Ok, a mega easy one, because except from self-help books, all my books are in french and i don't feel like making angry wonderful writers with a lousy translation ...
So we'll go for a song:
"when there is nothing left to save the day
then we have to say
there's a reason for it
when there's nothing left for us to do
you're left without a clue
there's a reason for it"
from "There's a reason for it" (P. Waaktaar-Savoy) A-ha
Enjoy, i'm sure this one won't last as long as Diana's Maison-Dieu !

There should be a new rule for this forum. People who post the Literary Quote are not allowed to log-off, nor sleep, until the card has been guessed correctly. The suspense is terrible. Far worse than an Agatha Christie novel. Kissa! Wake up! It's only half past midnight.

told you this was an easy one !!! The Hanged Man it is. There are things happening and you cannot control or change them. So let go, there must be a reason for it to be that way. It is not obvious now but maybe will be one day... maybe.
What about changing your point of view, letting all the tension disappear from your body, relax both mind and body, surrender? At least for me, it works and the world looks far better upside down, life will always surprise me, however dark and cruel it sometimes seems. Life always wins, somehow. Power of nature, surrender, after all you're just human, this too will pass.
the first guess was the right one: MattDouglas got it!
oh and Diana, I have been awake for over two hours now, unfortunately, kids wouldn't allow me to log in earlier... And DH needed the computer yesterday so i got litterally pushed from the chair. Family is not very supportive ... ;)
I have another quote ready, not that easy i promise, so let me win this round or the next one... ;)

edited to add that all other answers would have fitted somehow too but that Hanged Man is what hit me when i first heard the song.
