Middle Ages costumes that makes us look like that, but underneath we are as human as anyone else - I think! ).

skytwig  05 Dec 2003
Welcome, welcome, rexenne!!!!! :D

I was so anxious to help, i forgot to say hello! sorry.....

Yes, I understand the confusion about reading the date...... I still have the same mind twist at times...... :)

rexenne2003  05 Dec 2003
LMAO!! LOL! Hi there!!

Majecot  05 Dec 2003
Hi rexenne2003

Welcome to AT... I think this should be moved to New Members instead of Tech Support... Since we already "Teched" it :D

It was a little confusing to me at first too ( the dates)

Silly…the 5 of Wands! (it only looks confusing or dangerous from the outside looking in. If you are carrying the wand it’s harmless and normal.)

Unless…hold it…

How many RWS readers does it take to help Rexie? All of them!

How many Marseilles readers does it take to help Rexie? One. Unless Rexie reads RWS...

Welcome Rexie.

Well, we're having such fun, perhaps we should keep it here. Kiama will decide - it's going to be a hard decision to make - hope she won't have too many sleepless nights over it. (9 of Swords Rider Waite style?)

Anyway, as to the confusion with the dates. If you Americans would only learn that Days come before Months and Months come before Years, then you wouldn't have any confusion. But of course, you leave out the "u's" in colour and neighbour; you call specialities "specialties" and spell "mischevious" "mischevous". What did you do with the missing letters? Give them back immediately. They don't belong to you!!!!!!!

And ((((((((Umbrae))))))): Good to see you over here at Rexie's party.

Nevada  05 Dec 2003
Welcome, Rexie!

But, Umbrae, I'm a Thoth reader... well, most of the time.

rexenne2003  05 Dec 2003
AH! Woh there Diana...LOL! That was very interesting to read....felt like you started out somewhat serious, and then ended in a panic attack!

Well thanks for all the warm welcomes!

Diana  05 Dec 2003
LOL Rexie! It's okay - my heart has stopped pounding, but I will find those "i's". America is big, but if I look long enough I'm bound to find them. There must be tons of them. Perhaps they're buried in the sand in the Mojave desert or something. I wonder if there's a market for them.

Missing "i's": What Tarot card is that? Papess reversed, I suppose.

And, what about our measuring system, Diana......??? Sheesh, we don't speak other languages and we measure everything in inches...... you'd think we have a Hermit complex or something????? :D hmmmmmmm........ maybe that's part of our 'problem'.......... we need to join the rest of the world..... ;)

(Am i getting too political here?)

Glad you asked, rexie...... see what you started with just one question? We are a lively lot here! :D

Majecot  06 Dec 2003
Ha! US Military folk now how to read dates correctly ! ;)

Those missing letters... well they are part of an obscure government project at Area 51, I am sure...:joke:

(it's those Roman numerals I have a problem with)

I don't know what Area 51 is, but perhaps they will find the missing letters along with the Weapons of Mass Destruction.

This thread is a humorous Two of Swords thread.

Unfortunately..... you are pretty accurate with your guess of what Area 51 is all about........ :(

LOL! Maybe...that would explain why they haven't found any so far else where...d'oh?

Area 51 is supposed to be located in Rosewell New Mexico and is supposed to be a top secret--yet not so secret--military base where they were supposedly covering up evidence that aliens exist and have visited earth. Very large controversy over that area.

LOL no controversy... WE (USA) all know the secrets of Area 51!!! We read the National Enquirer (gossip rag) while waiting in the check out line at the grocery store.

Now this is turning into a High Priestess thread (doesn't she know all the secrets?)

My son lives near there..... whatever is there is so secret that they shoot first..... trespassing is enough reason to kill a person.... there are miles of land around whatever is out there, no one can get close enough to see, for risk of death.......... very spooky......

We suspect it has nothing to do with aliens.... rather, it has to do with weapons............. :(

Oh yah, I forgot about the 'shoot on site'.
May be alien weapons??

Maybe lots of "i's".

(Skytwig: that is scary.)

And our apologies to Kiama for using this forum for a rather unusual game.

Stick to the topic, guys! This is a "What thread am I" game.

Shoot at sight: that would be a Wand/Baton card, right?

Kiama  07 Dec 2003
It's okay folks, the thread can stay here! :D There's enough mention of Tarot in it to qualify methinks.

Welcome to Aeclectic Rexie, I hope you enjoy yourself here! It's a great resource and a very friendly community.

By the way, you may also know me as Kim Huggens. ;)

Blessings,

Kiama

PS- Maybe you'd like to post in the New Members forum to let everybody know a little about yourself? It's always a great way to meet the community members.
