This is my first quote - hope I'm not too obvious...
" Kindness is more important than wisdom,
and the recognition of this is the beginning of wisdom"

Ace of Cups!!
Kindness is a very emotional word, and wisdom comes from the heart.

Sorry Mystic Zyl - it's not the Hermit...
and no Bluemanticore - it isn't the High Priestess (thanks for playing)
( - you can try again though)...
Now MattDouglas - I actually had another card in mind but you may wish to challenge it - yours is a very good call for the quote - so if noone else guesses my choice I think I'll have to give it to you (any other ideas?)

I see the queen as cups as being a kind and very wise lady. Kindness and wisdom begins with a lady such as her.
Regards... Dark Eyes
p.s. I love this quote LaLa, very nice indeed. :)

I'm starting to think maybe I chose poorly when I picked a card to represent this quote
Dark Eyes - the Queen is also a good choice but unfortunately not the one I picked...
I think a hint may be in order...
narrow your search to the majors
(gee I hope someone else thinks like me!...)

The Fool!!!
He's not wise and not trying to be, but he can posssess impulsive kindness which can have astonishing results. The reflection on such imulsive actions could be the beginnings of wisdom.

Strength?
seems far fetched, but there is a statement in a book about tarot that says....."Love as a source of stength".....about the strength card, and one can only have (true) strength by way of wisdom.....by way of love.....

Perhaps the Empress? She could be seen to be kind first, then wise later?

Not the Fool, nor Strength, nor the Empress .....
oh dear
perhaps I could do with some critique on my choice when we finally get to the bottom of this.....

The quotation makes me think of the Hierophant, who is a teacher. It is a valuable lesson, which must be learned if one is to become a better person.

Not the Heirophant
perhaps another hint....
would it help if I said Compassion is a kindness?

With your latest hint of compassion, I'll say...

Hmmm, I think it may be a pentacle or a cup card...Hrrrrmmm...The Six of Pentacles? The compassion of giving to others and doing kind things, bringing much more joy...Thats all I can think of, the others I can think of have been stated, la! :)
